OH MY GOODNESS! No you did NOT make my favorite dish!!! I was just in Publix and saw some frozen shepherd’s pie and just felt so down because of course it’s not carni friendly. How fortuitous that you posted this video! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!! I literally am shedding happy tears🥲🥲🥲 You are just awesome!!!
I have made a version of this many times with your Carnivore Mashed Potatoes!! Great recipe! Blue cheese is my "secret ingredient." Your finished product is a bit more elegant than mine! lol
As a kid we always had shepherds pie with ground beef, as an adult and cheese loving family I add a layer of cheese between the meat and potatoes....oh I can't wait for fall/winter time now so I can crank up my oven and make some of this 🥰! Love what you did with the egg wash on the potatoes never thought of that. Your awesome man keep up the great work.
Omgosh that pie is gorgeous!!! I have your mashed tators in the freezer section of my kitchen at all times. I like a few yolks in mine. Of course I put my own spin on it.
This is what I have been waiting for ever since I first seen your mashed potatoes video. I’m making your newest spaghetti noodle recipe today, but this is definitely next on my list. Curious about your updated mash recipe. I hope Mel is feeling better and fully recovered. Thank you so much.
Some have streamlined his mash recipe by using egg whites from hard boiled eggs that way you don't have to babysit the egg whites like he did in his original recipe
This also traps the sulfur gases inside the shell and will lead to a stronger egg smell and flavor in the final product, which is why I don’t recommend doing that. “Babysitting” the eggs has a purpose.
Yes!! Chris, I just love that you used a piping bag for the mashed potatoes-so clever & so bougie looking! And I think we can tell you used to own a bakery because it looked like a yummy/fancy dessert when you were done with the top. 😄 Perfect comfort food I can’t wait to make. (Love your hair, Ash! 😍)
It looks incredible Chris. I'm pretty strict with carnivore now. No herbs or spices. I'm planning on making more of your recipes once I get to my goal weight. I love your carnivore pancakes. I think I'll have them around Christmas. My carnivore is pretty simple atm. Mostly beef. It's been helping me. I can't wait to have my surgeries so I can get better. I'm still waiting on test results to see if I have skin cancer. I'm leaning on Father God to get me through that. Lovely to see Ash as well. ❤
I am SO EXCITED to see a recipe for mashed “potatoes” that doesn’t use cauliflower. Mashed cauliflower is NEVER in any way an acceptable substitute for mashed potatoes. Can’t wait to try this!
Gadget lover here loves that (my) meat chopper 😂❤❤ Keep it up you two! Ash, I need to borrow him for a week in my kitchen cuz the results would be a month worth of food! 😂 Yeah, can’t afford THAT! 🤷🏼♀️🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Y’all are awesome! ❤❤
@@ChrisCookingNashville I can try it and find out. I have been cooking since the kids have been gone, this is day two of kitchen time. Chuck roast, Rump roast and a full brisket, love having chunks in the freezer ready for a quick dinner. 😊
I also made a version of this back when you first came out with your mashed potato recipe. It was great! Ash, I also didn't know Sheppard's pie was made with lamb. I never heard of Cottage pie. My mother called it something different growing up. Not sure why, but her family called it China pie. At least that is what is sounded like. They all have a thick Italian accent, so not sure what they really meant to call it.
Hey there! I haven’t tried myself but I think conceptually it makes sense it should work no problem. I’d suggest baking right before serving so freeze first and then bake later. You’ll get a better final product. Thaw then bake or if you bake frozen you’ll probably need to reduce the oven by 50 or more degrees and increase baking time. Not exactly sure how much unless I experiment though.
Now I'm trying to remember if the "Shepherd's Pie' I've gotten in Irish pubs (in the U.S.) were beef or lamb. I think they were beef, but it's been so long I don't remember. 🤔
A couple of the Irish pubs I used to go to have closed, but Erin's Snug has "Shepherd's Pie" that's ground beef, lamb, gravy, vegetables and topped with Colcannon. Colcannon is an Irish dish that's a mix of mashed potatoes and cabbage.
@@ChrisCookingNashville the reason I tended to go to Irish pubs was to get Bangers and Mash or Shepherd's Pie for St Paddy's Day. 😁 After I went Keto in 2019, I made cauliflower mash Colecannon with corned beef. Corned beef is more Irish American than Irish, but then again so am I. 😁 If I remember correctly, Irish bangers tend to have carby fillers (oatmeal maybe?).
Thanks for all your awesome recipes. Could you do a vid where you show a week or two of meals where the meals build on each other. Like if you have leftovers from one meal how you could use in another meal. Like tacos one night Cincinnati spaghetti the next. Your sushi rice then maybe a stir fry? What kitchen tools do you feel you need for recipes? Food processor and? Thank you for all you do
I love your wife, she's genuine and I trust her review. BUTTT, what if you got an outsider taste tester? Maybe even one who eats a standard diet and see what they say. Just an idea. Looks amazing tho.
Definitely trying this, I loved both shepherds and cottage pie! And, please, if you’re looking for something to make, consider a Michigan pasty, or hand held meat pie! I have tried many “carnivore” pastry recipes for this, but can’t quite get it right.
I love you and what you do, but the strange coloring, moving too much and all the blurry filming is bad for my eyes and making me feel like I will get a headache. I have to keep looking away and it made it hard to finish watching the video. I appreciate trying new filming techniques, but I personally can't handle it. Maybe it's just an older woman thing. I do love you and Ash, and your recipes are the best! Keep up the great work! Blessings.
First of I love your Recepies but I have a Question did you change your lighting in this Video because everything thats white or yellow in this Video has a sort of glow that hurts my Eyes ?
I also see that you're a speaker for next years Carnivore Retreat. Well done, you!
Thanks! 😊😊😊
Lots of ideas here! I know we keep asking for a cookbook but each video is like a "cookbook" all on its own!
Thanks 😊👍🏼
You have made this Irishman extremely happy!!
Haha I’m so glad 😊😊😊

