How design a beam | what is over reinforcement, understand reinforcement & balanced section in Limit

  • In this video try to explain about structural design of beam,
    We can design 3 category
    1. Under reinforcement
    2. Over reinforcement
    3. Balanced section.
    First of all we need to fix our dimensions, then we test the dimension can with stand out load or not.
    Strength of concrete and steel should assumed then, calculate with dimensions of beams, then we get output.
    Every framed structure need beam, it's may have different banner name, plinth beam, tie beam, lintel beam, sill beam, roof beam, etc., By the way beam is beam, so we can use the limitation and assumption explained in the video is applicable for all the above mentioned beams..
    Those assumption or limitation are limit state method.

      You can, don't go below the 16mm 4nos ! Some people will suggest 12mm 4nos ! It was not appropriate.
      9x7 / 9x10 these are the min starter for the 16mm 4nos !
      If you want more reinforcement you can go with 20mm 4nos ! 5 to 6 story building, the same more should be used in plinth and ground rcc ! According to your design. 👍

    Nothing is clear and concise in your video... You are correct about brittle failure and tension failure... But innum konjam proper ah conceptual ah explain panni irukkanum... Balanced section is ideal state... Just to design under reinforced section... No one can ever design a balanced section because its theoretical state
