She says if she(Himeko) got possessed kill her immediately, then Kiana ask "what if one of us get possessed?" Himeko answer that she will never let that happen. So she actually keep her promise
You can think of Otto as "Throwing water on an electrical fire" type of villain. He just tryna fix a problem he has and it's blowing up on everyone's faces
What I love so much about this short is that it shows how much of a skilled and experienced greatsword user Himeko is. In Everlasting Flames, Kiana made a couple of false moves (like jumping in the air during a swing), and mostly used her athleticism and herrscher powers to fight the puppets. While with Himeko, she never made any false moves or jumps in the air (unless she absolutely have to or is propelled by an attack) so she never gives her opponent an easy opening. 21:16 She even uses the weight of her greatsword to contort her body and align her direction back to her opponent; like holy shit her badassery is unrivaled😂. The animators did a great job with those little details. I hope Kiana trains more with her greatsword, and reaches her teacher's level of mastery someday.
That's 10 years of being a valkyrie reaping lives in the battlefield with her greatsword. Probably one of the reasons why she chose to go that way instead of using the serum on herself to purge the honkai within her and live on as a normal human.
Actually - in Honkai Impact 3rd, there’s almost never “you win but you still lose”, because in most battles where you are destined to lose, the fight ends with boss HP above 0. Essentially, it conveys that the player indeed lost. (say, they have a x8HP bar, it might end at x3 or something)

I never hated him though he is a antagonist but he has the reason to. He’s just a type of guy that stays true to his goal and will do anything to achieve it. And the fact that humanity have the technology to fight the Honkai because of him.

He's just a guy whose love of life died indirectly because of him and he was far too weak to stop it, but he is a genius so he dedicated his entire life to bringing her back and giving her a second chance to, in a way, atone for it even thoug more than likely it will result in his own death.
And yet it was because of his machinations that Kiana eventually accepted Sirin. Remember, that was his plan. He wanted to defeat Void Herrsher with power of friendship and love, so that she would eventually join humanity as a fully powered Herrscher even though it would have taken some sacrifices. Hell, that's why he shot Fu Hua. Because Fu hua wanted to interrupt his plan and kill Kiana/Sirin herself since she deemed it far too risky and uncertain to follow his plan
it's insane how this game made me cry in the ugliest, loudest and messiest way possible even tho I've never played it and don't know the name of over half of the characters lol. mihoyo did an amazing job man, and I hope I never have to go thorugh anything like that in genshin
Little tip for people using that final suit on himeko, you can press her ultimate twice and it’ll do a longer move with more damage :) Also I still cry at that cutscene

In my opinion, this is where the true story starts. When *I* say that the story is dark/mature, I don't mean *this*, I mean what comes after. Lesser stories use death to be dark , hold a funeral and call it a day, but this story's true 'meat' is how this death resonated with the characters for good or ill for the chapters to come. This is indeed a tragic story, but more importantly, it shines a light on nature vs nurture, coping with loss, forced maturity (and the resulting lack of it), humanity vs its own extinction, and the human condition against inner and outer adversity. The characters can be said to be superhuman. But what truly shines in this story is their flawed humanity.
Any story that doesn't trivialise deaths understands the true depths of losing someone. Anyone who doesn't trivialise life understands it's significance and builds his/her compassion.
I watched the animation before, despite not knowing what honkai is, it managed to make me cry even though I dont know the characters or never seen them before... the music, the quality, the animation is just so beautiful... im crying again---

I've been playing Honkai for less than half a year, but the Final Lesson made me cry for probably the hundredth time... It's one of the best cinematics, if not the best I've ever seen in Honkai

I remember when I first played through this chapter this cutscene was happening only AFTER a super hard battle or smth like that and you couldn't simply rewatch the scene with a click of a button, you had to redo the fight if you wanted to see it again. As a Fu Hua simp myself and seeing Bwaap loving her. I just gotta say, and yeahhh, no one asked lol. I did download this game because of Fu Hua and all of her battlesuits. Just missing her Azure Empyrea... Anyways, She is really a great character for me. And I love her the most! If you want more of her (she really does have a lot of scenes althrough out the chapters with Kiana) you gotta play until chapter 22 and yep, that's a long way ahead but that's where you gotta see her full potential and a lot of her backstories. The serum she has was suppousedly for her and have a chance to have a new life but instead, she uses it on the one who needs it. Kiana.
I never played honkai but for some reason this himiko vs void kiana scene was recommended to me one day and I actually teared up from it even tho I don't know who these characters were and fell in love with the visuals/animation and ESPECIALLY that song, Nightglow, which may be the reason why I got emotional despite lack of context It almost made me play Honkai but I didn't want to get into another gacha game since 2 is more than enough for me
Bwaap, be sure to read The Second Eruption Manga! Sirin's story is real sad + you get more reasons to hate Otto apocalypse + you see Otto's brief suffering in that one panel where he gets his hair pulled at

