Just want to wish andy a happy 71st birthday 🎂. Nov 11th. Your music has meant the world to me! And I want to thank you!! You are beyond amazing 👏 all the best, cheers 🍻 to you andy.
Another great interview. Andy never disappoints with his wonderful recounts of days gone by…Loved the bit about Tessa the stern Virgin employee, now probably giving Satan a hard time too, from beyond the grave!! 😂
Thank you Andy. You are an incredible talent and so many of us out here found inspiration and a new way to think about music through your work. Keep on keepin' on!
The more Andy shares his thoughts and views, the more you love the man. I grew up on a council estate and relate to his views on money and happiness. XTC always had a good moral heart and soul.
He is speaking of his culture as historically indigenous. The volume of this inspiration represented in this particular song is revolutionary and peaceful, science and art. (senses working overtime)
I have Apple Venus and Wasp Star on vinyl, but would love it if they were on Spotify. Would be nice to listen to them whilst driving, as the record player struggles a bit in the car 😁. Great interview, thanks Andy and Mark ❤
Andy: how the f did you manage to overcome the howling maelstrom of indifference and misguided distain to produce your vision so passionately and completely over such a long period of time? It does seem heroic to many of us.
Guy is as good as anybody ever was in Pop music. Circumstance and timing and attitude were against him or he would be Paul Mccartney. Hope he is happy enough.
I'd listen to Andy Partridge read the phuqing 'phone book.... (APART FROM THE GREAT MUSIC he's just A BLOKE you'd love to hang out with....) I DID MEET HIM ONCE, when XTC played in Dublin WAY BACK in the early '80s???? (But we didn't really talk... He found OUR IRISH ACCENTS so FUNNY!!! (AND HE'S FROM FUCKING SWINDONIA!!!!) xx SF

I absolutely love this man. Could listen to him talk all day. Great accent too! And it should go without saying, I'm a massive XTC fan.

I love Andy’s songwriting process discussed here, the Frankenstein aspect in particular.

Thanks for this .
God bless you, Andy, also thanks Mark for the podcast.
Thanks!

“Mr. Scarecrow” by Chris Badley & Foolish Men reminds me a bit of David Kilgour’s songs. 😎

That's just your bad driving. Keep it slow and steady and you'll be fine.
@ haha well I live in Swindon, so I’ll blame the magic roundabout 😂

Looking forward to this ❤
I think Andy should join forces with Martin Newell and make an epic album. That would be fantastic. 😀
John Foxx in the ‘80s wanted a b&w promo video as well and he too was refused.
What does mr partridge think of early ultravox and the strangerls

It always astonishes me that most XTC fans do not appear to realise that the final two albums are their finest.
Many adore them too!
Every album is a gem tbh
Yes, Apple Venus. Wasp Star is good, but not one of my favorites.
They are more AP solo albums.
Skylarking is the best, by a mile!
Why isn’t your songs on Spotify?
maybe because he likes to eat?

Most spotify profits go to the company the music artist gets pennies.
