The first tractor I ever farmed with was a MF and I was discing a hay field. It had everything it needed under the hood and it was 100% reliable. I still remain a fan of the brand and always will. Although my all time favorite is Versatile I will remain a AGCO fan

I like seeing classics like the Massey 65. Although the modern machines are as smooth as a car and can cover triple the ground with ease. Thank you for sharing. It’s awesome to have a viewer from London.
The first tractor I drove at about 10 was a Massey Harris 102 with the Continental grey seal six and four speed box. Dad used to crank start it. Back then it ran on power kerosene but now it runs on petrol (gas in the States). We still have it.
Big step for M.F. !!! Earlier in the seventies, my dad gave me my first driving lesson on a Massey Fergusson 140. I was around 9 years old.Later on, he bought the M.F; 275 with a frond loader. Spécial gear boxes with low speed because we used it mostly inside a glasshouse used for growing tomatoes and cucumbers. I am glad to watch all those improvement made those last few years and especially with RTK system. I wish that I will go back soon to the States and to this boot.

Perkins were the best. They still are. Its really sad what Massey done. Perkins were the engine my 3 cyl Perkins diesel hasn't been rebuilt once had 8000 hours on it. Those were the days. No stupid emission regulations
Joey83 perkins were well made engine and are well made. the sad thing are that a lot of companies that used them have stopped using them. But the polich tractor maker ursus are starting to expand in to more markets and they use perkins and zetor have started to use perkins in there smaller tractors. So thats the brightside. Perkins has becomme an underatted brand in the tractor wordl and thats sad.
3000 series n 6100 were last to have Perkins before changing to Valmet 6.6L 6 cylinder then Sisu later. Perkins was supplying Caterpillar with engines until Caterpillar brought Perkins in 1998. Then Caterpillar had emission problems in trucks, truck engines went into farm engines because different regs but emissions caught up in ag machinery. So Caterpillar team up with new International Trucks and started solo suppler. Perkins is license out to India n China tractors I believe.
As soon as he started talking about the touchscreen display, he lost me. Sounds to me like Jason should of been sitting in the main seat telling us how it works. I really appreciate you taking the time to cover these MF products.
Thank you for watching. I need the experts to tell me how they operate. That’s what is great about talking to the company representatives at these shows. Now I know what to look for when I see it in the field.
I saw you while you were filming this. I really like how the 87 cabs are layed out. The multi function handle makes it easier operate. The new monitor looks much better than the c1000. I have been waiting for them to have something like a touchscreen. The headland feature is a huge plus in my opinion. I use it for the planter grain cart and everything we run. Is the new monitor similar to the 1000 series or totally different.
I think it is a very solid tractor. I have been around Massey 8660s and an 8737. I was very impressed by their ride and power. Their fuel efficiency is hard to beat with the CVT transmission. I can’t wait to see an S series in the field. If you’re looking for a tractor they’re really well worth a look in at least a demonstration in the field.
bigtractorpower ...Thx for info....looks like a real tight machine!!...always looking forward to your coverage of these new machines ..like going to the dealer without the hassles
The 8737 and the new 8737 S are nice tractors. Lots of Fendt transmission tech in them. Thank you for watching. It is always an honor to have viewers from other parts of the world.
Nice Saturday morning video. Massey Ferguson the brand was a very popular tractor manufacturing company. Massey Harris then Massey Ferguson. I have several Massey Ferguson tractor videos here on the channel. More recent videos include an 8660, 8480 and 5200. I just filmed a brand new 8732S and have a 4900 lined up to film.

I have numerous ones. My one has almost 12k hours. Engine and transmission have never been touched. Been very reliable for me... Massey did have some not so good years in the 70s and 80s but all the late model stuff doesn't have to take a back seat to anything on the market today. Plus they burn less fuel and cost less than any comparable product.
My neighbor has been a big JD guy as long as I can remember. The JD dealer borders his farm. Today there's very few JDs left and everything is Fendt. His Fendt dealer is MM Weaver.
