  • A lot of people learn guitar from RUclips videos. Then most people has this similar problem. "Stuck in same place because you have learned guitar visually with no reason (no basic theory / Interval recognition) It's super simple! One note, one finger on One String at time! That's it! What do you think about this approach?

    Thank you very much, this is exactly the lesson i needed, i have a pretty good knowledge of theory , but to apply it is another thing. My approach to learning has been fragmented at best and what you’ve done is make me more aware not to jump around, I know the major scale , and i’m aware of modes but what i need is exactly what you prescribe , don’t look , stay on one string l, listen and visualize, let the increments become second nature as a base, then continue to add sharps and flats as required to play the different modes. This is the difference between playing music and just playing around . Such a simple concept, start at the beginning and don’t move on until you have a good understanding of the feelings and shades those intervals emit . So simple yet so hard, discipline is the key

    • @TomoFujitaMusic
      @TomoFujitaMusic  9 месяцев назад +2

      You're very welcome! Very easy to gain knowledgeable from anywhere but how to digest these.... very important part! Yes, stay with only one thing at time! No jumping around! Fun and dangerous not to learn proper... Theory itself wont change anything! This video is just the way I teach with intervals. Good job! Best to be learn how to be patient via Guitar.
      Thank you!

    I am really focusing this year on getting out of the beginner stage of guitar. I know all the open chords and a few Bar chords and a few scales but my rhythm/timing is awful, and I have no clue what to do with all these scales, but your videos alway inspire me to continue and this year I will push through to another level.

    Tomo, have you ever read the book "The Advancing Guitarist" by Mick Goodrick? One of the first things he recommends is learning to play scales and melodies on one string. Definitely helped me break out of scale shapes, and I think it sounds really nice too!

    Can i ask how we approach this concept in a different string! For C major for example in the G string should i start from A and be aware the degree of A in the scale in other words should i must know the notes of the scale that i practice and start from the closest note from the neck! (of the scale) and how would i know the degree? How should i need to think about degrees!? Should i know my triads very well and understand where the other degrees are locate in corelation to R,3,5! Thank you for everything i am a student of you at guitar wisdom and you have help me alot already!🙏
