As a related note to the Dinoland closure, anyone else kinda really hate the replacement? Indiana Jones and Encanto both barely fit with each other and ESPECIALLY have nothing to do with the theme of Animal Kingdom.
Yeah, Encanto easily belongs in Magic Kingdom, and I’m sick of Disney just putting random shit in parks where they don’t belong at all. If they keep doing this, each park will eventually just become Magic Kingdom 1, Magic Kingdom 2, Magic Kingdom 3, and Magic Kingdom 4.
I'm really back and forth on this if they somehow have the new Indiana Jones ride related to dinosaurs I would at least be ok with it. but if they don't keep the dinosaur angle Ill be furious. Extinct animals are a key pillar of animal kingdom and giving them the boot will just make the park feel incomplete and I still believe Dinoland can evolve. Leave the Dinosaur ride as is and give the ride a big maintenance overhaul and replace Chester and Hester's dinorama with something else that's extinct animals related or heck retheme the land entirely around the dino institute and bring in new extinct animals rides and attractions based on ips like Ice Age. But sense Disney has their Disney Plus obsession so far up there bums I could just at least hope they still figure out a way to work dinosaurs and extinct animals in general with Indiana Jones. As for encanto I'm a bit more accepting of it 1 it replaces Chester and Hester's which I do agree needs to be updated and 2 aside from the macaws flying around the park, there's not much South American representation but Disney doesn't want to invest in a proper expansion even though they have a property the size of San Francisco. (Sorry for the long rant)
@@DinoMike2986I had an idea for the park that would absolutely never happen, but I think it would be awesome if Dinoland was turned into a part of the park with accurate representations of dinosaurs, as it would fit with Animal Kingdom as a whole. I feel like the general public still holds a very “Jurassic Park” type of viewpoint on dinosaurs, and it would be nice to see something as educational as a paleo-accurate dinosaur land. It’ll never happen though, since anything that doesn’t have an IP attached to it is completely dead to Disney. I know that a pre-Bob Iger Disney would totally do something as innovative and ballsy as a paleo-accurate dinosaur park for Animal Kingdom, especially since it combats Jurassic Park/World over at Universal. If Disney actually created it today, I’m quite certain that it would get a lot of traction since shows like Prehistoric Planet have been pretty popular, and that paired with a land based off of accurate dinosaurs could create a major turning point in the dinosaur genre as a whole. Although, part of me doesn’t want them to do that at all since I’m a big ol’ Universal glazer.
@@DinoMike2986for some weird reason, my essa-, ahem, “reply” got deleted. Basically what I was saying is that I would love for Disney to create a paleo-accurate dinosaur land, since it fits with Animal Kingdom as a whole, and it would alter the general public’s “Jurassic Park” type viewpoint on dinosaurs. They’ll never do something like that though since anything that isn’t an IP is dead to Disney, even though Animal Kingdom is probably the most original park in WDW. If it somehow is unpopular with the GP, I’m sure theme park enthusiasts would adore it since it would be a glimpse at Disney becoming creative again.
Nah cause they’ll do something fire like Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land… and then they’ll just drop Encanto on Animal Kingdom instead of Zootopia I just hope that Encanto gets a good ride, and that Indiana Jones gets ported and UPGRADED!
Agreed, Disney needs to expand its parks, not demolish and replace. AK is a half day park and needs expansions. Replacing Dinoland is crazy, expand the park to take up a full day, then work on replacing existing attractions and lands. Disney World has so much land its unbelievable that the people in charge want to the Dinoland area for years, further lowering the capacity.
@@Flyoff1234 yeah when you really take a look and step back it’s actually crazy how much land Disney world owns, it sucks they take forever to do anything
Do they even have a plan? It feels like disney has no plan and just throws mickey shaped crap at a wall to see what sticks. Their movies are failing, families don't trust them with their kids anymore. What is going on here!!
I would not be suprised if they are waiting for the voice recording for Zootopia 2 to begin so they can get the actors to do the dialogue for the ride at the same time
Orrrr 5th option...what if they ARE gonna replace Tough to be a Bug first...and the Dinoland replacement doesn't even start for years still because it gets stuck in planning?
Should it close? That's tough, because I can understand why people may not like it and how the 3d effects may be outdated, but like..... I also really can't forsee how anything replacing it would really be worth the money? Like, it fulfills a perfect role in AK with bugs and with the entire Tree of Life being constructed around it, I find it hard to think of something more fitting. Also, this ride is super unique in Disney's current lineup and if they could simply update the 3d effects and put some damn money into maintenance, I can see it sticking around comfortably! I personally love the chaos that this show brings and it's absolutely a good and scary bonding experience for the audience, haha! Funny memories
The issue is A Bugs Life is one of the most forgettable of the Pixar properties, it doesn't have a ton of relevance in modern day. A modern property or original show holds a lot more sway. 3D shows also just aren't all that impressive anymore compared to the 90s-00s.
