The Tunnel drilling-machine is clearly not a part of this Project, but became used during the similar length, bridge and tunnel over Storebælt, as trains couldn't use the first part and the high bridge, but came up from below on the middle island for the low part and the rest of the bridge.
Many years ago we made a similar Tunnel below Guldborgsund, built as elements to be sunk. But the Company building it offered an extra, second tunnel tube for hardly any price on top, as they now had the Production Facilities ready, and this was luckily done, so today we have a double tunnel ready for the coming traffic, instead of having to built an extra Tunnel!! As well they could continue the Production and built elements for a similar tunnel between Helsingør and Helsingborg, which is also wanted up there!!! And they would have both Train and cars in it. I'm sure the elements could easily be sailed up from Rødby, when the present tunnel has been made and is finished? And using the present Factory and Crew for the extra built!

The first Tunnel-element has been placed on land, and our King: Frederik Xth has cut the Band for the Opening. Now the dam around it will be replaced with the permanent dam over the element and it will be opened to the water and ready for the next elements to be put in line! Actually the water has come in and only the dam must be removed! As now soon to be 77 I do hope to be able to drive under Fehmarn Belt also, as I hated the ferries when crossing the Belt.
