      @@TheFishingBloggersIt was a lovely roach and congrats on the PB but did you really have to hold the roach so far off the ground ? . A flip and it would have dropped , no question . And possibly damaged it ☹️. Trophy shots are simply not worth it mate . A shot on the ground aside something for scale is just as good . Think on .

      @TheFishingBloggers  2 месяца назад

      @@happydace6991 I’m kneeling next to an unhooking mat, the camera is zoomed in to get a nice shot of the fish. If it does wiggle the unhooking mat is there to protect it. At most it was 18 inches above the mat….thats not far off the ground 😊

    Great video again Shaun, congrats on you pb roach, good angling mate 👍
    When fishing that style, always put your rod on the rests, and when filling feeder always keep a bend in the rod tip. Catch the feeder in your hand, and put bend in rod before putting it on the rests, this way you will not get any rod tip tangles and crack off's.
    Lighter rods do suit this method better.
    Keep up the good work buddy 👍

    • @TheFishingBloggers
      @TheFishingBloggers  2 месяца назад +2

      Yes keeping tension in the rod top when filling the feeder was one of the things I changed! It’s amazing that even though I’ve fished with feeders since the early days, I still forget the basics! 🤦🏼‍♂️ too much carp fishing! 😂

    • @TheFishingBloggers
      @TheFishingBloggers  2 месяца назад +8

      Personally, I feel they do. 30+ years of fishing has shown me that a softer rod absorbs the heads shakes of fish like roach. I’m sure what you’ve watched has their own evidence of their findings, but for me a softer rod is more efficient and protecting a hook hold. It depends of how someone ‘plays’ a fish, how you use the rod, how much pressure you apply, the angle of the rod during the battle etc. So many factors, never going to be the same for every person

      @@fishingsammystyle8682 Any mug can go to France, or Spain, and catch a 50lb+ carp.
      Or they can fish a heavily stocked commercial big carp water in the UK and do the same
      However, to catch a 2lb+ Roach is something special, and I'd rather catch one 2lb+ Roach than 100 50lb+ carp.
