I'm curious how much you can prep a new edge for the swap and still drive it with the old motor. For ex: can I add the return fuel line without problems, or should I wait for when I do the motor swap? Because I'm goin to have to build towards it. Also, wondering how many hours it takes to put the motor in roughly. I recall you saying you can use the stock motor mounts on the new edge swap, correct?
You can go to the pre-99 fuel system to go return style but idk how the ECU would handle it. But you can go ahead and get the parts ahead of time. Tubular K with mod motor mounts, upgraded clutch or build the auto trans, upgrade the cooling, maybe a bbk H/X pipe and long tube setup ready for the BBK coyote swap headers, etc. Etc.
In a harley f150, it would use the same motor mounts, transmission mount bery little fab work and just hook all the wires and e-fans and fuel system and you're golden

Approximately how much will a swap cost for 2019 ls 3 6.2l into a 1966 ford f100 with custom headers and rebuild torque and trans. New harness, driveshaft coun. and front runner and hot cam
that is the best 4v na before the 2011 coyote. it's a strong runner. full bolt on ported short runner intake manifold and a swap to 96-98 cobra intake cams is a fairly cheap build and can get you to 350+ whp on 93 pump gas. don't gear the gear go at least 4.10 in the back I'd recommend 430-456 if staying na
I would like to swap a ford engine in my 69 mustang fastback.. I am looking into reliable mustang engines with stick shift.. any recomendation/suggestions?
I just bought a 56 f100 want to put a fuel injected motor in it not a racer just a cruiser but would like to put a 5.0 in it of course transmission to go with it and a real to go with it what would recommend
It really depends on how much knowhow you have yourself. I personally would not spend that much swapping a coyote engine. I would just build a 434 Windsor with a passenger block.
This sounds all too familiar. When I was a kid, I had a couple of old Mustangs. I had one in particular that was a 68 that I was going OCD on in restoring with an eye for higher performance. Money just went and went and there was still more to buy. Here's the crux: Back then, there was no high end muscle car market. An old pos Mustang coupe could be found for well less than a thousand. A fastback for about 40%+ or more. You could easily dump a couple grand into it and you would not be likely to sell it for anywhere near what you had in it. By the time the late 90s rolled around, the market started to change. You know what these things are worth now, especially the Machs and GTs....
if your true to hot rodding the cost while a major factor is nothing compared to the smile on your face when it's done and you do with it what you built it for, be whatever that may, plus opening the hood and watching someone's jaw drop is alway's fun lol
I feel like if you have a new edge with a 3650 already in it you could get this done for much cheaper. Even a reman 3650 is only about 800 bucks in my area
It cost a lot. U can buy a 2011 or 2012 GT for less probably. I just bought a 2012 GT for 15k and it has 69k Miles. A motor control pack the power steering bracket and ecu. Trans stuff. Yes. It cost a lot. But if u have the car and the money. I say go ahead and do it. Love to do my 98 gt but I seen this 2012 GT and went with that and I didn't have to wait.
First launch you'll probably break a T5 with a bone stock Coyote, not worth it when you have pieces flying everywhere. You're doing it right by getting a stronger transmission but kudos to you for staying stick
Greg V T5 are a very finicky animal. I have munched them on stock tires and stock motor. I have friends damn near pick the tires off the ground with one.
Well from my experience 95% of people that ask how much !!! do not have the $$$$ to even attempt to start on this project or that goes for any project. Sad to say but true oh and keep up the good work bud
Would be good, if when you release the PDF file you have a reference section for what video(s) have that particular part in them. You put out so much content, that figure people going back, are going to have a hard time going through months and months of 15 min videos 5 days a week... I've been keeping notes of a few refetence.viseos for certain parts myself
So I was thinking of just buying a 15+ donor car off copart. That was at least you have a motor and trans and can go from there. I want power steering and a/c. But even then spending all that money could just be a big down payment on a brand new gt. I'm just not sure
It cost me 12 to do mine and I coyote swapped an 87 Ranger and I'm looking to put a coyote in a Ford Fairlane when I buy it to be in the next month or two
Every1 is so negative about how much. When I dropped off my car I asked how much to make sure I had plenty to pay for it. I researched it and knew about how much. I prefer to ask how much so when they call I have the $ Living in South Florida I can't pull an engine and put a new 1 in. The HOA hates it. They hate me cause my W2 is way less than what I make. So I keep it easy.