I didn't read the manga, but I think in the game where Kiana was in the "simulation" with her mother there were the diaries in the tower of Babylon (I think it's what it's called) which basically told that. Even though it didn't specifically say who's diary that was I think the connection can be drawn.
The basic order will be "Elan Palatinus" (Otto's background story" and then 2nd Erruption (the most important and the best one) then "Encounters in Nagazora" (Optional) you can read this after chapter 9 There's so many other mangas and VNs that is optional for you to read if you want more deeper context, you can search for the order of the story because it also follows the story in-game and animation cutscenes

I cried AGAIN. I've lost the count of how many times I've cried because of this cutscene or just by listening to Nightglow.

PS. In my opinion, this is where the true story starts. When *I* say that the story is dark/mature, I don't mean *this*, I mean what comes after. Lesser stories use death to be dark , hold a funeral and call it a day, but this story's true 'meat' is how this death resonated with the characters for good or ill for the chapters to come. This is indeed a tragic story, but more importantly, it shines a light on nature vs nurture, coping with loss, forced maturity (and the resulting lack of it), humanity vs its own extinction, and the human condition against inner and outer adversity.
The characters can be said to be superhuman. But what truly shines in this story is their flawed humanity.
Any story that doesn't trivialise deaths understands the true depths of losing someone.
Anyone who doesn't trivialise life understands it's significance and builds his/her compassion.

I watched the animation before, despite not knowing what honkai is, it managed to make me cry even though I dont know the characters or never seen them before... the music, the quality, the animation is just so beautiful... im crying again---

bwaap has said he's been burntout with the currents of genshin, and mentioned he will be moving on- which caters to the belief that he has quit or postponed touching genshin indefinitely. please do respect his decisions, let him rest and pursue his channel in the way he intends to. he isn't obligated to churn out content orbiting around genshin for the rest of his lifetime:} it's unfortunate but we must come to learn that it was worthwhile in the end
his honkai content is so much better tbh, he was visibly burnt out on his genshin content and he seems much happier playing honkai. as a honkai and genshin player this is a massive W

The thing that i hate the most about this is the fact that what Otto said was correct. The person who will sacrifice themself will help kiana regain their senses with love. Himeko sacrificed herself and used the vial that was supposed to save her to save kiana instead. Im hating Otto even more nkw

I remember when I first played through this chapter this cutscene was happening only AFTER a super hard battle or smth like that and you couldn't simply rewatch the scene with a click of a button, you had to redo the fight if you wanted to see it again.
Cried a lot then, this scene still makes me cry... ;c

I did download this game because of Fu Hua and all of her battlesuits. Just missing her Azure Empyrea... Anyways,
She is really a great character for me. And I love her the most! If you want more of her (she really does have a lot of scenes althrough out the chapters with Kiana) you gotta play until chapter 22 and yep, that's a long way ahead but that's where you gotta see her full potential and a lot of her backstories.

Still one of the most well done emotional scenes I've ever seen- in games or other media. I sadly MISSED THIS CUTSCENE on my playthrough of the story and was confused as hell for 3 chapters before I realized I had.
A detail only reading the manga would make one appreciate; HoV retreated from injuries literally just before but doubled back to save Bella from being decapitated...

I never played honkai but for some reason this himiko vs void kiana scene was recommended to me one day and I actually teared up from it even tho I don't know who these characters were and fell in love with the visuals/animation and ESPECIALLY that song, Nightglow, which may be the reason why I got emotional despite lack of context
It almost made me play Honkai but I didn't want to get into another gacha game since 2 is more than enough for me

That's related to the 2nd eruption manga actually. The reason why she doesn't want Kiana to get it is... because she didn't get it herself. Or rather she did and then she had it taken away from her. Sirin is jealous. And hateful of humanity. A deadly combination.
This is why the chat in his stream told him to read the manga and he said he will at some point, hope he'll read elan palatinus as well
I didn't read the manga, but I think in the game where Kiana was in the "simulation" with her mother there were the diaries in the tower of Babylon (I think it's what it's called) which basically told that. Even though it didn't specifically say who's diary that was I think the connection can be drawn.
I haven't read any honkai manga yet cause there's a lot of it. Can you tell me if it's had an order to read or i could start with anything?
The basic order will be "Elan Palatinus" (Otto's background story" and then 2nd Erruption (the most important and the best one) then "Encounters in Nagazora" (Optional) you can read this after chapter 9
There's so many other mangas and VNs that is optional for you to read if you want more deeper context, you can search for the order of the story because it also follows the story in-game and animation cutscenes