This is the issue with a lot of Animal Kingdom. Dinoland and all the rides in it have gotten zero attention in like 20 years and thus have been allowed to become crappy or crappier than they were when they opened. If Disney actually invested in fixing these rides they wouldn't have to replace them
@@MrRapmaster19true, but what do you think is going to replace it? Another 3D show no doubt, unless Disney uproots the Tree of Life to put in another trackless dark ride made up entirely of screens and one animatronic
@@discoyetiproductions maybe an animatronics-based show like Country Bear Jamboree? I don’t mind the Zootopia idea either. AK doesn’t have one of these at all, it’s not a bad idea and it’s a people eater
@@MrRapmaster19 I was joking about the trackless ride idea, I think it's actually impossible to put a ride that big in that plot of land. It'd be a much better idea to build an expansion to add capacity to the park instead of replacing rides at a park that already has too little attractions
Bring back the Beastly Kingdom idea. They already have dragons within the park, at the ticket entrance in the ACTUAL logo. It would make more sense to the park!
Disney owns Pixar so they can do what they want to it. In my honest opinion though I’m glad that it’s tough to be a bug is getting the axe because it is way to intense for kids and anyone who has a fear of spiders
The Tree of Life should be a multi-theater building with multiple theaters to add capacity for different shows! One show I’d love to see come to one of the theaters inside the Tree of Life is a Lion King themed 3D movie featuring Rafiki, Simba, Nala, Timon, Pumbaa, and other characters and that movie idea should’ve come to fruition! This should be perfect to go along with the Zootopia and Bug’s Life shows!
2:48 Hell, it should take them LESS than a year, cause the Country Bears got a full refurb with entirely new animatronics, programming, and music in roughly 6-7 months. This Zootopia retheme should hypothetically take them like at most the same amount of time, given all they'd need to do is reprogram the lighting effects and add 1-2 new animatronics. You can even get the show animation all done before you even close down the current attraction!
The problem is that AK not only needs new rides, it needs more rides. Disney's answer is to only address part of the problem and not the full problem. In my opinion, Hollywood studios and animal Kingdom are only a part day park, with only a couple of attractions in each park worth riding. So if you're going to do either, just get a park hopper for a day and do those handful of attractions and spend the rest of the day relaxing around the pool.
@@DaffyTaffy93 Yeah! And they both need more rides! Also, they both need some parades and DAK needs a new nighttime spectacular since they lost their Rivers of Light show!
Disney’s “grand plan” for the rest of the decade is a bunch of rethemes, a Coco Simulator in Frontierland, and a Moana boat ride in Adventureland. And this is after two decades of straight mid. There’s never been a worse time to be a Disney Parks fan.
It's tough to be a bug is a bit outdated and I understand if it gets replaced. But Zootopia? I don't know. Zootopia plays in a city and I don't think that it fits this park. I am also not sure if abandoning the dinosaur theme is the right call. Dinosaurs will always be somewhat popular with young boys. Well lets see how it plays out. Encanto was popular at the streaming service, but it underperformed at the theaters. But its only a small attraction from what I heard. Indiana Jones? I am skeptical. Indiana Jones 5 did badly at the theaters. Even worse than the fourth installment. The younger generation is disinterested in this ip. The public reception from the latest movie was mixed. I am not sure that investing in Indiana Jones is the wisest descision. If it was 20 years, then yes. But to open a Indiana Jones ride in the late 20s/early 30s is a bold decision.
Okay, hear me out: a paleo-accurate dinosaur land with an original story revolving around the Dino Institute, and impressive dinosaur animatronics scattered around the land. They could theme the area to a prehistoric forest that would easily blend into AK. We’ve seen how successful Pandora was, i think this could totally work and it would be Disney actually taking a risk for the first time in God knows how long.
Am I the only one who thinks The Lion King fits better than Zootopia in the Tree of Life? Zootopia may have animal characters, but the movie is set in a metropolis, not true nature. I don't want to go to the Animal Kingdom to see giraffes using smartphones.
"Let's just replace this high capacity land because the people want "new" stuff" We don't want replacements we want expansions! Why would you get rid of the only dinosaur representation you had in the parks? Your competitor, Universal, has lots of success with Jurassic Park 😂 Now you'll have nothing to compete with in that category. Dinosaur is an amazing ride that does not need an Indiana Jones makeover
I'm not really ecstatic about them getting rid of It's Tough to Be A Bug & Dinoland USA in favor of Zootopia & Tropical Americas. IMHO they should consider solutions that makes everyone happy: 1) Update It's Tough To Be A Bug with new animation, new segments that introduce other types of Bugs & have the segments in rotation (that way each show can be a different experience for guests) 2) If they want a Zootopia attraction, IMHO it would fit better in the Rafiki's Planet Watch section of the Park. If they're eventually planning to bring over the Zootopia land from Shaghai Disney, then a few potential construction sites are: -the free area located in between Pandora & Africa -the free area located behind Expedition Everest -the free area located between Asia & Rafiki's Planet Watch 3) Instead of getting rid of Dinoland USA, they should build the Tropical Americas in 1 of the 3 potential construction areas I've previously mentioned: -the free area located in between Pandora & Africa -the free area located behind Expedition Everest -the free area located between Asia & Rafiki's Planet Watch 4) Here's what they should be doing for Dinoland USA: -Build the Excavator Roller Coaster in the Boneyard Area -Replace Finding Nemo Musical with a Good Dinosaur Musical (From Dinoland, Expedition Everest could be seen as Clawtooth Mountain?) -Replace Dino-Rama with a (preferably Log Flume/Water-Based) attraction based on the Ice Age Franchise. If not Ice Age, then The Good Dinosaur might be a decent alternative? -Update the menu that improves the food for Restaurant-o-saurus -Expand the Cretaceous Trail to include enclosures for animals that are considered "Living Fossils" (Horseshoe Crab, Nautilus, Lungfish, Giant Salamander, Tuatara, Gharial, Seriema, Tree Shrew, etc.) -Update Dinosaur with a new pre-show/queue & update the animatronics (possibly giving them more up-to-date appearances) -Walk Around/Interactive encounters with Dinosaurs (Iguanodon, Pterosaurs, Segnosaurus, Baby Dinosaurs, Chasmosaurus, Protoceratops, etc.)
