How are you getting on with the ph reeffactory meter? I'm struggling with recalibration saying my Reef is 8.27 at night during the day at 8.47

      8.47 is plausible.
But if that isn't backing up on other devices do the following:
Soak ph probe in isopropyl alcohol, do not clean off with towel, paper or tooth brush simply blow it off with some ro water.
Then place probe into ph 4.0 and soak probe for 30-1hr then calibrate.
Place probe in PH 7.0 and soak probe for 30 mins in this time click check accuracy every 5 minutes if until number stops changing, you will find 9\10 times you won't even need to calibrate 7 only 4.
If calibration is no more then .05 out then no need for calibration.
Using this careful method it's been flawless.

I have one too but it’s so costly to run. I think I’d go through about 5L of media, $70, in about 1-2 months, so about $500 or so each year!! Any tips to help reduce the cost??

recirculate the air coming out of the skimmer through the media with a water trap in between.
