I just sent My 1997 seiko away for Rebuild. Watching Your Video Helps pass the time till I get it back. I like the Green Dial on Yours. Your English is Perfect! Keep Making watch videos.
Thank you. I bought my Seiko Kinetic yesterday, with a dead battery, and was wondering what to do, since wearing it didn't work. A few hundred fast shakes, about 2 minutes, and the second hand moved 20 seconds. No more wondering. Thanks again!
Kinetics don`t use batteries. It is a capacitor system that stores power from movement. But instead of changing a quartz every few years you get to change a capacator every few decades. I got my Seiko kinetic 25 years ago. This is a great tip to get your kinetic watch going if you think the capactor is dead. Just shake watch from side to side. It worked for my Sports 150M kinetic.
Okay - HERE IS THE EASIEST WAY - Works every time! Take your kinetic and wrap it thoroughly in dish towels or equivelent. Wrap it so that it is completely protected. Put in your dryer on air dry (no heat) for one hour. Put other towels, etc. in there with it to further cushion it. The continual movement of rising and falling will charge it right up - while you watch a movie or something. Works perfectly, every time for me. Just trying to save folks a bunch of money, time and trouble. The tumbling action of the dryer is perfect - mimicking body motion throughout the day - and if it's properly cushioned there is absolutely no shock to the watch. No damage whatsoever. Try it.
Thanks for the Video - I kept hearing 'Psycho' and thought that the name for this green dial, I loved it !! Now I understand Psycho = Seiko !! its a great nick name for all my watches now
fun fact: this is called the "Seiko shuffle" and it's for a reason: some Seiko watches (notably a LOT from the Seiko 5 series) don't support hand winding, thus you will need to do the "shuffle" to wind the watch.
Thank you for the vid,my kinetic watch is supposed to run for a maximum of 14 days when fully charged but it lasts for more than a month in practice, should i be worried?
I was given a Seiko kinetic watch that hadn't been used for a few years. Unfortunately, the capacitor was no longer working. I took the watch to my local watch repair shop and they replaced the capacitor. It was displaying the correct time when I left the shop (2 days ago) and it seemed to be working ok. I have worn the watch constantly since then and it has stopped working. I have shook the watch so many times that my arm is aching. Any more tips please? I will return the watch to the shop on Monday morning. Thanks.
I love my kinetic watch (I'm extremely picky about which watches I like), but since I switched jobs and work from home, even though I wear it every day it isn't sufficient to keep it charged. The best answer is to increase my daily movement. Second best answer is to stuff it in a sock, stuff that sock in another sock, in a sock, in a sock, in a sock... Then toss that ball in the tumble cycle of the dryer. I do wish it just had a damn battery though.
Thanks for your information Dutch. My family gave me a two tone Seiko Kinetic watch when they first came out but the wrist band recently broke. They do not make original type wrist bands and cases for it any longer, and I didn't want to put an ugly leather strap on it even though it still keeps perfect time. However, I did buy the leather band, attached it, and but put the watch away for sentimental reasons. I ended up buying a new Seiko Kinetic watch but was disappointed the battery wasn't charging fast enough by just wearing it. I have had it for three days and the battery was only up to 5 seconds, and 30 seconds is a full charge. So I did spend some time moving it from side to side as you suggested and in no time It was up to 10 seconds. You are correct, just do the Hokey Pokey for a while and it will be fully charged! ruclips.net/video/461EUf4yKgg/видео.html Thanks!
You have to shake it at least till the indicator tells it's half full. The it will charge till full while using the watch. Or you shake it till the indicator tells it is full, you can see that when you push the button en the seconds hand will move 30min on the dial. If the watch still stops after 15 min it need a repair, mostly a replacement of the battery
Absolutely the worst least collectible line of watches (Kinetic) - this is an abomination for any collector unless you wear them daily. Once the battery(capacitor) is exhausted there is virtually no way to revive it outside of hacks that work some of the time. Seiko actually had a charger they sold primarily in Japan and then discontinued because of price point and lack of interest - sell them or store them and forget them as quickly as reasonably possible. They are not collectible and no sane watch collector would pay $1 USD for any.

I like that green dial, yours is one of the best-looking Seiko kinetics in my opinion. Mine also has 100m water resistance.
@@staffordshirebullterrierli7411 What about the Seiko Alpinist?

My friend lives alone and his battery is always fully charged, he must be a W⚓️😂
I love my Seiko Kinetic, It’s like walking your dog daily ✨👍🏻

The newer Seiko 5 watches use new 4R36 movement that hand winds and hacks. Big improvement over the previous 7S26 which did neither
Doesn't matter your English level as long as I understand very useful video thank you my friend thank you for all the information
One of those rotating fans works well too. It's a slow rotation

Just wear this amazing looking watch!
not always possible if you own more than 1 watch as many people do.
With mine had it years I just wear it it in the morning before I go to work it is is a a perpetual calendar
Stick it in a sock, throw it in a tumble drier on cool cycle. 20 minutes later, fully charged. Simple!!!
So its normal that the watch makes noises while shaking? I thought mine is damaged
Mine whistles😭 i think its normal lol

To make the battery last you should run it down & do full charges. Little charges f”city up the battery.
Never run down lithium batteries. They don't like it.
Why has nobody thought of putting them on a watch winder to keep charged??
Don't work, you need more momentum to spin the generator. Winding a spring is easy to do takes a lot less momentum.
@@Dutchwatchdude oh I see I had no idea I just figured a normal watch Winder would charge them thanks for the input I appreciate that
Yeah, watch winders won’t wind Kinetic’s. The Force is too strong with them
@@rbwood1978ify they do make kinetic winders you know. expensive though
I just bought it from Munich airport, how much it cost for you .
I find the best way is to wear it golfing once a week.
Just bought one ✌️😎
I hope yo enjoy it as much as I did
I'm not a fan of the shaking sound
mine is dead i even change the battery capacitor
Went through that and it would lose the charge in minutes after showing it was charged.
Then you might have a broken accu... It should keep charge for at least a month
@@Dutchwatchdude Who knows gave it away to my watch master. He will enjoy it while it runs.
After shake only 15 minute it is working sir