These are brilliant ideas. Animal Kingdom is the park with by far the most expansion space, yet Disney just wants to replace rides, which won't increase capacity in the park
Man you were cooking with this one! Every idea especially 3 and 4 were amazing! So much potential! I don’t even think I’ve seen a horshoe crab or nautilus anywhere except in my encyclopedias. That would’ve blown my mind as a child! I’m also curious about new bugs for the show. All of the current bugs have adaptations that can utilize the 3d effect to create the uncomfortable factor for the audience. What insects do you have in mind?
@@Pantheraleo1545 A few new Bugs (insects, arachnids and/or terrestrial invertebrates) that I had in mind for the show are: -The Velvet Worm which can shoot out strings of sticky glue like slime from its' mouth to immobilize its' prey. -Army or Fire Ants, which can link up their bodies to create bridge-like structures in order to either move individuals or prevent drowning when submerged in water. -Swallowtail Caterpillar, which mimics a snake to avoid being eaten by predators; its' antennae can also flick in & out to mimic a snake's forked tongue. -Praying Mantis, Eupithecia orichloris Caterpillar or Dragonfly Nymph. All three are predators with very quick reflexes & extendable body parts to capture their prey. The Mantis utilizes its' arms, the Dragonfly Nymph utilizes its' lower jaw & the Caterpillar utilizes both its' long body and spear-like arms to capture prey. -Waitomo Cave Glow Worm or Leopard Slug. Both utilize hanging strings of slime but in different ways; the Glow Worm uses hanging strings of slime to capture prey (think a bit like a spider's web), while Leopard Slug hangs from a string of slime when mating (obviously, it would be toned downed for the attraction due to it being family oriented) -Diving Bell Spider or Diving Beetle. If there was a new segment of the show in which the theater gets "flooded" it would be a great opportunity to introduce aquatic bugs (possibly crustaceans such as the Mantis or Pistol Shrimp?) I was also thinking about switching up the bug-eating animal that tries to make a meal out of Hopper towards the end of the show. Along with the Chameleon; you could also go with a Frog, a Woodpecker, an Anteater, a Bat-Eared Fox, an Aardwolf or an Aardvark? All of which have long sticky tongues for capturing bugs.
@@dont-hurt-me2519 These are cool I was also thinking -Malaysian Exploding Ant which sacrifice themselves by exploding and letting toxic secretions cover the predator bug. But then I remembered this is a kids show and that sounds too intense! Like kids can feel really bad about the poor guy. -Bombadier Beetle: shoots boiling hot liquid out of rear to defend itself from predators (which I now remember is identical to the termite but I still thought was cool to mention) -Hawk Moths: the fastest flying insect besides dragonflies which have a recorded speed of 33.7 miles per hour Giraffe Weevil: Bro has a long neck I completely forgot about that army ant thing! They could do like a phillarmagic thing where Flik has one last surprise for us- he calls the army ants they do a bridge formation above us and we hear “the captain go “fall in” and we hear one in the back go “sir yes sir” and there’s like an animatronic behind us!
@@Pantheraleo1545 I can't believe I forgot about the Bombadier Beetle, Hawk Moth & Giraffe Weevil; so glad that you suggested them. Much like with the Leopard Slugs, the abilities of the Malaysian Exploding Ant could be toned down & made PG for the attraction with one of the characters mentioning they're okay. It just occurred to me that the interactive effects of the attractions could be reused for different/alternating segments, such as your example with the Soldier Termite & Bombadier Beetle? There are a few more Bugs I had in mind: Vinegaroon - they defend themselves by spraying a foul substance that tastes like vinegar. The shooting water effect for the Soldier Termite, Bombadier Beetle & Velvet Worm could be reused for the Vinegaroon? Flea, Cricket and/or Jumping Spider - All three have great jumping abilities. Didn't suggest Grasshopper because Hopper's already included in the attraction as an antagonist. Spikey or Hairy Puss Caterpillar - These caterpillars are covered in irritating hair, so maybe a similar effect as the Chilean Tarantula? Ladybug or Millipede - When threatened, these bugs release a foul smell, so it might be a similar effect as the Stink Bug? Stag, Hercules, Atlas, Rhinoceros, Elephant and/or Goliath Beetle - all are incredibly strong by bug standards. Emperor Scorpion or possibly Crustaceans (Crab, Lobster, Coconut Crab) - All had strong claws; the attraction could demonstrate their strength with crushing acorns, nuts or coconuts? If the attraction wanted to do a crossover with another Disney film, then the Coconut Crab could be Tamatoa from Moana (portrayed in the attraction with an accurate size closer to a real Coconut Crab)? Mole Cricket or Earthworm - Either one has amazing digging abilities. Maybe they'd get carried away with their digging, hit a patch of water & accidentally flood the theater; leading into a segment that introduces aquatic bugs? Cone Snail - A carnivorous Sea Snail that uses its’ venomous radula like a harpoon to capture & paralyze its’ prey. Gliding Ant or Gliding Spider - If either one is knocked off a tree or jump off to avoid a predator, they spread their legs out to gently float down to a lower branch or the forest floor. Pill Bugs - they can curl up to protect themselves from predators, would carried away & bounce around the theater; possbily utilizing the seat motion effect of the attraction? Peacock Spider, Tumbling Spider, Trapdoor Spider and/or Hermit Crab - couldn't really think how to incorporate them into the attraction, so they might show up in a variation of the show's finale? I also thought of three more larger animals that might try to eat Hopper during his segment of the attraction; Hummingbird, Bee Eater & Bat.

