  • Mabel Lake Golf & Airpark is, in my opinion, the best nine hole course in BC. It's a very well-designed full-length track with massive waste bunkers, lush fairways, and responsive greens. Perfect weekend getaway if you love golf and outdoor activities.
Oh... and yes, I also had my longest birdie streak ever recorded. Enjoy!

Just found this channel. Really good stuff. Have a group of 16. We've been playing together for 33 years. Haven't made it up there yet!
7 rounds in 4 days. Need recommendations for courses. Going to plan for next year. Any feedback would be appreciated!

@@BeattheCourseGolfChannel Would be coming from Houston. We get out of the heat in August. Usually upper Michigan and Tahoe. We would fly to Calgary as they have nonstops. Biggest thing is when we play 36 we need courses close to each other. Columbia Valley looks good. But I'm sure there's others that I'm not seeing.

@@joeh1970 ok nice! From Calgary some good ones would be:
      - Jasper Park (play this 2x since nothing close)
      - Banff, Stewart Creek, Silvertip, Kananaskis (all close by)
      - Copper Point, Greywolf, Wildstone, Shadow Mountain, etc (Kimberley - Invermere area)
So many good courses through the Rockies here. Shoot me a dm on IG and happy to share more

I'm guessing you didn't do birdie juice, otherwise it wouldn't have gotten to 5 in a row..

How is this considered good? It artificially dictates shots not only off the tee but also on approach. The greens seem simple and bland. But WTF do I know I only have worked at Cabot and have worked on 10 courses in the global top 100. This course seems like a great example of why I call the architect of this course Les "than talented" Furber. Just a complete mess of a golf course from watching your video. If you want a solid 9 holes within a couple hours' drive of Kelowna i suggest stopping by Sonora Dunes over whatever the heck this middling trash is.

Appreciate the insights. I’ll be the first to admit I’m not a golf course architect. This course may not be the best design in the world but it was really well maintained, the staff were awesome, the setting was beautiful, and I had fun playing it. I’ve heard great things about Sonora dunes, hopefully get out there one of these days. Not everyone needs to be picky I guess and I would certainly go back and play Mabel again - great value imo. Thanks for the comment 🤙

@@BeattheCourseGolfChannel I understand being kind, but is it being picky. If you at expect for a half a million dollars to build a course to least clear trees on the aggressive lines off tees. So you can see the extent of the large water bunkers you're spending significant capital to maintain?
Would it be too much of an ask on the short par 3 with the bunker wrapping around the back to instead to be in front of the green so it adds more interest?
These are a few of the many questions that should have been answered before Les left the site to cash his cheque. I understand that you don't own or operate this golf course but at the same time you took the time to highlight it.
Is it not your responsibility if you're going to be playing and highlighting golf courses to not study golf architecture? Isn't it one of the key components of your videos? Not to be harsh but why promote a place that is so obviously a miss architecturally other than you played well here?
I really suggest diving deeper into the subject as I think you would enjoy it and it might add a bit of depth to you content. Which I enjoy if only for the drone fly overs of courses.

@@thebeast666blazer420 this is a resort course where the majority of players are older and less than skilled. It is a nice course and does not beat up the cliental to badly.
