As some one born and raised in colchester. My favorite part was leaving..... town turned into a shit hole. Town centre soon to be completely dead. If you looking for tesco the town is full of them. Can't help but notice you missed the cost of everything. The castle is a rip off.

Things to do in Colchester….leave!. Colchester used to be a smashing town, but it’s gone down hill since becoming a city. All best shops have gone or moved out of town. Just full of charity shops and Turkish barbers. Used to spend all my weekends here . Walking along some of the pavements feels like your playing squid games.

"Did you know that Colchester is the oldest recordwd town in England?" Yes. I did know that. But thats pretty much the only thing there is to know about colchester haha was a student at essex uni and while i loved the uni, the town really isnt much. Its cute but pretty basic and not much historical things to see. Definitely not a worthy old town. The museum in the castle is well thought through. But apart from that...
how can colchester be the oldest recorded town, it's a city, get it right.
