its hard to see in the video but neither truck would climb the rock to the left and the hill is on an angle that slides you right into the rock. if either of our trucks had a shorter wheelbase we could probably make it through unscathed. trust me i gave up on keeping the silverado nice years ago. you should see the underside :)
The same freaking spot, starting to think I should remove the fenders before going out, they sent the ZR2 on the same line, and hit the same spot, idk what they were thinking, just move that block looking rock out of the way to give more breathing room on the driver side.
i was driving the silverado with no spotters the cameramen were talking me through it not really spotting me. i had walked the line i wanted to take. the problem is that you don't quite see in the video is the large rock on the left that makes you thread the needle and this is a 17-18 degree incline thats off camber to the right. Both trucks would have to be shorter to clear the rock on the right. brian in the zr2 is a go getter driver and just goes for it. Thats me trying to spot him through the obstacle that i took damage on. Neither of us cared all that much. When you wheel a full size truck on some harder obstacles, body damage is a normal thing.
@@ABXPONCE if I cared about damage I wouldn't be climbing rocks with my truck 🤷 it's got plenty of battle scars from trying obstacles on other trips I've taken over the last few years. If you take your vehicle off-road, damage is going to happen sooner or later.
@ 3:22 you could have easily done that line. that front was just locking up, kept on that fuel for a second longer.. super slick truck tho, glad to see it get out

softopper it's been great. I use it as my camping setup with an added tent attachment that allows me to drop the tailgate as well. I chose it over a hard topper because I can lower it in a few minutes or remove the top completely to use the bed as normal.
I can't say enough how much I like my new set of wild peaks. We just got 30cm of snow on top of what we already accumulated and those falkens are just amazing. Never had a chance to try them in thick mud yet.
@@tshearn624 I'm pretty impressed compared to BF KO2 that I had previously. I'd like to know how much mileage you manage to get out of the wild peaks, thank you.
I enjoyed the video...I chose a Power Wagon for my rig, but I like most trucks out there...they all have pros and cons. I can find the good and bad in each...They're all pretty reliable these days....I'm not partial to any of them as I've had every brand out there...
You hit the mail on the head. Pretty much all trucks are reliable today. Tacoma fanboys will disagree to the grave, but they never seem to let facts get in the way, lol!
These types of tests are also proving out driver skill So not everything can be attributed to just the vehicle I’ve done trail runs with others running same equipment as me But having difficulty at certain stages or flat out getting stuck
Are all new trucks dual driver? Every truck I've ever had only needed 1 driver for optimum functionality! Maybe that's why the new ones are so damned pricey- too much technology for 1lil peanut brain to handle?
The full sized truck did a lot better than I would expect. Still love the Colorado ZR2 the best. It will be interesting to see the new Silverado ZR2
Need a new spotter. I’d be pissed.
I thought I was the only one!
@@person54367ify Must be around 5 or more MEN there could have easily moved that rock out of the way. Was thinking the same thing as both of you.
I’d be pissed at the spotters, they left both trucks get body damage at the same spot on the same rock.
It’s the risk just ask my son-in-law , he did the same with his rock crawler truck
@@talkingrock7011 well yea it’s a risk but back to back trucks that aren’t really rock crawlers equals shitty spotting lol

Those weren't spotters, just picture takers apparently !
this is the only channel where i would be able to find every single comparison possible
Good to see other truck owners not afraid of getting a few dents/dings on their fairly recent model trucks. Keep mobbin!
Garbage spotters. Damaged both trucks on the same spot.

@@ptuneandy True. But that was a bad spotter also.
The ZR2 is awesome!!
People just don’t realize but Silverado’s have always been great at off-roading all years across the board
Hard to beat front lockers period!!
The Vermonter
Great everyday truck comparison
I don't know much about modern chevy's and have a jeep.. which one did bettter?
I've always been a jeep guy i was never into pickups but man that ZR2 colorado is a good lookin truck. 👍

What kind of soft top is on the full size truck. I have been looking for one like that

Those wild peaks look like they were outperforming the ridge grapplers IMO. Anybody else agree?

I had a set of Falken Wildpeak AT3 and they were great tires. Got me out of many places I had no business being in. Lol!

Ridgegraplers are not very good from what I’ve experience wheeling with them. The Falkens do exceptionally well where they don’t belong.

@@scotw67 Well those fanboys should see which trucks scored #1 3 years in a row...;)
They all do good off road if you mod them , locker's and tires to start
Zr2 are nice but not for hauling trailers as far as a skid loader ect but all great trucks
Is that a stock zr2 front bumper?
Negatory. Definitely Aftermarket for the regular ZR2. If it were a ZR2 bison then it comes with a bumper that has the option to add a winch.
@@LPM84. yeah it almost looks stock. If anyone knows where it is from please let me know!

The spotter behind the trucks needs to get another job,
Awesome comparison!! No compare a Tacoma vs Chevy vs Ranger vs Frontier vs Ridgeline... 🤔
The videos I’ve seen the zr2 kills the Tacoma version
I love my ZR2😎!
Are those 33 or 35 inch tires?
33s on the colorado 34s on the silverado
