Sgathach

A short film made on the Isle of Skye, Scotland, as part of a post doctorate scholarship program. With a mix of interview style documentary and Gaelic language storytelling, this film depicts the legendary warrior queen Sgathach. She is a formidable and beloved character in Gaelic mythology, but her story was almost lost to time due to the fading of oral traditions.

Possibly the biggest takeaway of this video that I love is when he says at the end, "Storytelling can't be done if you don't believe the story you're telling, so you have to believe it." Thank you for sharing this treasured yet priceless piece of history and many blessings to the old gentleman as well.❤

I could do without the old dude narration. A video with just the lady speaking Gaelic and the subtitles would be perfect.
