YOU WON'T BELIEVE THESE DRY FLY EATS ~ Trouts On The Water // Episode 1: In Search of Damsels

- Earlier this month, Tanner and Ivan headed up to Horse Creek Ranch to meet good friend Bob Reece for a day on the water chasing the damsel fly hatch. If you've never experienced a proper stillwater damsel fly hatch, add it to the bucket list. It's hard to describe how rowdy trout get for damsel flies. Cruising the shallows with reckless abandon in search of damsel fly nymphs and adults. The takes can range from slow sips to huge launches out of the water. Trout love damsel flies.

Big fan of this video! More videos of you all catching fish and talking tactics would be awesome! It helps me get through the day at the desk getting to live vicariously through these videos!
Great footage! I love fishing damsels. It’s a very unknown fly around here…. common “wisdom” here is such a large dry fly won’t catch fish, but at the right time, they absolutely go nuts for them! Huge takes!
Love it! Yo, what’s the music?? Groovy tunes mate
How come your not fishing with those spin reels that you have in the shop?
we don't have any damsel lures to throw. 😂😂
@@TroutsFlyFishing That section in the store coming this Fall !! The Lure section!!
Ivan is a big bubble guy- tears them up with the spin rod
Bob, please tie a damsel pattern and call it the Jenny Craig ! Excellent work on this video. So fun to watch!! Ivan !!!!! Let’s Go!!!!
😂😂 I’ll see what I can do. Thank you. Ivan is a video master.

Yes
@@bobreece8462 Thank you for confirmation!
Can you a dry/dropper for this hatch?
In the early stages of the hatch a damsel nymph under a dry works well. Late in the hatch I take an adult dry, thin out the wings so it’ll sink and drop it a foot below the adult dry on the surface. The “Drowned Damsel Dropper”.