Aww thank you 😊❤️
Piping bag. Brilliant! I am doing that from now on.
Thanks! Makes it much easier. 😊
We always call it Shepard's Pie and we use ground beef. Thanks for the mashed potatoes tip. Cheers!

I've never eaten Shepherd's pie! I watched because I'm looking for ways to cook ground beef. This is a recipe I didn't know I need, but I do! Thanks!
You’re so welcome! So glad you’re here and I hope you enjoy. 😊
I can't wait to make this, but more than that I can't wait to TASTE this!

Chris, Ash and Mel, good morning. Chris again amazing. I can’t wait to have a kitchen again. Have a great rest of your weekend. thank you.

WOW, Chris, that looks awesome!!!
Thanks a bunch! 😊

This is definitely on my list to make soon! Just made your crustless quiche today, and it was very, very good! 👍

A restaurant would be Too expensive and time consuming.
Correct
This is on our menu for tonight! Thanks Chris & Ash!

Hope you enjoy! 😊❤️
I love my meat chopper-game changer!! I can’t wait to try this, thanks once again Chris!!!
Hope you enjoy 😊😊😊
The best recipes!
Glad you think so! 😊❤️
it might make it more interesting texturally to add chopped hard-boiled egg white and small pieces of bacon to the ground beef
Bacon isn't in a shepard's pie traditionally.
If you’d like to try you could certainly do that.

I am right there with Ash about the name, my Nana did the same and it was always Shepherd’s Pie!

We sure enjoy it too. 😊

Hello neighbors 😊😊
Hey neighbor! 😊😊😊
what veggies would go well in this to make it keto? green beans is all i can think of
Green beans, cabbage fried in butter, chopped asparagus, diced and fried zuchinni, etc. would be really good. 😊
We have called this made with ground beef Shepard's pie all my life, LOL I think it was a Campbell's soup recipe by that name!
Haha makes sense to me
@@ChrisCookingNashville I looked on Campbell's website, and sure enough, a Shepard's Pie recipe with ground beef. ;-)
There ya go. Haha
Have you or can you come up with a good pretzel dough recipe to make a burger buns? 😊
