A nice quiet start to the new year Sean and farming as it’s meant to be. The winter mornings look so calm and peaceful. The cows look well, I’m looking forward to calving but equally we’ll enjoy a bit of tranquility before we get to that point. Animals always demand some hard work and commitment but you’re living the life! 🇮🇪🇸🇬
Thank you for the update Seán. It may be freezing but they all look nice and warm. You have plenty of frost there we have plenty of rain down south. Stay warm.
All are doing well Stephen out from the white shorthorn. Her leg never cured I did everything. She's still around the yard eating silage and a bit of a pick.
Well k . So winter and all works to provide for winter is the single most expense we have in keeping cattle. From machinery to sheds fertility to slurry spreading and all the environmental regulations on top .it makes for huge capital investment and exposure. That's the macro argument. The day to day expense is transferring most of that into hands on labour we can provide ourselves with very little cost or inputs . My set up is obviously very basic but very scalable for bigger herds. Infact the big it gets the easier in my opinion so if I can do anyone can. So in short it's impossible to but a number on my savings but I'm feeding 2 bales less a week but not paying the banks either or ploughing other money into it🙌
@@seanofalluinregenerativefa4569 I should have said 50-70 per week , either way you’re making out wintering look very doable. I had my last roast beef this evening, a sad day 😔
LOL the ponies were certainly saying "shut up and let us in already"! That's still a high temperature in the ground 'til January this year - so much nicer than last :)
Happy new year, very interesting video, thanks Sean
Lovely video. All looking happy
Thank you Stephanie happy new year 🙌

How's the white shorthorn getting on and the other ones at home

Great video Sean plenty to ponder , a considerable saving financially with out wintering then , probably 50-70 euros?