Disney World has so much land its unbelievable that the people in charge want to the Dinoland area for years, further lowering the capacity.
I’d personally love for Disney to create a paleo-accurate dinosaur land that attempts to alter the “Jurassic Park” type of viewpoint that the general public still holds. It totally fits with Animal Kingdom as a whole, and I doubt that it would flop since we’ve seen that shows like Prehistoric Planet on Apple TV have been pretty damn popular. Worst case scenario is only theme park enthusiasts flock to it because it would be one of the only original attractions that Disney has created in years, and the GP doesn’t have an interest in it, but I very much think that it would be a success.
If Showbiz Pizza can become Chuck E Cheese in the span of a week, they can do the replacement in a week No need to have it closed while they create the animatronics and film, only when installing them
You would think with the hundreds of billions of dollars to possibly trillions that Disney has you would think they would do something with it Unfortunately everyone winds up being a cheap budget ride?
Lol. Disney does NOT have that much money, and if you do the research, you'll see that they are HUGELY in DEBT because of the loans they had to take out due to Covid
Is a phased closing/reconstruction of Dinoland not an option? Shuttering half of Dinoland for construction and creating a walkway to left hand side to Dinosaur, saving that section for last. Still have all of that area shut down for a certain amount of time, but for a considerably shorter amount.
I really wish they would start trying to make something original again. Disney World started as something special and it's slowly turning into just another theme park
My bet is that they're waiting for Zootopia 2. A 3D short film that's presumably being worked on alongside the sequel could easily tie-in to something that the animation studio doesn't want to spoil until the sequel's being marketed. Still, if Muppetvision 3D closes before It's Tough to be a Bug I stg
The main issue with Animal Kingdom is that it has way too little attractions. Replacing them won't solve this problem. And replacing them with attractions that don't fit the theme of the park will just confuse the identity of Animal Kingdom. Animal Kingdom needs its dinosaurs just as much as it needs its lions and dragons. It is a park for animals reals, ancient, and imagined. Zootopia does not belong in Animal Kingdom. And if corporate Disney needs to shove them in there, they should use the many expansion plots they have to build it, not replace others.
@@Awesome_Dawson_Films_Official Star Wars and Pandora lands in Disney World and both Harry Potter lands in Universal Orlando disagrees with this statement
Am I the only one who hates It's tough to be a bug for its sensory assaulting from the hornet neck tazers and the air holes in the cushions for the bugs leaving the theater at the end; and rather see it put to pastor for that zootopia show?
There is enough to do at the park with all the shows and animals added in. Those long waits for the best rides can make you be there for only the day already! Could be rough without dinoland there.
While I do think that Dinosaur adds a good amount of capacity, it's no people eater. I think that expansion should have been the move before replacements at AK but that's just me. Loved the vid ^^
It's dumb to replace bugs ride when they could easily build a new ride instead. Disney needs to stop replacing stuff and make new stuff instead. They have the land..
I disagree with a loss in attendance as a result of these closures. The only main thing which can be slightly avoided by keeping it open while the land is closed is dinosaur. Plus the main draw for animal kingdom is the animals not attractions
I know the earring guy said zootopia doesnt belong at AK but i wish they would replace rafikis with zootopia land. I also appreciate the south american addition to the park. Lets axe the encanto ip tho
I feel you on this, I really really do, but they closed like, most of DCA back in 2011/2012 to the point where we had to have an alternative entrance into the park, there was very little to do, it was similar amounts of stupid, but it ended up working out!
I mean if they’re working on a Duke Wheasletown animatronic among other Zootopia animatronics in the background of the audio anamatronics video they’re probably not going to shut a attraction operating fine until they’re more sure the animatronic work properly. The Whese anamatronic looked quite complex for a long term animatronic
With how well the Planet of the Apes movies have been going and now that Disney owns Fox, they could use it to eventually make a land as it fits with animal kingdoms themes and is a known IP. Though maybe it would fit better closer to the Conservation Station area
It’s actually a hilarious story : I saw tough to be a bug when I was in like elementary school or middle school at Disney world with my brother and it scared me so much that stupidly I thought I saw smoke in my hotel room and my little brain was like hopper is in my hotel room lol my brother had a lot of fun with that
I saw the show a few months ago and was well entertained by it, it is still quite good. However the animatronics are like completely broken. The animation quality surprisingly didn't even look dated so if they can get the animatronics fixed up, this show can just go on for a few more years happily.
Maybe they’re waiting to open the Zootopia show closer to the film’s sequel. They have been doing voice work on the sequel recently so there’s a chance they’re working on voice work for the DAK show as well.
