  • One of a wonderful, wonderful series of ads from Levis for their assorted jeans variants. The music was always pleasant, the people were always pretty in a good way, and the look, even more than twenty years later, shows why Levis should rightfully be considered a fashion classic.

Great 80's ad , those were the days when CK jeans and Levi's could never be tight enough , all my friends wore them this tight . I used to put them in the dryer so they would hug my body , that was the style for a very long time until the 90's and then gap introduced the relaxed and baggy fit , which to be honest only looked good in guys with tight builds , and that is how it started with the loose look in a way .

ahah...look at the "Bruce Springsteen-looking guy" (it was '84..."brucemania" all over the world after the issue of "Born in the USA" album)....love it!

@Eatgrunts : '11.5 inch rise!' Try purchasing and wearing Wrangler jeans. I'm a guy with a thin build, and since I purchased my dark blue Wrangler 937 denim/stretch jeans, I will not go back to Levi's at least when it comes to blue jeans. Wrangler are just a better fit.

I don't mean this any way but literally (and I know it's Jason Alexander), but what guy *thrusts* a hotdog into his friend's mouth?

Some of those look a bit tight for 501s, unless they were that way in the 80s? It did say something about shrink to fit, maybe they're a bit tighter than preshrunk ones. And to munkin65, I do wear mine up where my waist is, it's the most comfortable. In 1990 when I was born people wore them this way too. I wish Levis would make their 511s or 510s with at least an 11.5 inch rise, and have a tapered leg (instead of straight like now), and maybe even acid wash for crazy people like me.

he looks like a boxer in better shape. this makes me wonder if he chubbed up for the costanza role or not because if he did he sure stayed in physical character way after seinfeld.
