  • Me and Dad set out to convert this cheap pit bike from Facebook marketplace into an electric machine!
Building this electric pit bike was a lot of fun, but we still have some things we want to do it to for more power and comfort! This bike uses a 1800W brushless DC motor with an E-bike style 1800W 48V controller, combined with a 48V lithium-ion battery pack. The next main upgrades will be the battery and motor controller, as the motor can still be pushed a lot more!

Hey mate, good job looks sick, I've been building electric stuff for awhile and on the controller there are normally two wires called self learn or something along those lines. Look at the wiring diagram for the controller to find which two, plug it in and turn the battery on and it should go one way and if it doesn't go the right way take it out and plug back in, when finished unplug the wires and your done. But good job looks like fun

distance drive sprocket is away from swing arm pivot ( big ) could be a prob when you start hitting bumps ( chain will go slack /tight through suspension stroke.) old school mx bike sprung chain tensioner may help.

    • @JustOutRiding