But since the zootopia project is so much less work than tropical americas, if they close tough to be a bug in early 2025 they could have it open for the holiday season, helping to spread out the opening of new attractions for marketing purposes and to reduce the perception of how long we have to wait for construction in the park to be done
closing Dinoland will not be the cataclysmic event you seem to think it'll be. if they are really concerned about capacity (they're not because lighting lane) they could just close it in phases. first closing the carnival parking lot area, then redo the ride to match. i agree tough to be a bug should have been worked on already. i would guess that will be worked on after country bear is done.
I have a very biased view bc I worked at the tree and I loved it there a lot lmao I hate the boring “don’t change anything” people, and I do think it’s tough is a little outdated, but I think it’s campy, fun and at the same time even educational. The show has pre recorded cries and screams, so a lot of times, kids aren’t crying desperately in the audience (but on the same coin, the was practically always one family leaving early at every showing lol). Maybe an update would be nice, even though I really like it as it is. Every single time the exit doors opened at the end, people left the show laughing, it does its job, you know? If they decided to end it all, I kinda get it, HOWEVER I will die on the hill that zootopia is a terrible choice for a replacement. It’s tough to be a bug (following much of DAK’s message) is about how bugs live as bugs, how they operate in nature and how they function around other animals, including and specially humans. The movie itself, just the name tells all “a bug’s life” it’s about flick’s life and job as an ant and all it entails. Zootopia is more of a human story in “fur suits”, they have human qualities, characteristics, jobs, styles of living. It’s a great movie, but it certainly doesn’t match DAK’s view of the human x animal x nature relations
@@ubermorph1000 not as much as you’d expect! I was doing the international college program, so I spent just 3 months there. But I never saw the show happen on B mode (without hopper). Occasional down times here and there, never for too long. Out of 3 months, there was only one day we were down practically the full day. But worse than hopper was a day when the spiders were giving us trouble and one went far down enough to hit a guest on the head
I think Disney is working on the Zootopia project quietly. After all, once they have the new Animatronics built, and the new movie made (Which like someone else said might be made along side Zootopia 2) it wouldn't take the construction crew a month to change out the animatronics and the movie. I mean look at the turnaround in Disneyland on Haunted Mansion from Haunted Holiday. And that requires much more work in replacing and adding animatronics.
Since I'm going to: "Disney's Animal Kingdom" sometime in September, I'm going to consult some of the employees of: "Disney's Animal Kingdom" to see if there really are plans for replacing It's Tough to be a Bug. About replacing attractions there's one thing you forgot to mention in your video. You're forgetting my hero and mentor Walt Disney's philosophy of replacing a attraction with another attraction. He said and I quote: "Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world." unquote. What do you say to that?
I think Bugs will close either September 2024 or January 2025. I think they want to keep Dinoland open probably until after the holidays or spring break next year so that Zootopia can offset some of the capacity with Dinoland being closed. I also think they will open the land in phases with Indiana Jones opening in 2026 with Encanto opening later in 2027.
Imo it should close just because it’s an outdated IP and too scary for the target audience. Given the parks situation tho I don’t think it should close until after the dinoland replacement opens I’m sure what’s gonna happen however is they both close at the same time unfortunately
Unpopular Opinion: Disney should re-route and shorten Kilimanjaro Safaris to make room for a new land and new attractions. The safari is already so huge and eats up so much space in Animal Kingdom, a park that is in dire need of more than a glorified zoo.
Well, look at it this way. They are much more focused on upgrading Magic Kingdom next and NOT Animal Kingdom. They just finished EPCOT, and before that Hollywood Studios. They are taking major constructions 1 park at a time, which means this plan will either die or take 10 more years after the Magic Kingdom expansions are near completion.
I think it would be optimal if they would do tropical america's first, then after opening that, replace its though to be a bug (hopefully not with Zootopia) and simultaneously with that flipover start the work on a new big ride ride. So in that case the ride line-up wouldt have the least damage in terms of availability, marketing could fill the gap between those massive expansions with a 'new'' ride and in the end you would have 4/5 new rides with the most outdated attractions of the park being gone. However, if its Zootopia, please don't... A replacement wouldnt be bad, but just do a non IP ride for the first time in how many years. The tree of life connects all of the animal kingdom, that theme of itself could be an attraction.
They have actually confirmed it is coming winter 2025 to coincide with the release of Zootopia 2. I still think that that was a stupid decision. Zootopia does not make sense inside of the Tree of life.
DinoLand fits the theme of Animal Kingdom I don’t know why they need to replace it. The only part that needs replacing is the mouse coaster because it causes injuries and it’s cheap. Look at animal kingdom’s logo you have a dinosaur and a dragon on it. So why get rid of the dinosaur? Plus the plaque for animal kingdom says this is a land for animals of the past, of today, and of fantasy.
I'm calling a random prediction now.... they make an official announcement with dates and everything at D23 saying the change is happening :P They need to make some concrete announcements this D23 (if they actually will.... well we shall see). If they don't mention this at all, then i'm firmly on the this ride wont be touched for a while train.
Hopefully disney just realized zootopia is not a good replacement. Like what are the city dwelling creatures of zootopia doing in a tree? I personally love that the current show inside of the tree of life is about the little bugs that are often overlooked but are so essential to the circle of life. It fits into the message of the park beautifully even if it is a ultimately a comedy show. Also the theater is gorgeous and I would hate for the wooden theater to be replaced with a concrete looking zootopia theme.
