Les Paul and Mark O' Connor at The Iridium, NYC 2002
    "This Can't Be Love
    "Sweet Georgia Brown"
    9/9/02
Mark O'Connor often sat in with Les Paul after this first meeting at Paul's legendary Monday night shows in NYC at The Iridium. Paul's accompanying guitarist, Frank Vignola, also played guitar with O'Connor's Hot Swing Trio, and suggested to Les Paul that O'Connor sit in. This began a long relationship between the two musicians, with Les inviting O'Connor to sit in every chance he could. For years, O'Connor knew where to show up on a Monday night in Manhattan-probably not a bigger fan of jazz violin than Les Paul.

Amazing. And if we go by the amount of likes and views this gets-GROSSLY underappreciated. These guys are making life better.

I was there that night. It was the night before Mark, Frank Vignola and Jon Burr played at Lincoln Center to celebrate the release of the second Hot Swing Trio CD

The man who invented the solid body electric guitar and the man who learned well from the man with the violin,
Stephane Grappelli. Mark is phenomenal in everything from Bluegrass to Bach. There is no other violinist in the world that can play so many different types of music at that level. 👍🏼👍🏼👌🏼

Spectacular. I can hear the Grappelli influence but even Stephane would've been hard pressed to deliver a tune like Mark does.