Audience I'll just put a 4.6L terminator motor in my Fox, if I decided to do a swap. Now LS motors are cool, but I don't want to waste a ton of $$$. I'm retiring in 3 years, and love my procharged stroker Fox with ALL the bells and whistle. I also own a 2004 mystic chrome teriminator, both are immaculate...Yikes lol
You gave valuable info but you made it sound a little too difficult. Just buy a coyote engine and transmission still attached from an auto wrecking yard and just worry about installing it. Installing an engine at my local mechanic shop is just labor work, all they have to do is install the harness and swap the engines. My mechanic said he’ll have my 91’ LX ready in 2.5 weeks. Piece of cake.
I dont why some people wont go to a salvage yard and get parts and everythang is there i mean thats what i did i put the same kinde of engine in my mustang its been working good and it only cost me five hundred bucks
I did it on a 2005 f150 when the 5.4 went out , igot a copart 2012 f150 for 2200, a tree fail in the bed, paid 4k to have transmission and engine installed
I think for $10,000 I could drop a nice Terminator set up in my 2000 GT...or a built SOHC Mod Motor! My Vortech Supercharged 45K mile mod motor is good for 12.5@111 as it sits, I also run Mustang Challenge car time on the Road Course!!
The cheapest successful build I seen total came up to $7,788 in a 1986 GT... for motor mounts k frame , throttle body , cats , fuel line , and a few computer codes bugs fixed and the rest was plug and play .. would have been cheaper if he didn’t get the bamba cam tune and flo master exhaust setup , and he changed the air filter , and resealed the head gaskets because the engine came out of a junkyard 2011 5.0 GT CS and it sat for a while
Its around 10k if you can do all the fab work, or 25k if you pay a shop to do all the work. And anywhere inbetween depending on the amount of work you can do or deals you can find on parts. And depending on what parts you can sell of old motor and trans when finished.
I was thinking the same thing. Buy a gt with what ever coyote gen u need from iac or copart. Buy one that has no front end damage. Theres atleast a good chunk of parts there.
And that's why. Ls is a better choice cost. Dollar for dollar you can make more hp and more after market support. 400 hp coyote or 1000+hp ls junkyard monster you do the math.
How does this not have more likes for this many views? LOL. I didn't do a coyote swap, but i've done a ton of work on my '89 including a motor swap. I've put up a link to the spreadsheet for that here: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1_V8WiL9B40gVKv3JmYOtwokHZr6QtZralGd_cT2gNuM/edit?usp=sharing
Hey buddy, if you want to save a ton of money i can save you a few grand on the fuel system for something you never thought of. Let me know if you are buying a fuel system upgrade or if you want to use the stock one?
Just a lil tech tip for ya, If you don't want to spring for the adapter fitting & AFPR. You can use a stock Vette C5 fuel filter which has a built in regulator. it'll save you a few bucks there like 30 buck brand new
exactly thank you. it isn't much more expensive than building a powerful Windsor you can make a ton of power and have perfect driveability and better mpg with the coyote and certainly better reliability compared to a built out the ass stroker plus a 347 stroker usually will only go 100k if you're lucky and take care of it the coyote can go way beyond that.