They have already confirmed that it is happening. And as a Zootopia fan like myself, this idea was stupid. How in the absolute halibut does large and small animals hell even an entire freaking metropolis fit inside of the roots of a tree?!
PLEASE DEAR GOD LET IT STAY!!!I FUCKIN LOVE THIS ATTRACTION! AND I REALLY REALLY WANT TO TAKE MY NIECE IN 2026! PLEASE! JUST WAIT FOR US! AND YOUR SO TOTALLY RIGHT IT IS TRULY A BONDING EXPERIENCE WHEN YOU LET THE BUGS LEAVE FIRST! I LOVE THAT ATTRACTION! AND IT HELPS WHEN ITS RAINING AND YOU CANT DO OTHER THINGS AND YOU NEED A BREAK! ITS SUCH A CLASSIC AND STAPLE! PLEASE I HOPE THEY JUST UPDATE THE ANIMATRONICS AND THATS IT! Maybe give it a bit of a face lift! THAT ALL! ALSO I LOVE BUGS LIFE AS AN ADULT MORE THAN I DID AS A KID! SOMETHING ABOUT FLICK AS AN ADULT IS JUST SO RELATABLE! ESPECIALLY THE MESSAGE OF PUSHING THROUGH PEOPLE WHO THINK YOU AND WHAT YOU CREATE WONT AMOUNT TO ANYTHING! I LOVE THIS MOVIE 10/10 and for me the attraction is 13/10 perfection.
I’d go to animal kingdom solely for expedition Everest. As well as the unique atmosphere and lush plant life and animals everywhere. Animal kingdom is definitely not the first part I’d skip if I had to
Do ppl even like the Zootopia movie? I've never seen it, but it looks dumb and imo not worth replacing something else for it. Characters in fur suits doesn't seem like a fit at AK
They should just leave it open until dinoland is done. A zootopia ride isn't going to draw any extra people into the park, but closing down a ride when the park is already pretty thin basically it makes it 3 vs 3 for Disney vs Universal, and universal will win that battle because while Magic Kingdom is the best park in Florida, all the universal parks are/will be better than epcot and Hollywood studios. Plus, Zootopia will basically just be the same ride with differently timed special effects and a different video. It isnt a game changer
As a related note to the Dinoland closure, anyone else kinda really hate the replacement? Indiana Jones and Encanto both barely fit with each other and ESPECIALLY have nothing to do with the theme of Animal Kingdom.
I don’t hate it, but I wouldn’t want it in the Animal Kingdom. I say that even as a ginormous Indiana Jones fan.

The people running the parks division are unbelievably insane 😂
Nah cause they’ll do something fire like Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land… and then they’ll just drop Encanto on Animal Kingdom instead of Zootopia
I just hope that Encanto gets a good ride, and that Indiana Jones gets ported and UPGRADED!
Maybe, maybe not.
@@Foxy02016 I heard that Indiana jones may actually be a totally new and unique ride from the Disneyland counterpart so that sounds exciting.
@@Flyoff1234 yeah when you really take a look and step back it’s actually crazy how much land Disney world owns, it sucks they take forever to do anything
It’s tough to understand what Disney is doing
Now that’s a wonderful attraction. W self awareness on Disney’s part.
Disney doesn't understand what Disney is doing
i don't know.
Do they even have a plan? It feels like disney has no plan and just throws mickey shaped crap at a wall to see what sticks. Their movies are failing, families don't trust them with their kids anymore. What is going on here!!
What is wrong with it’s tough to be a bug 🐛?
I would not be suprised if they are waiting for the voice recording for Zootopia 2 to begin so they can get the actors to do the dialogue for the ride at the same time
Probadly
Orrrr 5th option...what if they ARE gonna replace Tough to be a Bug first...and the Dinoland replacement doesn't even start for years still because it gets stuck in planning?
Honestly... the funny part is this would likely be the best case scenario at this point lol
@@AttractionIdeas it honestly would 😅
Don't do that. Don't give me hope
This was my favorite attraction to work at DCA, both this and Muppet Vision 3D. They were such chill and low stress environments.
I wonder if Pixar themselves even has a say on if It’s Tough to be a Bug should remain open or shutter at all.
They definitely don’t
They both need expansions honestly no more returned
@@DaffyTaffy93 Yeah! And they both need more rides! Also, they both need some parades and DAK needs a new nighttime spectacular since they lost their Rivers of Light show!
Exactly we need expansions not replacements, especially since Animal Kingdom has a ton of free space all around it
@@discoyetiproductions Exactly! There’s lots unused land perfect for expansions!
Disney’s “grand plan” for the rest of the decade is a bunch of rethemes, a Coco Simulator in Frontierland, and a Moana boat ride in Adventureland. And this is after two decades of straight mid.
There’s never been a worse time to be a Disney Parks fan.
Lol. WTF is WRONG with you
It's tough to be a bug is a bit outdated and I understand if it gets replaced.
