Thanks for the review. How does the action of prestige artist compare to PH4 on Roland FP-30X and RH3 on Korg D1? If one intends to practice almost 99% with headphone on, and cares action and sound quality from headphone most, which one would be the best choice? Thank you again
Does the Yamaha p45 have a better sound quality than the Alesia prestige artist?
🤔🤔🤔 prestige artist?? Or Roland FP30X?? 😅😅😅
Looks like your 3rd Movement of Beethoven is getting better!
I decided before the hollidays that I at 55 years old will learn piano, I do have a home studio setup (and am a drummer from the beginning), so I was searching for something that would work standalone Without too tinny sound as well as controller in the studio setup too. I spent a week searching the subject, and this was the review that finally made me tip over to choose the Prestige Artisan as my learning keyboard. It will be delivered tomorrow to my home... Excited to get started.
Great choice. Have fun!
I got my son one of these and he really loves it! Before I saw this video we were at a piano store and he really wanted this one for Christmas. It has a truly amazing sound. Think I made the right choice : )
Cheers Jeremy, found the prestige artist for £300 in the UK, it offers everything I as an older learner could want. The voices I want are all there, the polyphony more than future proofs this for me, many thanks
The Alesis Recital Grand is indeed an excellent digital piano as it comes with fully weighted keys and excellent piano voices, voice control options such as split and dual, and an arpeggiator feature as well!
Hi Jeremy, Just wanted to say thanks for this recommendation. I'm new to the piano and when I bought this, I wasn't sure about this since it's still kinda new from Alesis and only have a few reviews but when I brought this to my teacher and she tried my piano, she also quite surprise that Alesis could perform so well and it's a good piano for me as a beginner to use for a long time.
Hi, how does it feel like? The keys are shinny, I just wanted to know if they are slippery?
In church right now, but will watch this later. I wholeheartedly agree! The Prestige/Recital Grand at $450 is an almost perfect 88 weighted not keyboard, with the Artist at about $600 with the small LED display, more voice tones, and posdible other features targeted for the gigging performance artist, and such. Not an arranger jeyboarx, but I believe may even supercede the Yamaha DGX-670 in other ways. The only other 88 note digital stage piano above that would be the Roland RD 88 at up to twice the price, without going over $2K.
*When the Roland RD 88 was released, I thought it was an awesome pro level digital stage piano at that $1200, but the Prestige/Recital Pro blows everything between $450 up to that price out of the water, for price, sound, keyboard, design and features, even the much sought out and unavailable Roland FP-10, FP-30, and FP-60. The FP-90 maybe an exception, with Roland's top tier keyboard action even the RD 88 does not have, high power speaker amplification and lots of voice tone patches, etc., but it is a lot more expensive, and much heavier. It is groudbreaking, like the Casio CT-S1 is for a $200 semi weighted 61 note keyboard. You reviewed a few great, affordable alternatives, but the only other mainstream keyboard that is more widely available is the Yamaha PSR-E373.
All these mentioned keyboards are inducted into my virtual musical instrument hall of fame.
The Recital Grand is definitely a value, butbI would probably spring for the $150 extra.
I just got this keyboard this week.
The basic one song user recorder has a lot of space. I recorded several sones in the same recording including spamming thousands of notes, and there still seems to be space to record.
I stopped recording after I got tired.
I think there is enough space to record an entire performance of a selection of professional-level music
Indeed!
is the volume can be adjusted ?
Great review Jeremy. You are presenting both the voices and the features of this digital piano.
Your videos are getting better and better and they are really useful for people to decide which keyboard/digital piano will fulfil their needs according to their budged, their skills and what they want to play on the instrument and how to use it.
Well done!!!
Until now, I only knew Alesis for their good and not expensive midi controllers. :)
Thank you for your kind compliments my friend. Good to see you here!
Jeremy, On an earlier comparison video, you mentioned that you would give us some tips on how to tweak the Artist's sound at the end of the video. I was able to hear the Yamaha P 45 and 125. The Alesis Artist won me over. The audio UI, speaker system and ease of use for integrating/adding other electronics makes it the affordable keyboard king. The Yamaha P 45's and 125's recorded, digital sound advantage over the Alesis Prestige Artist was not a deal breaker for me. The difference in sound was minimal. That said, I would love to narrow that difference no matter how slight it is. I'll be waiting for those tips. I enjoy your reviews and look forward to those Artist tweaks. My Artist will arrive in a couple of days. I liked and subscribed. Thanks brother.
Your piano reviews are so informative and helpful, Jeremy. Thank you!