How much depends on what you get. Brand new crate engine, used mustang GT engine, used F150 engine or core engine (F150 or Mustang GT). Fuel system and going crazy with 1200 dollar system dual pumps and never ever going to supercharge it. I'm in middle of helping my brother do coyote swap on 01 cobra. Have many say stock cluster won't work at all. Looking at diagrams and knowing Control pak does broadcast engine info over datalink and cluster works off datalink WOW 2 wires to wire in. If datalink protocol different between both of them then he will try this www.carid.com/2004-ford-mustang-custom-gauges/intellitronix-led-digital-replacement-gauge-panel-613116928.html. I have done glider kits where you drop in older diesel into brand new chassis Both have different datalink protocols and they make control box that goes between them to make them talk to each other. It don't always work the best sometimes they do something goofy. Yes I'm a tech
Just put a whipple on ur pushrod 5.0 with a t56 transmission and make sure she can breath with a set of trick flow heads headers and h pipe. You will smoke stock coyote's. Its just like ur wife always cheaper to keep her.
what you just said would cost 1000s of dollars and wouldn't be all that much cheaper all things considered....it's not just about the horsepower...it's the fact it has over 400 hp stock and can average 20 mpg or better prob even more in a lighter fox body. you aren't going to get that good in a 400+ hp pushrod stroker or blown pushrod and the driveability also won't be nearly as good. plus that 400+ on the coyote is just the start you can get to 450+ whp without even touching the heads cams or short block and it has potential to make 600+ easily if you supercharge it down the road. it's just hands down the better engine and I love pushrods and all mustangs but facts are facts if you build your pushrod to make a reliable 450 whp (which is getting near block splitting territory btw) you're going to have about as much in it and if you build the short block to go beyond that number like the coyote can you're def gonna have more in it. and you're still going to have to upgrade the suspension rear end trans etc just like with a coyote swap. I see low mile engines and trans with the harnesses ready to be swapped for like 5-6 grand on ebay all the time. there's just a few more things to do beyond that it could easily be done for sub 10k if you're only talking about the engine and trans and getting it in the car and running.
Drop in a 7.0 L and then you'd have something. IMO the 5.0 coyote makes the car sound wicked as it's doors are getting blown off, but that's about it. All bark and no bite.
Before I would invest $15,000 to $25,000 to upgrade an older car to an EGO MACHINE I'd take my .380 and blow my ignorant head off. A very foolish waste of effort unless you for sure plan to keep it for 10yrs or more. Most gearheads do not have the commitment or attention span to manage more than 2yrs. Do something else.
Coyote swaps are too expensive...this is why the LS swap is dominating. The LS is in every junk yard. For dirt cheap. Ford and it's infinite fuckin wisdom changes engines every 5 fuckin years and this is why they will never be popular. 3500$ for a coyote bare block shits an average 10k+ ...who the fuck is going to spend that when you can drop 5k and build an 800hp LS....I'm all Ford but mother fuck. This LS shit sucks. It's a garbage engine with fucked ring issues oil delivery problems and zero valve timing adjustments. There is no technology with it. It's a pushrod dinosaur that blows up at 6500 rpms. Unless you dump serious cash to modify the valve train. A 4.6 4v or the 5.4 4v is just as affordable as the LS and make just as much power. The 5.0 coyote is a complete joke ..in 10 years yeah maybe ..but fuckin Ford will have gone to a different engine.
There’s two kinds of fords 🤔 1 you have the Ford . 2 And the Can’t afford.
😆

Here's the crux:
Back then, there was no high end muscle car market.
What about the the diff? Can you use the stock diff or does it need to be swap out?
if your true to hot rodding the cost while a major factor is nothing compared to the smile on your face when it's done and you do with it what you built it for, be whatever that may, plus opening the hood and watching someone's jaw drop is alway's fun lol
HotRod9967 yeah
Where the hell are you finding coyote engines for 2 grand ? Everything I’ve found starts at 6 grand an up .
Lkq
eBay
So its cheaper to keep my 3v and buy a 2014 gt and have 2 of them
Power by the Hour is making a swap kit for the 3v. You keep almost everything. I haven't seen a price on how much the kit will be, though.
How do I get my mt82 trans to work with my 02
Ok guys need some advice.Want to do a swap on my 08 mustang. Its a v6 and 5 speed trans.Whats the best way to get there .
Well from my experience 95% of people that ask how much !!! do not have the $$$$ to even attempt to start on this project or that goes for any project. Sad to say but true oh and keep up the good work bud
Brian Sampman there’s the Ford and the can’t afford
Captain howdy how many times are you gonna say that?
