I Loved It!!! I could listen to this all day!! Gorgeous, transcendant performance. I don't know much about music--just what I like. Happened upon this by accident trying to find out what a 'Counter Tenor ' sounds like--because of Adam Lambert. Beautiful!!
a stunning performance ! such a pity, that videos like this, attract so little interest , though... i mean last comment on this, was made nine months ago !
@theo9952 I agree, it's just that most people barely know about music, much less the divisions of the voice and then the "unconventional" voicings. Most people won't know to look up bass, tenor, alto or soprano or their respective meanings so countertenors get looked up by a super niche group of people =/
I don't think that the quality of the video is the issue here, he just doesn't have the depth of feeling in his performance, you don't need sound quality to be able to hear the emotion...Flame on....
can't really argue with you but can't say you're right either. the quality of this video is a far contrast to that of the David DQ Lee one. sound quality does matter a lot since it carries a lot of the details of the tone. basically i just wanted say that i think depth is hard to measure unless its live. let the flamming begin!
Although he is very good, there seems to be a depth that is missing...David DQ Lee's version, although very straight forward, has so much more passion and grace about it.
probably lacking emotions, though the tone is great ... some passages on A need a bit more work, but it's good anyay. ps: countertenors don't have to sound like women unless it's just a quality of the voice ... does not matter really :)

Very nice voice! Great tone!
warm voice. rare quality among counters
Even through the crappy quality of the audio, you can hear his crystal clear vowels.
I like this voice but i can still tell that he is a man by how he approaches the notes decending wise.

@bgboi1981 no they arent countertenors were around before the castrati and the register they sing in is totaly different

He's not supposed to sound like a woman. Counter tenors are the replacement for the castrati.
@allthenamesrtook but sounds like a woman, if i close my eyes i see dramatic mezzo
@Royalorgans its ment to sound like a man
