On one hand this show not having met recognition makes it unique, on the other it just pisses me off how little I can speak about it since I don't know anyone who's watched it
As Russian, I’m surprised that an American TV-show portrayed the Soviets not as barbaric degenerates, but as tough professionals and even picked up Russian speaking actors for secondary roles. Despite several inaccuracies, visible during the show, I definitely enjoyed it. Authors tried to avoid political propaganda and comparing to modern Russian cinema, which produces more anti-Soviet propaganda, than Hollywood in 1980s, I can assume that even Russians themselves can’t portrait Soviet Union like this today. Literally every modern historical movie or TV show about the USSR in Russia is anti-Soviet, while Americans made a TV-show with actual respect for their Soviet rivals.
My dude I am Greek but I 've heard stories from the cold war especially in Germany which was split in four segments.My grandpa used to tell me stories about how Berlin was a spy stronghold and about corrupt politicians and undercovered spies no wonder the show was actually based on a true spy family with the main member being Andei

So out of sheer curiosity, I searched this intro and I’m not sure which picture it is exactly, pretty sure it’s the one of the family at end with the faces blurred out. Curious to know if anyones gotten deeper in this rabbit hole…
Ok update : it’s definitely the family in the end sitting on the porch, went back to the post, found that detail and yeah. I went frame by frame and noticed the faces were blurred out before the superimposed those images of others atop there faces . Utterly useless and trivial information, interesting nonetheless. May give this show a try…