Exactly. Zootopia does not belong in Animal Kingdom
@@discoyetiproductions I think it fits more in California Adventure since Zootopia is based on Los Angeles
IMHO they should consider solutions that makes everyone happy:
1) Update It's Tough To Be A Bug with new animation, new segments that introduce other types of Bugs & have the segments in rotation (that way each show can be a different experience for guests)
2) If they want a Zootopia attraction, IMHO it would fit better in the Rafiki's Planet Watch section of the Park. If they're eventually planning to bring over the Zootopia land from Shaghai Disney, then a few potential construction sites are:
-the free area located in between Pandora & Africa
-the free area located behind Expedition Everest
-the free area located between Asia & Rafiki's Planet Watch
3) Instead of getting rid of Dinoland USA, they should build the Tropical Americas in 1 of the 3 potential construction areas I've previously mentioned:
-the free area located in between Pandora & Africa
-the free area located behind Expedition Everest
-the free area located between Asia & Rafiki's Planet Watch
4) Here's what they should be doing for Dinoland USA:
-Build the Excavator Roller Coaster in the Boneyard Area
-Replace Finding Nemo Musical with a Good Dinosaur Musical (From Dinoland, Expedition Everest could be seen as Clawtooth Mountain?)
-Replace Dino-Rama with a (preferably Log Flume/Water-Based) attraction based on the Ice Age Franchise. If not Ice Age, then The Good Dinosaur might be a decent alternative?
-Update the menu that improves the food for Restaurant-o-saurus
-Expand the Cretaceous Trail to include enclosures for animals that are considered "Living Fossils" (Horseshoe Crab, Nautilus, Lungfish, Giant Salamander, Tuatara, Gharial, Seriema, Tree Shrew, etc.)
-Update Dinosaur with a new pre-show/queue & update the animatronics (possibly giving them more up-to-date appearances)
-Walk Around/Interactive encounters with Dinosaurs (Iguanodon, Pterosaurs, Segnosaurus, Baby Dinosaurs, Chasmosaurus, Protoceratops, etc.)
@@Pantheraleo1545 A few new Bugs (insects, arachnids and/or terrestrial invertebrates) that I had in mind for the show are:
-The Velvet Worm which can shoot out strings of sticky glue like slime from its' mouth to immobilize its' prey.
Both utilize hanging strings of slime but in different ways; the Glow Worm uses hanging strings of slime to capture prey (think a bit like a spider's web), while Leopard Slug hangs from a string of slime when mating (obviously, it would be toned downed for the attraction due to it being family oriented)
-Diving Bell Spider or Diving Beetle. If there was a new segment of the show in which the theater gets "flooded" it would be a great opportunity to introduce aquatic bugs (possibly crustaceans such as the Mantis or Pistol Shrimp?)
I was also thinking about switching up the bug-eating animal that tries to make a meal out of Hopper towards the end of the show. Along with the Chameleon; you could also go with a Frog, a Woodpecker, an Anteater, a Bat-Eared Fox, an Aardwolf or an Aardvark? All of which have long sticky tongues for capturing bugs.
@@dont-hurt-me2519
These are cool I was also thinking
-Malaysian Exploding Ant which sacrifice themselves by exploding and letting toxic secretions cover the predator bug. But then I remembered this is a kids show and that sounds too intense! Like kids can feel really bad about the poor guy.
-Bombadier Beetle: shoots boiling hot liquid out of rear to defend itself from predators (which I now remember is identical to the termite but I still thought was cool to mention)
-Hawk Moths: the fastest flying insect besides dragonflies which have a recorded speed of 33.7 miles per hour
Giraffe Weevil: Bro has a long neck
I completely forgot about that army ant thing!
There are a few more Bugs I had in mind:
Vinegaroon - they defend themselves by spraying a foul substance that tastes like vinegar.
Disney needs to expand its parks, not demolish and replace. AK is a half day park and needs expansions. Replacing Dinoland is crazy, expand the park to take up a full day, then work on replacing existing attractions and lands. Disney World has so much land its unbelievable that the people in charge want to the Dinoland area for years, further lowering the capacity.
No. It’s not closing. Let them forget about it. Don’t bring it up. It’s tough to be a bug forever
If Showbiz Pizza can become Chuck E Cheese in the span of a week, they can do the replacement in a week
No need to have it closed while they create the animatronics and film, only when installing them
You would think with the hundreds of billions of dollars to possibly trillions that Disney has you would think they would do something with it
Unfortunately everyone winds up being a cheap budget ride?
“Muh Disney Plus!1!1!1!” -Bob Iger
I think the real question we must ask is it tougher to be a god or tougher to be a bug
I would reteheme kali river rapids to jungle book.
the day they remove dinosaur, I will die. I will never forgive disney for this one

I’d prefer Dinoland USA to be fixed up with more dinosaur-themed attractions!
Same
There is enough to do at the park with all the shows and animals added in. Those long waits for the best rides can make you be there for only the day already! Could be rough without dinoland there.
While I do think that Dinosaur adds a good amount of capacity, it's no people eater. I think that expansion should have been the move before replacements at AK but that's just me. Loved the vid ^^
9:21 okay I laughed at that!
It's dumb to replace bugs ride when they could easily build a new ride instead. Disney needs to stop replacing stuff and make new stuff instead. They have the land..
That’s foreign language to Disney
I disagree with a loss in attendance as a result of these closures. The only main thing which can be slightly avoided by keeping it open while the land is closed is dinosaur. Plus the main draw for animal kingdom is the animals not attractions
I REALLY HOPE they keep Its Tough to be a Bug forever...its still way too good!
Idk. But I'm just glad i got to experience it on my first visit in 22.. definitely a surprise favorite!
It is one of my favorite shows but I will admit in recent years Flick's jaw and Hopper have seen better days. They just need a refresh.
