My late mother made something very similar to this and even simpler. It was called Macaroni Bake, did onions, ground beef , tomato paste etc in skillet , cooked pasta , then put it in a casserole dish and baked it. It was my favorite dish growing up and I would request she make it for my birthday every year. I made it last month and tasting it brought back a lot of memories. The great thing is that you can tweak it a lot of different ways depending on your tastes and what you have in the house.
Looks very good and make it twice a month for my husband but I use half the meat. With the cost of meat I just cut all the meat recipes in half. You also have the flavour of the other ingredients come true. Just a helpful hind.
I make something similar, however, I drain the fat after browning the meat.. Do you drain the fat from the chopmeat after browning it..I notice she didn't in this recipe.
This reminds me of a dish my grandmother made in the '70s All the same ingredients "plus" 1 crushed garlic clove and "heavy cream". It was our Monday dinner and we absolutely loved it! Thank you for this👍
Try to add fresh tomato sauce, one cup of red wine, no milk, and let simmer 20 minutes in low heat. It tastes much better…also replace vegetable oil with olive oil, much better for your health. Add thyme, oregano, and paprika when you fry the meat, the taste is great…
I actually prefer to cook with real butter rather than oil, but definitely would choose o.o. or e.v.o.o. before any other oil. Though I used to cook with peanut oil. I like your idea of wine though it depends on what taste you are looking for. For a different richness, I go heavy cream rather than milk. Though honestly, other than cheese, I have completely cut dairy out of my diet. I miss it sometimes but it helps!
Her husband, apparently, really likes it just the way she makes it. I suppose you could say it’s rude to change the lady’s whole recipe, then claim yours tastes MUCH better. Being the kind and gentle person you are, I doubt you would say that in person, at your next dinner invitation. Or at least I hope not. I know, I know, this is the internet, and regular manners don’t count.
Super good. I used Italian venison sausage, a small can of tomato sauce cause I was out of paste, and heavy whipping cream instead of milk. Very quick and filling. Thanks for the great video.
Giving this a try tonight Ms Tasty. I have 3 boys that haven’t met a pasta/ground beef dish they didn’t love. This looks great, and easy to make. Thank you for sharing!
Great Video! My dad would cook for our family and would make something like this. It brought back memories. Thank you for sharing. I am in Reno, Nevada, but grew up in California.
So interesting that each country probably has a dish like or very similar to this. It’s a wonderful way to use home-grown garden veggies. This was very much like what my own mother made quite often. It’s a real comfort food kind of meal. I like that you added carrots…I will try that 💞. Writing to you from Vermont in the USA 🇺🇸. Thank you for these nice videos.
I think it needed a little something. I added red wine instead of milk also. Plus a little garlic and onion powder, Italian seasoning and 1 c of mozzarella cheese. Yum! I love the whole recipe!!!
At 65 yo I have taken over cooking meals in our house I saw this recipe on you tube and I can wait to cook it tomorrow Looks delicious can’t wait Thank you
Your recipe looked soooooo delicious coupled with amazing camera work and soothing music that I think that I could smell this awesome dish cooking all the way to my home in Ogden, Utah USA 🇺🇲 💙✌️🌹!!! God bless you and your team and to everyone that happens to see this comment !!! 😇❤️🙏

This looks great! Will make sometime soon for my wife and I! Greetings and blessings from the North Colorado Rocky Mountains! Thanks for the great recipe, subbed!
Looks wonderful! I'd wager 1lb chuck roast diced into 1/2" pieces, seared medium then finished in the veggies and juices would be another great way to prepare this

South Surrey British Columbia here. Tried this with and without the milk. I prefer the no milk version better. I added peas and mushrooms and hot red peppers it was superb. Thanks for sharing and giving me ideas.
If you want a hearty, super-easy ground beef recipe... HOBO BEANS 1 lb. ground beef 1 large onion, chopped 1 tbsp. canola oil 2 large cans Bush's Baked Beans 1 small can mushrooms, pieces & stems, drained Ketchup & mustard to taste Salt & pepper to taste Saute onions in oil in Dutch oven or stew pot over medium heat until translucent. Add the beef and brown with salt and pepper, breaking up the beef into small pieces; drain the grease. Reduce the heat to low and add the baked beans; mix well. Add the mushrooms; mix well. Add the ketchup and mustard; mix well. Simmer for 20 to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve with or on biscuits/bread. If you like your baked beans a little on the sweet side, you can also add some maple syrup to suit your taste before simmering. I'm making this for my dinner tonight.
Sounds and looks great! Very much like our American dish from Yankee New England, "American Chop Suey", created in the mid-20th century! Pasta macaroni or shells, ground meat either ground beef or turkey with your choice of tomato sauce/sphaghetti sauce! Tastes great when eating it at the beach! Thanks for sharing this, too~🥘❣😍
That looks fantastic. I cooked a meatloaf for dinner tonight. I wish that I had made this instead. I had all of the ingredients in your recipe except for fresh parsley which I do not think would have been hugely significant.

Tweak, YES! Add some different peppers, too! 😃
I had a recipe similar to that and called the same name. I used to fix it all the time when in college. Now I’m looking for it again. This is great!

Onions, carrot, and celery make anything taste good. And that piano, bass, and drum tune is awesome too.
