Good point Luis. I hadn't thought of that. And no, they weren't given sufficient time and many were unable to evacuate due to injuries, the injuries of their loved ones and lack of transportation. There is also a growing mistrust about these orders, for good reason, those who have followed them to the letter in the past have been killed on the way or once they arrived to where it was told to them they'd be safe.

I went camping this past week and a helicopter flew low over the campground. It was loud and alarming. And nobody was shooting at me. This is wrong, what they're doing to those people, what's inflicted upon those people, it's wrong. The actions of the west really have radicalized a brand new generation. I've thought about that and in my small town we have many empty houses, empty shops and stores and we also have a Mosque, as well as a number of Christian churches. Our community lives side by side with others in peace and security. There's a great deal of courtesy and good manners here and we look out only for the best of our neighbors. It's also very diverse. I know that the Palestinian people of Gaza would be safe and a welcomed addition to our community whose growth would greatly benefit from it. And we would also greatly benefit from the sweetness of spirit I've seen from the people of Gaza even in these most dire and horrific of conditions.
It's understandable that they don't want to leave their homeland of many generations and I respect that. But my little town would be a quiet place to rest as they recover from the trauma they've endured.