In the organ sounds, is there a decent Hammond B3 sound?
I have reconsider buying a keyboard for a long time but I still played my 88 keys upright piano which is quite old, $900 when I first bought it. I've had this upright piano retuned again and again. I am ready to switch to the best quality keyboard. I've listened to some videos of yours, Jeremy, on Casio and others but I find this could be my kind of Alesis keyboard. I am not looking for fancy voices. I wouldn't use them. I know I would use Grand Piano 2, regular piano, organ, violin, guitar? and a few more of my liking. For the price $600, it can't be beat. I am not afraid of the price compared to other keyboards with fancy voices with prices above $600. I believe this type of keyboard, ALESIS PRESTIGE ARTIST is the one for me. Just hope the electrical grid doesn't go off. I thought of that with no electricity, no keyboard to play. Might buy a small generator for back up on the keyboard and a lamp. I have an American Native Flute that doesn't need electricity, I'll play that until the electricity comes back on. 8)
Great choice!
🎄🎶I purchased the Alesis Prestige Artist as a Christmas gift for myself and feel excited like a little kid! 🎹 Thanks for the detailed description and extensive demonstration of the features.
How is it?
Why are they out of stock on Amazon for over a year now?
Are they discontinued?
People say that they sound out of tune, is that true?
Are the keys slippery?
I like the design, sounds are good, comes with a good speaker system and the pedal. It's a nice keyboard. And thank you for your presentation.
Thank you Jeremy for this review. I checked out several electric pianos in this price range. And your excellent and clear review certainly played a big part of me choosing this one.
I also was fortunate enough to purchase it while it was on a temporary sale, an offer of 435, euros, 115 Euros cheaper than the regular price. Two days after I bought it, it got back to the original price of € 549! Lucky me!
I unpacked it yesterday and I’m so excited. It sound wonderful and also looks even more beautiful than I expected. It’s a been a while since I had lessons so I forgat a lot but I look forward to start practicing again.
Thank you so much for your help, it’s greatly appreciated.

Loved your performance too Jeremy! 👏
Thank you very much!
Thank you for the appropriate camera angles, so I can see the action... I've been getting super angry at all the reviewers thinking I'm here to watch their silly faces.
Thanks for this great overview of what appears to be a great instrument!
Thank you for this. I'm new to this, and I've been wanting to learn how to play for the longest. I have a non-weighted 61 key keyboard, and I am in desperate need of an upgrade if I want to get some lessons and be able to practice at home. I've been looking for a good quality pianos at an affordable price, and your videos have helped me out a lot. Saving for this might take a while, but I really love music and I want to be able to play comfortably. Thank you!
After viewing many reviews for keyboards I went down to a music store and tried some out. I came home with one of these. I have an old Casio CT-770. I was struggling to be able to play the Prestige Artist...I had it on Soft setting. When I changed it to Medium (which is the standard/factory setting) I could play again! So now I can crack on with learning to play. Next to try is Merrygoround of Life...It's all your fault Jeremey ;-)
I'm guilty as charged. 😉 Great choice. Have fun!
I'm looking for a decent Digital piano for my jam studio. Was leaning to the default of the Yammie P125, as I know they make great stuff, but talking a hard look at this one. I sorta like the styling over all the other things in the same range. Sorta retro. As former FoH engineer, love Alesis processors.
When I hear Erik Satie's Gymnopedie I always think of your videos. Great review, and awesome content, as usual 👍
I'm still amaze at the pace of your reviews! Amazing review once again.
Thank you for your kind compliments.
This is definitely looking like the piano I wish I could afford to buy! I'm just a total beginner (at almost 65 years old), but I would love to upgrade from the little PSR-175 that I've been poking at here lately.
Hi Jeremy. Is the Alesis Prestige Artist on the same grade as Roland FP-30X? Appreciate your kind feedback. Cheers
I’ve the same question here.
Me three....
Recital Grand vs. Prestige artist?
What do you think
Your video quality and presentation looks amazing brother.
Thank you so much 👍
i bought Donner Dep-20 after your introducing!!!! can't wait to see my first piano :)
Great choice!
I did as well just a couple weeks ago..mine suddenly stopped producing any sound thru either the internal speakers or headphones out. Literally happened one day before my 30 day return period expired so I was fortunate it happened when it did. It’s definitely a pretty good starting keyboard tho assuming I just got a lemon!
Thank you, Jeremy! The design is stunning. I would try it out tomorrow in a store.

Hi Jeremy,
What would be your honest unbiased comments and opinions on Alesis Prestige Artist vs Roland FP-30X?
