I’ve never tried fly fishing, but recognized what the vest was supposed to be. For me, sports terminology can be confusing, especially soccer and British “football,” are those the same game, I wonder? The pocket knife you found was the same as was issued to the Royal Artilary when they went out to India the pointed item was to take stones out of the horses hooves whilst patrolling the Cyber Pass. My dad had two from his time in India, one large one and one the size you have.
Pocket knife at 11.28 is a WW2 military issue knife. My grandfather had this knife during his service during WW2 and gave it to me when I was 15. The spike is actually for cleaning out sod from the hooves of horses originally which obviously by than had become redundant but they still had them. Originally issued to cavalry personnel. Apparently used by the navy too as a marlin spike (for splicing I guess). My grandfathers is definitely army issue though. Still has the makers marks and army issue marks. My father currently now has it. It looks EXACTLY the same as this one. My grandfathers if I remember had 1942 stamped on the ricasso of the blade. Tough as nails. You could run a truck over them and it wouldn't scratch them. Good find.

Your knowledge amazes me on all this stuff, that you can see a handle and know what it is lol. There was such a mismatch of stuff in this video, and nothing stumped you! It was nice to meet Ryan and see the beer!!! Very interesting family Mary has, love hearing about them! That adjustable wrench you pulled from the bottom of one of the boxes comes from my neighborhood, Springfield, Massachusetts:) I was really surprised to see it!
oh gosh I love the old lock with keys!
He's selling it on instagram.
Glad to see you back at the antique hunting! I have so enjoyed the Potter's House series, but am glad for the surprise boxes too, thank you for taking us along : )
The vest is a fly fishing vest, the fluffy spots are to hook flies into.
jillipepper5353 LOL. That’s what I was telling Alex as he was unfolding! The fluff is usually lamb’s wool.
Lorna Wood ; lol I know, used to fly fish. I was going to tell him not football...hockey gear but figured someone would tell him. 😂🤣
I’ve never tried fly fishing, but recognized what the vest was supposed to be. For me, sports terminology can be confusing, especially soccer and British “football,” are those the same game, I wonder? My son participated in (US) baseball, football and basketball during his school years and those equipments I recognize, but the others, not so much!!
Lorna Wood yes our soccer is British Football. They don’t play football like Canada and the US.
I did know that US and British football are quite different, although these days I am not so much into spectating!! Have a lovely evening!
Just a thank you! I’ve so enjoyed all your videos, especially Potters House, very sad at Mary’s passing, I shared a couple tears with you! Again thank you, never stop, you’ve become a staple in my life! Vick in Salt Lake City, yep, Utah!
The curling rocks were fun....what a neat game that would be.
I faithfully watch your videos. You and your family are wonderful.
the old ambulance. Have your friend who does miniatures transform it to look like yours. That would be cool.
Awe, teared up with you returning the item to the family. Y'all are such kind caring ppl. Love the cap you're wearing too! Looks good on ya!
I love it when you do the un boxing. Fun finds. The hood ornaments can bring in lots of money. At least they do in the states. The same with the car parts. you should have no problem making your money back. For laughes you can set up the tent and use it for storage space.
I am a newbie to your channel and just watched the hoarder house wow I felt like I was digging thru the boxes I love places as those. But after years of dealing mold old house I have copd so cant do those picker type of estate sales. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge. I am gonna search thru your videos to see how you got started with antiques and your knowledge. So grateful you go thru boxes live, because most sellers just to a haul type. I was excited to see your store but disappointed to find you live in Canada area
Ryan looks exactly like the Hipsters running around here in Berlin - and he brews craft beer 😄
The world has truly become a village!
i live in a country town in australia... craft beer brewing hipsters here too.
I love these mystery unboxings. That was how you got me hooked In the first place.
Thank you SO MUCH for using your tri stand for your camera. It is nice to see you dipping through a box with both hands!
My dad worked in the engine room on the queen mary.
