Completely agree, not a single agent suggests you to buy the LIC Tech term plan, which is the excellent term insurance product of LIC because it has very less commissions for them. So they are more inclined toward selling endowment plans, and in the future as well it will continue to happen. If LIC becomes aggressive in selling its protection plans online, then it might bring up more revenues due to increasing financial literacy.
LIC is not just an insurance company. Im guessing its revenues from dividend income (of the various businesses it has holdings in) itself would be more than its insurance business profits. Its just like info edge ltd, its core business might not have much scope for growth but its investments surpass its core business revenues. So if one is investing in LIC, they indirectly are investing in all those companies in which LIC has investments.
Totally Agree, I was also of the same opinion, also the agents which are taking credit for the growth of the company are the same people which are the root cause of the stagnant/ slow growth. The agents which helped the company grow this big are long gone .