WOW I just purchased this from SW. It IS Worth the extra $$ to get the petal alone, I look forward to play this with all the gear I have in my retirement. Thank YOU Jeremy See followed every Clip you made in this category for years. FAN
Very good & clear description!! Thanks!!!
Glad it was helpful!
This or Roland FP30X?
Great review! The piano sounds pretty good especially for the price and competition out there, also the overall specs seem to be outstanding.. I wonder how you have experienced the weighted and graded keybed, are the black and white keys weighted equally - like it should be!? Because the Recital Pro version is having the issue that difference is too far apart for learning habits..
Very professional. BE BLESSED...
Okay, I just brought one of these home! Let's see how it goes, thanks for the video.
Thank you so very much, best review I have seen.
It always kills me when it says "Under $600!" And its literally 599.99 -,-
😂
Depends on the market. where i live it's $450
On Amazon it’s only 450$
@@Cnoxkns The $450 is for the Prestige, not Prestige Artist. Different models.
Well, my math teacher taught me that $599.99 is an amount under $600. 😉
The Alesis Prestige Artist sounded really good, when played by a Chinese reviewer on Villa Aston.
Thank for the review😄
Thank you sooooo much Jeremy!
Thank you brother ........
You have given a total informaton .......
Thank you sooooo much.....
Love from india.....💚❤️❤️❤️💓💓💛💛💛💛
Hello Jeremy : you also did a review on Donner SE1. How do you compare between this Alesis Prestige Artist and the Donner SE1
Hi Jeremy, another GREAT review! I am looking at buying the Prestige Artist to play at nursing homes. Also considering the Kawai es920, a much more expensive option. Do you think these two are comparable?
Thanks again!
Tom
thank you, Jeremy, for this amazing video 👍🏻 what do u think about the Nux NPK-20, how does the Alesis Prestige Artist compare to it?
1:42 ... It sounds so magical, what a voice this piano has... I know the song, but I don't know the name, Can someone help me? Sorry for the ignorance. ❤
I just bought a Prestige Artist last week as a replacement for the Sterling upright I've had for decades (going to my son). I can't get used to the slippery keys on the Alesis. I've been doing searches for keyboards with matte or textured keys, but using those words in searches isn't helping much. Besides Casios, can you recommend other brands that have less slippery keys? Thanks.
Loving your videos :) you should create a second channel for you to performance! I hope to see Moonlight Sonata complete
Hi Jeremy thanks for the great reviews you always give us, keep it up bro...I I just want know if this keyboard has arranger features
No. This is not an Arranger piano
Jeremy pines for presets? Yes, it's strange how presets/registrations are available on much cheaper keyboards, but not on sub 600 dollar portable pianos. But presets would really come into their own if we had zone controls on portable pianos. Maybe that's too much to ask for at this pricepoint, but even if you pay double the price, it's hard to find a portable piano with a graded hammer action and 4 zone controls.
Maybe one of the Casios does it, but not with onboard controls for quick adjustments. Normally, you have to get a heavy stage piano or a controller keyboard for such fine keyboard control. The nearest thing right now is the Roland RD88, with 3 zones - rats, I need 4 because sometimes I'd like to layer piano with bass at the bottom end.
I'd like to see more overlap between model types so that more owners of lightweight portable pianos can enjoy presets and zone control, both at home and at gigs.
Hello, first of all thanks for all your videos, I am learning piano, in Spain I do not find much information about Alesis Prestige Artist vs Prestige, the artist is worth it in reference to the normal one. Thank you very much, greetings
I'm tryna decide between the Korg B2 & the Alesis Prestige Artist, it's about a $50 difference. Any opinions???
The Artist Prestige has a fabulous look and a wonderful sound.
I liked this video I played it twice!
I mean this in a complimentary manner, but I much more so enjoyed your sample pieces on this video compared to some other reviews and comparisons you’ve done! You seem to have rounded out to include several different styles rather than sticking to a more specific sound the entire time and it really helps highlight a keyboards ability (or inability) to handle different styles of playing and different techniques and sounds! Thanks so much for all of your hard work and reviews my friend!
Thank you for your kind compliments. ❤️
Great video! Non glossy keys are much better, I think.
Are the keys on this keyboard any different to the keys on the normal Prestige?
Very good and clear review btw. I really like how you structure your videos. Keep up the good work 👍
Thank you for kind words.
Thanks for this comprehensive review Jeremy. I was wondering what your thoughts were about the graded hammer action on this keyboard compared to the Recital Grand. As this Prestige Artist is slightly more expensive, is the graded hammer action better? Or would you say it's the same on both?
