Mad Mike Hughes' Fatal Rocket Launch - Feb. 22, 2020

- Daredevil and flat earther Mad Mike Hughes launched himself in a self-made, steam-powered rocket for the third and final time on Saturday, February 22, 2020, in Barstow, California. He did not survive.
The journalist who filmed this video, Justin Chapman, presented his reporting on Mad Mike in a 4-part series of his show "Well Read," including a deep dive into Mike's various conspiracy theory beliefs and an extensive exclusive interview with Waldo Stakes, Mike's landlord and collaborator who helped him build the steam-powered rockets, the rockoon they planned to use to launch Mike up to the edge of space so he could see for himself “what shape this planet is,” and other death-defying vehicles in Apple Valley, California. The show is available at / justinchapman15 .

no doubt that's what made it fly off. either he had his hand near the lever and the launch jerked him into pulling it, or the design was poor so that the weight of the lever made it pull itself under the G force of the launch.