Would be good, if when you release the PDF file you have a reference section for what video(s) have that particular part in them. You put out so much content, that figure people going back, are going to have a hard time going through months and months of 15 min videos 5 days a week... I've been keeping notes of a few refetence.viseos for certain parts myself
So I was thinking of just buying a 15+ donor car off copart. That was at least you have a motor and trans and can go from there. I want power steering and a/c. But even then spending all that money could just be a big down payment on a brand new gt. I'm just not sure
Hey I'm thinking about doing a coyote swap in my 1965 galaxie 500 xl what think
I’ve spent around 15k on mine. That’s starting without a car
Coyotecoupe 92 Yup, that seems to be the magic number
It cost me 12 to do mine and I coyote swapped an 87 Ranger and I'm looking to put a coyote in a Ford Fairlane when I buy it to be in the next month or two
@@addisondoty4231 That Ranger is gonna be fun lol.
I had an 03 ranger with the 4.0 and 5spd. Even that was fun in the rain.
Doing the swap now i have a TKO 600 allu ds on pushrod setup does ds need shortened
I’m in the middle of my swap and I have a donor car it’s a 2014 will the gauges fit my 2006 s197
I like the Coyote swap a Gen II into a 94-95 bodied GT,is this possible for your team
Was it a piece of cake?
Great info. Thank you for the knowledge and advice.
10 to 20 for a foxbody well how about a 72 f100 with a crown vic crossmember and a four link 9 inch with 3.55s in the rear
it costs 21,317.85 dollars....period
With labor
I would like to do this to a 06 ford ranger! Do you think it’s possible?
I saw one swapped into a 2011 ranger back in 2011 when the coyote first came out...prob find the video on RUclips if you look
I would love to see a coyote swap on a Ranger
Updated prices?
Will this engine fit a 1987 flareside Ford F 150?
I dont why some people wont go to a salvage yard and get parts and everythang is there i mean thats what i did i put the same kinde of engine in my mustang its been working good and it only cost me five hundred bucks
I did it on a 2005 f150 when the 5.4 went out , igot a copart 2012 f150 for 2200, a tree fail in the bed, paid 4k to have transmission and engine installed
I have an 07 King Ranch and I have been considering the same swap. Did you get significant power increase and would you recommend it?
$15-$20K, you can buy an 11-14 Mustang Gt, Coyote pre installed, unless you would rather spend the $$ putting it in an older Mustang.
Jeff .S Would much rather have it in a lighter fox, just my preference
Jeff .S that is true but people choose the older mustangs particularly the new edges to swap because they are way lighter💯
dude its all about the fox rest is junk
Have you even driven a new mustang? I have owned several. from 88 to my current 17. The 17 is the best mustang I have ever owned.
Why are "restomods" so popular? Why do people build hot rods? They like the looks. Nothing better than having classic looks with modern tech.
It's been done for 6k
You can barely get a motor for 6k
Buddy Wilson you're not very informed. My motor was 2k shipped across the country to me. People find them cheaper than that
@@shotemup123 with how many miles on it? Was it complete with wiring harness? from a mustang or truck?
Buddy Wilson 80k miles, harness and everything. F150 motor, mustang cams are like $120
@@shotemup123 do you care the compression will be lower because of different pistons or are you boosting?
What about 74 torino? What about the fuel tank
Have 2005 f150 would like a swap gen 3 super charge 10 speed and atlas t case just thinking
Fantastic info thank you.
im at 25k and the engine is not even in the car yet.... I wish I would have stayed with my 347. Problem is you cant find anyone to do the work.
I think for $10,000 I could drop a nice Terminator set up in my 2000 GT...or a built SOHC Mod Motor! My Vortech Supercharged 45K mile mod motor is good for 12.5@111 as it sits, I also run Mustang Challenge car time on the Road Course!!
