And it was at this move that Rapport lifted his Queen from a1, moved his hand slowly in a circular pattern and removed Magnus' rook from the board. Magnus stood in awe for a minute. Then he replied: Agadmator has taught you well, young apprentice.
This one had me rolling lol. And he's so nonchalant about it LMAO. I love the content because I get to learn about something I enjoy but am not super versed in but also because he's always good for a chuckle.
Brilliant moves from Rapport just one after another, and beautifully ignoring Carlsen’s threats; an stunning win by Rapport !! (Excellent game to choose Agadmator, thanks. )
That Rapport quote is funny because what he’s saying makes sense in the context of chess where he “gambles” by not playing for a draw, but in general saying you “gambled a little bit” is the opposite of having destiny in your own hands.
Me: immediately spots the idea with the two pawns! *elo increases by 600* Also me: misses that you could stop black's queen with the knight instead of moving the king and would have merrily run into every possible checkmate! *elo decreases by 1800*
you would think there would be a least one really loaded multi-millionaire/billionaire who loves daring chess who would fund all these creative genius players.
Rapport is such a nice guy. Its really pleasing to watch him win the tournaments and climb the ranking. His style is also pretty interesting. Similar to Dubov, Tal but in a more controlled way. Best wishes for him to qualify for candidates and win it as well
I don't often comment on these videos, I rarely feel qualified. But watching the rise of Rapport in the FIDE tournament has really been something. He has had a decent year coming into this tournament, and now he's defeated Magnus who can't help but be identified as the "man to beat." There's still a long way to go to getting the crown that Magnus owns, but 1) Magnus' dominance has been in question this year, AND 2) let's face it, it's great to see a real challenger come up. Maybe Rapport pushes Magnus to new heights, maybe Magnus pushes Rapport into his own. I suspect both will happen, and it's awesome for chess that it's happening. Every great champion needs a foil. McEnroe had Borg, Ali had Frasier, Fisher had Spassky among others. Maybe now we see Carlson v Rapport making both players rise to hitherto unrealized heights of creativity and virtuosity.
Rapport out-precised the master of precision! I know that if you gave me Rapport's position 10 moves from the end I wouldn't have had the precision to win that game.
Rapport's success is based on of his misty style bcz he doesn't play in tournaments a lot. Firouzja when he lost to rapport said this and after that he defeated rapport in mini game of the century... Rapport is amazing but once players get familiarize with his style he will start losing some ratings.
Well he played in the Norvegian super tournament, in the Tata Steel tournament, and two Fide GPs just in the last few months and he is just getting better and better. He became grandmaster at age 13, and now he is consistent at the 2750+ level.
Exactly dude. ALIREZA SAID THAT. He's abeast himself and if I'm remembering correctly he only said he's really good but he doesn't compete a lot. Not to say that competitors being unfamiliar with his style is the only reason but that it adds to him being good. I might be mistaken because I watched it live and hadn't went back to watch again since.
@suggestion Can I recommend doing a couple of classic games a week? It's clear that the focus of the channels is recent games, but, at least for me, the peak of the channel was the Capablanca and Fisher sagas.
If Magnus gives the title to Rapport, It will be in good hands! :) Anywas I do not think Magnus will do such a nonsense. He was tired after the WCH match.
To anyone else who is scrolling and greatly enjoys Rapport's games, I recommend you check out one of Agadmator's older videos featuring a crazy game from him: ruclips.net/video/kE9w1k6LNWM/видео.html