Both models have the same Graded Hammer Action.
Very Good Piano
I ordered mine from Sweetwater, and I'm excited to receive it. I'm a beginner, but I wanted a keyboard that I could grow into without feeling the need to upgrade as I learn.
Great choice! Have fun. 😍
@@JeremySee I will, if it ever arrives. Now it's been pushed out to mid-September. I might have to look for something else.
It's here! I'm so excited. My order with the national company kept getting pushed out, but just by chance, I discovered that a local shop less than two miles from my home had it in stock. I picked it up today. I can't wait to get it unpacked.
@@patriciahansen6032 How is it so far, no clicking sound on keys? Was thinking between this one and Roland fp-10
Can you do a video on casio ct s300 vs casio ctk 3500 . I am really confused which of them should I buy 🤔.
This design character and these magnificent arrays of speakers made me think it would be a tad more bulky, but that's not the case at all? Gawd.
Hi, Jeremy! What you think about artesia digital pianos(performer, pe88, pa88)? Are they worth buying?
Good day sir, how should I connect the piano to a windows pc recording the exact sound of the piano? what cables should I use and sound card or software? thank you
Should i get this or a Korg B2 Im a ittermediate/advanced playeer?... I mean korg sounds are beautiful aswell i think korg e piano are better. Please someone reply.
wow, it even lets you play like mozart! 8:45
If I improve on the piano I'll upgrade to this but until I do I'm sticking to my rockjam.
if I were between the Donner se1 and the Alesis Prestige Artist which would be the better option?
Could you please do review on the Roland Fp60x and compared it with the Roland Fp30x. I’m trying decide between the two and if it’s worth 300$ more to get the Fp60x. Thank you!
Great review Jeremy!
Just found your channel.
I would have never thought of getting an Alesis for anything other than a midi keyboard which I have, the VI61 and I love it!
But this looks pretty epic!
How would you compare the piano sounds with the Prestoge Artist vs the Yamaha P125?
I’m most interested in the piano sounds since I have a midi for recording on Logic Pro with all the sounds I need.
I know Yamaha is known for their actual piano sample sounds from their grand pianos, would you say the Alesis is equal or better?
Everything else here looks better quality.
You said this is THE best digital piano for $600, so would love your thoughts between the two!
Thank you brother!
In my opinion this is the best piano you would found right now.
I used a lithium ion 9V battery cell with 600 mAh to run this keyboard. IT CAN STILL PLAY AT FULL VOLUME EVEN LIKE THAT!!!! And the cell is pretty small, about the size of a lighter.
Although you may experience some very minor crackling at full volume.
You can DIY and make a 12V battery pack and you should be able to run it at full volume with no crackling. The battery doesn't have to have a high capacity for it to work. go for at least 1 Ah.
This is a way to go portable power like you can on the CASIO CDP S100 and S150 models. Just be careful with the polarity. You could damage the keyboard if connected incorrectly.
You can simply buy a DC adapter male plug and a 6- or 8-vell battery pack that accepts AA batteries.
If you want to go further, you can build a small lithium ion battery pack, a 3S pack that has a charging port and the discharge port will be that male plug that goes into the keyboard.
This is a way to get portable power, guys. Enjoy the advantages of the CASIO S100 or S150 with this keyboard.
I wish that someone whom do a video on how polarity works.
Hi Jeremy. Great video! Csn you please make a comparison between the Alesis Prestige and Roland FP-10? I read that the Prestige have a noisy keypad. Can anyone confirm this? What (Fatar?) keybed is in the Prestige?
I wish he would answer your question as I sent back a studio logic and an Euweil PC4 SE.. the noise of thug, thug, thug and more thug from the keybed was not good. I did not experience that with the Yamaha 125 or the 670. I saw a video where someone bought the Prestige, and one key did not work and when he was showing this ... playing just that note, you could hear the thumping sound. I wonder if the Korg B2 has a noisy keybed. MOST REVIEWERS NEVER MENTION THIS.
hi sir. I'm having a good time seeing this video right now. it's been a while since I bought my beginner piano. I'm eyeing this alesis to be hopefully added in my gears. but I'm a bit curios if it can be used as midi as well? cause I'm into orchestric and electro genre as of now, Experimenting some out of the box sounds. hoping for your response. ! thank you!
Yes it can be used as a midi and you can also plug in your computer to it and use plug ins and VST's sounds for different pianos and instruments as well.
Which one better alesis recital pro or alesis recital grand prestige ?
