I’m a hobbyist knife maker. I’m very jealous of your grinding setup 😊. I’ve made a few kitchen knives from circular saw blades. Since kitchen knives get washed frequently I use micarta for the scales and West Coast Systems waterproof epoxy just in case. My process probably isn’t as good as yours so I like to have a little bit of insurance.

There is more to making a knife from an old circular saw than cutting and grinding. I anneal to get the metal soft then make the basic shape, drill holes, etc. Then I harden and temper the blade so it is at the desired Rockwell hardness. This will ensure your cutting edge will last much longer. At least that is what I do when working with L6 steel.
