Gaunt's Ghosts displays women in combat roles as part of the Tanith First and Only. There's also a saint that's a female, that's a fieldable character for the Sisters army lists. Bro... It seriously saddens me how angry and racists people get when they see any of their beloved characters portrayed by a race other than their own. Earth has hundreds of ethnicities. Earth is one planet. Ultramar has 500 habitable worlds, in a time where all ethnicities of today are likely far gone and there’s likely thousands of ethnicities throughout the Imperium, of all different genetic make ups, colors, melanin content, all adapted to the parts of the planets they grew up on in their solar systems. With genetic survival adaptations kicking in as soon as a few generations in some climates, it’s easier to imagine Gulliman’s sons and all of human kind being very adaptable and diverse in 40,000 AD. 10,000 years after the Space Marine chapters would definitely create new melanin contents within the ranks. I could go on but people really seemed shocked to find out all humans are still 99.9% genetically identical and that the skin color changes are merely climate adaptations, not genetic abnormalities like what were once called races by previous and less educated generations. Moral, race is not real; there is only the human race. Ethnicities are merely subjective experiences based more on family values passed through generations than skin color. The humans in the Grim Dark Future don’t see such stupid and outdated irrationalities as relevant to their cause. They only see humans and expendable resources in the grand scheme of the Emperor. So yes, Space Marines can be different ethnicities. Especially those from Macragge.
Erm..... There are, every so often, anomalies within the status quo of how things typically work.... We title these anomalies the exception to the rule. In war, and military service, it is exceedingly rare, but you can have female officers and troopers who can perform on par or maybe even better in some respects than their male counterpart. Again, it's rare, ESPECIALLY in an aggressive combat situation.

They ended up with a huge crater in their demographic charts that did not fully recover even today, but if they opted to send in women in the same capacity, that crater would become a Mariana Trench. The Geneseed while passing on genetic traits of the Primarch onto the Marines is indeed a thing, it doesn't make them Clones of the Primarch.
Also Marines does NOT only recruit from their own Homeworld, in practice they can also recruit candidats from OTHER worlds that is under the governance of the Chapter.
So they can physicly vary a great deal, even if they will share traits with their Primarchs AND each others.

It seriously saddens me how angry and racists people get when they see any of their beloved characters portrayed by a race other than their own. Earth has hundreds of ethnicities. Earth is one planet. Ultramar has 500 habitable worlds, in a time where all ethnicities of today are likely far gone and there’s likely thousands of ethnicities throughout the Imperium, of all different genetic make ups, colors, melanin content, all adapted to the parts of the planets they grew up on in their solar systems. With genetic survival adaptations kicking in as soon as a few generations in some climates, it’s easier to imagine Gulliman’s sons and all of human kind being very adaptable and diverse in 40,000 AD. 10,000 years after the Space Marine chapters would definitely create new melanin contents within the ranks. I could go on but people really seemed shocked to find out all humans are still 99.9% genetically identical and that the skin color changes are merely climate adaptations, not genetic abnormalities like what were once called races by previous and less educated generations. Moral, race is not real; there is only the human race. Ethnicities are merely subjective experiences based more on family values passed through generations than skin color. The humans in the Grim Dark Future don’t see such stupid and outdated irrationalities as relevant to their cause. They only see humans and expendable resources in the grand scheme of the Emperor. As someone who is greatly against the social-justice warriors in they gaming-industry i can only shake my head about this.
It is canonicly made stated that the guardsmen draft both women and men- basicly throwing everything they have one the enemy. Hell in they case of cadia the entire planets population were guardsmen.
I would get it if they had created a female space marine or male sister of battle, but they didnt.

I’m 100% Anti-Woke as well, but Warhammer Lore has 100% always included female combatants. This is a world of genetic enhancement and a completely lack of femininity, so logic can deduce that their female characters are much stronger and more capable than most. Cant project everything.
You only get to do this when they either:
1.) Come out of nowhere (looking at you Rey)
2.) Are Lore Inaccurate (Female Custodies fits this)
3.) Are more powerful than everyone else for no justifiable reason (looking at you Rey)
4.) undercut other characters to bring them up (looking at you again Rey)
5.) Are Rey from Star Wars

...because constant wars generate insane rate of attrition which has to be balanced out by _someone_ making babies and Imperium does not plan like our politicians, ie. for one term and a cushy job in private sector but for entire generations ahead and NOBODY gives a damn that Susan or some other Helen wants to be a soldier?
Granted, the sheer number of people in the Imperium suggests real bottleneck is somewhere between interstellar transport capacity and production capacity for materiel, so yes, female soldiers are nothing grating even for that setting. Hilariously, though - worlds like Cadia, which are argued as the most optimal place to find women soldiers, should be the least likely to have them. After all, they are supposed to generate massive number of soldiers for campaigns abroad while, at the same time, securing EoT and having their planet periodically ravaged. Unless massive numbers of settlers -are- were brought in to balance out the bleeding (but not too many, because Cadian martial culture would be inevitably diminished), it makes absolutely no sense demographically unless there's some secret undercaste of Cadian women having 20+ babies in Mechanicum Baby Factory.
Each _frontline_ soldier in a modern army requires 10+ other soldiers in typically non-combat roles (until Tyranids descend on a field hospital etc). This is where extreme majority of female soldiers should be placed by any war-obsessed regime*. In fact, this is precisely what Soviets were doing in their desperate years, freeing up low-tier male soldiers for the trenches. They ended up with a huge crater in their demographic charts that did not fully recover even today, but if they opted to send in women in the same capacity, that crater would become a Mariana Trench. And, heh, their war lasted barely few years...

At that point even small difference in physical capacity between equally trained men and women becomes a large difference due to being multiplied by 1,00000000000 or something and minuscule number of exceptions is not worth logistical effort.