You had me when you said you had not referred to the manual!! I am an analog guy. I want a piano nit a computer.
This is the one for me, so far. I will use only the piano sounds, the metronome and the pedal...maybe the recorder.
I would pay more for more traditional key feel and better quality of piano sound but not for features I’ll never use.
I enjoy your reviews and appreciate that there is consistency across them.
Does it have touch sensitivity?
Hi! Alesis Prestige (not Artist) or Roland FP-30X? And if Alesis Prestige Artist or Roland FP-30X?
What Concert Grand sound do they use on their piano?
After extensive research, I've narrowed down my purchase choices to this unit, the Donner DEP-20, and the Casio CDP-S160. I like this one the best, BUT I can't seem to find a cabinet stand or at least some decent-looking rectangular legs for this unit. All I can find are ugly "X" stands. Do you have any recommendations?
Check out the Alesis AHB-1 kit. Stand, Stool and 3 pedal kit.
Been looking the difference between and the regular one
Compare Casio CTX 800 and Casiotone CTS400
I own this
When you split the keyboard, does it split the grade, too?
Would you recommend this or the Donner DEP-200?
Can you cover the transpose function on the Alesis Prestige ARTIST?
Very Very Very good piano
Nice price
I think I will save money & buy this one. ☺
Do you have any idea what the best keyboard would be for my 200$ to maybe 300$ at most budget. My recent keyboard is great and ive had it for 3 years but the keys are weighted so horribly. At C5 the keys begin to get significantly harder to press, which along with the extremeley loud and light lower keys, makes it very difficult to get melodies to stand out and is the reason I play horribly on real pianos or other nice keyboards. My 3 main needs are properly weighted keys, midi connection, and a pedal of course.
I'm sure you've made your purchase awhile ago being that this reply is a year late, but to those reading this reply in the future, I would suggest the Casiotone CT-S1 as your $200 keyboard. In this price range, you won't find any properly weighted keys. But I strongly suggest watching reviews here on RUclips on the Casiotone CT-S1 keyboard. I never thought I'd ever buy a smaller, non-weighted keyboard ever again, but I purchased this one and it's the best VALUE out of all my keyboards (including this Alesis Prestige Artist). I call it my "car piano" cause it just goes with me everywhere in the car.
@@smc1377 tell me about your experience with this Alesis grand, do the keys wobble after some time and how long do you think you'll last with it before you think it would need to be repaired, and how about the key noise when playing with earphones...
I'm considering getting this but my concern is that I want something that will last me for years to come without having to upgrade, I was thinking I buy it if it's good enough to last me and have keys intact for years or I consider a bigger brand like the yahama p45/p125 if my budget allows
sound great
In my mind, Alesis was a midi controller i love to try the action because i do not wanna buy online before touch, hear, feel the keyboard especially digital piano prpduct
What is the difference between the Prestige and Prestige Artist?
Please make Another video on Casio Ct s400. I really need this. But its unavailable in India.
Hi. At time i´m not so happy about this Piano. Everytime i play with this, i hear the sound from the keys. And if i record me with PC or Handy the Mic´s records the key sounds. I´m not not thrilled. The same Problem i have with the recital pro. Is it normal? if yes, its terribel. Our have buy again an defect Piano?
Do you have an Idea Community?
Can the Alesia prestige artist be used with a keyboard amp for band work ?
Awesome 😎!!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Pls make a video on how to install indian expansion pack in yamaha psrsx600...
Alesis Prestige 88-Key or yamaha p45?
Amazing
Thanks for the factual video on this exciting piano Jeremy. Almost $600 for the Prestige model? Ah, it's the Presige Artist!.
It has good features for this price, and I like the styling, but it will need to be robust and play well to compete squarely with the main dp brands at this pricepoint. The new boy always has to try harder than the rest if he wants the same respect.
It sounds a little hard/harsh on the main tones, listening to it across RUclips at least. I wonder if a little compression would help here? So, did you use the internal speakers at all Jeremy? It would be nice to hear both sounds.
Anyway, it's great to see that giggable sub $600 pianos are now available, with no glaringly obvious omissions on the features.
Hey Mike! This is the Artist version which is Prestige on steroids.
@@JeremySee Yes, I just realised, and edited accordingly. Thanks.
Hy Jeremy, does the recital grand (prestige) save the last setting too when you switch it off, or is this feature only on the prestige artist?
Both does save the settings when you turn off.
@@JeremySee thanks for answering my question! :-) . I will order a Prestige next week. Thumps up for your channel!!
Greetings from Austria :-)