I know the earring guy said zootopia doesnt belong at AK but i wish they would replace rafikis with zootopia land. I also appreciate the south american addition to the park. Lets axe the encanto ip tho
I'm just glad I have more time to finally try It's Tough to Be a Bug, since I've never been on it, and I'd like to test my courage on it.
Disney needs to stop building these attractions that don't fit in with Animal Kingdom.
I feel you on this, I really really do, but they closed like, most of DCA back in 2011/2012 to the point where we had to have an alternative entrance into the park, there was very little to do, it was similar amounts of stupid, but it ended up working out!
I’m 43y and I love that ride, I wish it stay and get update it a bit 👏👏👏
I mean if they’re working on a Duke Wheasletown animatronic among other Zootopia animatronics in the background of the audio anamatronics video they’re probably not going to shut a attraction operating fine until they’re more sure the animatronic work properly. The Whese anamatronic looked quite complex for a long term animatronic
They should just leave it as it is. The shown still holds up and I much prefer expansions to the park over replacements
The quality of these videos 🔥🔥
Can’t wait for the new ones
I was so scared of this ride as a kid I had to leave, I know a bunch of other kids that did the same thing.
With how well the Planet of the Apes movies have been going and now that Disney owns Fox, they could use it to eventually make a land as it fits with animal kingdoms themes and is a known IP. Though maybe it would fit better closer to the Conservation Station area

I think they should just keep Bugs. Just update the 3D graphics and enhance the effects a little and let it stay.
Not a chance Dino replacement opens in 3 years…5-7
I saw the show a few months ago and was well entertained by it, it is still quite good. However the animatronics are like completely broken. The animation quality surprisingly didn't even look dated so if they can get the animatronics fixed up, this show can just go on for a few more years happily.
Feel like they are not doing it now bc people think Zootopia deserves a ride.
I managed to go with my family. My niece ADORES A Bug’s Life. I did lean forward to anticipate the stingers, though. Were they as bad as they say?
closing Dinoland will not be the cataclysmic event you seem to think it'll be. if they are really concerned about capacity (they're not because lighting lane) they could just close it in phases. first closing the carnival parking lot area, then redo the ride to match. i agree tough to be a bug should have been worked on already. i would guess that will be worked on after country bear is done.
Your channel should just be named Universal vs Disney 💀
Scariest attraction @ WDW was still Alien Encounter
9:17 XD
I Won't Mind this Show Closing because it is too Scary for Everyone to Enjoy
I have a very biased view bc I worked at the tree and I loved it there a lot lmao
I hate the boring “don’t change anything” people, and I do think it’s tough is a little outdated, but I think it’s campy, fun and at the same time even educational.
I hope you don't mind me asking, but how often did the Hopper animatronic break down when you were working at the Tree of Life?
@@ubermorph1000 not as much as you’d expect! I was doing the international college program, so I spent just 3 months there. But I never saw the show happen on B mode (without hopper). Occasional down times here and there, never for too long. Out of 3 months, there was only one day we were down practically the full day.
But worse than hopper was a day when the spiders were giving us trouble and one went far down enough to hit a guest on the head
@fem0111 I hope the spider malfunction wasn't too bad for that guest.
Tiana’s bayou adventure would’ve been better in animal kingdom
Animal Kingdom needs NEW attractions, not REPLACED attractions.
Disney isn’t going to add stuff because a billion dollar company doesn’t want to lose a penny.
Terrible idea to get rid TTBAB
Dude that’s crazy I don’t remember the spiders in the show lmao even adult me now wouldn’t like that 😂
Since I'm going to: "Disney's Animal Kingdom" sometime in September, I'm going to consult some of the employees of: "Disney's Animal Kingdom" to see if there really are plans for replacing It's Tough to be a Bug.
Agreed
Wish they used Emperors New Groove instead of Indiana Jones
Sick of iger blue sky nonsense
they should just close animal kingdom and fix everything…
like the yeti
I'm calling a random prediction now.... they make an official announcement with dates and everything at D23 saying the change is happening :P They need to make some concrete announcements this D23 (if they actually will.... well we shall see). If they don't mention this at all, then i'm firmly on the this ride wont be touched for a while train.
It call destination d23, not d23 conference
I can heard
@@RonanBunny yep, they really didn’t use any brain cells for this choice :/
Disney can’t afford
It
I really hope that attraction ideas makes a video on more of the uks rides like nemesis or the swarm
Animal Kingdom... first month it was open 1998. Everything done by 11 am. 3 rides... including a weird jungle cruise like river ride.
BS
Love your content but why you always so mad lol-
let's replace frozen ever after with zootopia so that way we can still have dinoland and tough to be a bug how about that.
that's how i want to do this.
Fart
Bugs can close. I am really over 3d movie rides. Why bother? 5 days to spend at Disneyworld. Skip Animal Kingdom
I’d go to animal kingdom solely for expedition Everest. As well as the unique atmosphere and lush plant life and animals everywhere. Animal kingdom is definitely not the first part I’d skip if I had to
Expedition Everest and the safari are my favorites
It’s tough to be a b u g movie in 3d at animal kingdom -fgteev
Do ppl even like the Zootopia movie? I've never seen it, but it looks dumb and imo not worth replacing something else for it. Characters in fur suits doesn't seem like a fit at AK
It was pretty good
I love that movie and it’s not because of the Furries, It’s because it is genuinely a great movie.
It's good
They should just leave it open until dinoland is done.
Animal kingdom is a zoo