Buy a cheap v8 new edge and the 3650 bolts right up and u can use the factory k member
I'd just buy a 5.0 from a wrecked mustang with low miles which could run from $2k-7k a transmission shouldn't be much
The cheapest successful build I seen total came up to $7,788 in a 1986 GT... for motor mounts k frame , throttle body , cats , fuel line , and a few computer codes bugs fixed and the rest was plug and play .. would have been cheaper if he didn’t get the bamba cam tune and flo master exhaust setup , and he changed the air filter , and resealed the head gaskets because the engine came out of a junkyard 2011 5.0 GT CS and it sat for a while
To do the job right why can you just say between
$10,000 to $ 25,000
Jason Smith how can you differ 15,000 😂😂
Jason Smith that’s a bigger differ than the price could even cost 😂😂
Its around 10k if you can do all the fab work, or 25k if you pay a shop to do all the work. And anywhere inbetween depending on the amount of work you can do or deals you can find on parts. And depending on what parts you can sell of old motor and trans when finished.
And I’m guess if your going automatic it’s probably a little more expensive
it might be better to buy a salvage mustang
I was thinking the same thing. Buy a gt with what ever coyote gen u need from iac or copart. Buy one that has no front end damage. Theres atleast a good chunk of parts there.
I guess 10,000 to 15,000. A moderate price not on the but not all out.
And that's why. Ls is a better choice cost. Dollar for dollar you can make more hp and more after market support. 400 hp coyote or 1000+hp ls junkyard monster you do the math.
Coyote motors in eBay run from $7000 to 12000 or more then the extras dam looks like 20,000 dammm
Y’all act like the coyote motor is 1000hp motor it’s nothing special lol u can build another motor way cheaper and more power
Coyotes make nasty amounts of power so it kind of is special.
Lay it on us man..
4.6 and 5.4 4v engines are dirt cheap and make huge power . The best for the bang for the buck if you ask me
lucian kristov where would you recommend I buy one, I can’t find any and would like to swap my 3v
just throw a Chevy motor in there
Awesome, appreciate it now i know.
What do you want?
Me:
Yes
How does this not have more likes for this many views? LOL. I didn't do a coyote swap, but i've done a ton of work on my '89 including a motor swap. I've put up a link to the spreadsheet for that here: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1_V8WiL9B40gVKv3JmYOtwokHZr6QtZralGd_cT2gNuM/edit?usp=sharing
couldn't you say x to z,which at 11 min in he did
Hey buddy, if you want to save a ton of money i can save you a few grand on the fuel system for something you never thought of. Let me know if you are buying a fuel system upgrade or if you want to use the stock one?
ckygogo All I am planning is a 255 in tank pump, AFPR, and adapter fittings
Just a lil tech tip for ya, If you don't want to spring for the adapter fitting & AFPR. You can use a stock Vette C5 fuel filter which has a built in regulator. it'll save you a few bucks there like 30 buck brand new
Is that what the strokercoupe guy used? I tried looking that up but didn’t find any additional info on it
Steven Hinkle yes it is, I did the same thing & it works great
ckygogo got any more info on it?
What you need is a crashed coyote . Don’t buy a coyote crate motor , unless you have the money
not to bad bro a built 347 longblock is about 7k alone
exactly thank you. it isn't much more expensive than building a powerful Windsor you can make a ton of power and have perfect driveability and better mpg with the coyote and certainly better reliability compared to a built out the ass stroker plus a 347 stroker usually will only go 100k if you're lucky and take care of it the coyote can go way beyond that.
For all that's being done it's really NOT to $$ when you think about it.
2k in the engine? The engines, if they are worth a shit are 4-7k and that's just the engine
Drop in a 7.0 L and then you'd have something. IMO the 5.0 coyote makes the car sound wicked as it's doors are getting blown off, but that's about it. All bark and no bite.
Save a lot of money and time at the shop and LS swap it.
What happened to building an old 302, carbed, good Lord way to expensive for my blood, wow!!!!!
Brandon Alderson because there slow and weak
I appreciate the video, but it can be slimmed down to ball park figure .
My 1966 Ford Mustang has a inline 6 nothing special