Cool!!!
Wow!
Michelle Green did he report any ghosts 👻👻👻😳😳
@@magickmoi1261 Ha Ha as it happens yes he did.
@Lil BambinaIm almost certain he didnt ,im sure he would of talked about that. Hes no longer here to ask.
Excellent video. I did enjoy the step by step process of viewing items and your perspective of each. I know your time is valuable with all the projects and business matters you have so thanks for taking time out for your viewing audience to share your venture. Looking forward to your next video.
It’s always so fun to see what’s in the boxes you bought. It’s really cool to learn what things are in the boxes and you give some interesting history on each thing you discover. This is why I love your channel, it’s fun and I learn something new with each adventure! Thanks for sharing!
At 21.10 is a Draw Knife. Army knife spike is for splicing ropes.
Love you in that hat Alex, makes a nice change from the baseball caps. Suits the retro vibe too. I so envy you, going through all this stuff, it's just my favourite thing. Trouble is I'd keep it all! I think everything will come in handy one day. It usually does!!
crazy eccentric person indeed, but we love it... only in Canada, a curling game...lol
I never expected to see you pull a Long Beach souvenir from that Canadian box! If I walk about 15 minutes from my house I can see the Queen Mary. Awesome fun video!
If you ever find hubcaps send them my way lol!!! I collect them off the side of the road and attempt to restore them. I’ve been doing it for a year now and have amassed 30+ hubcaps. I love it.
When i was working or am on a road trip, I count how many i see lol. I've often thought I should stop and get them....but too dangerous on Missouri's interstates!
Thank you for another trip to your store. I don’t have any of my Dale Evan outfit, but it was fun to play back in the day. “Happy Trails to you! Until we meet again......” in Edmonton. Or on the next video
Happy trails!
Love glass doorknobs. My grandmother’s old house had them and I thought they were so beautiful😀
The pocket knife you found was the same as was issued to the Royal Artilary when they went out to India the pointed item was to take stones out of the horses hooves whilst patrolling the Cyber Pass. My dad had two from his time in India, one large one and one the size you have.
That Marine gasoline fuel supply hose if it has the fittings on the ends are going for $50- $150 US
Pocket knife at 11.28 is a WW2 military issue knife. Good find.
Canvas tents are the best! I grew up camping across America in a light blue canvas tent. That tent withstood many a storm and kept us dry. I miss it.
My grandfather always wore a cap like the one you are wearing in the thumbnail. Love it, you are stylin
Hey, Alex, you look really good in that kind of hat. You should wear that style more often.
I sit at the computer far too much I think LOL Edited: Ok, just watched it my usual two times, since I always miss stuff first time thru....I have to admit, it started out slow to me this time, bunch of dusty dirty boxes of 'stuff'...(I should be ashamed of how many little toy cars I have thrown away in the 'ole days'..but as a mom, when you tell the kid to pick them up and then you still step on them what can I say)...and then....the faithful basset hound, spool of twine, and...."all kinds of neat goodies in this box..this is for removing bark off of logs". Your knowledge amazes me on all this stuff, that you can see a handle and know what it is lol. There was such a mismatch of stuff in this video, and nothing stumped you! It was nice to meet Ryan and see the beer!!! Very interesting family Mary has, love hearing about them! So glad I watched all the way to the end, that fishing tackle box full of lures was the highlight! How fun that would be to go thru!! Thanks for another great video, glad to see those notifications pop up on my screen, and yeah, I spend too much time at the computer! I was actually watching a Ray Stevens video, one of my favorites...Mississippi Squirrel Revival....when the notification came up :D Have a awesome day!
Laugh Mississippi Squirrel song Laugh out loud & long. Me too
@SimplySassy59
Ray Stevens was really in his stride when I was in school.
He was so popular they even let us listen to him (during breaks) in school.
It is a special time remembering teachers and students laughing together over one of his many antics!
