Hey bro, i am absolutely in love with your project as i said in your first video! As a fellow Empire enthusiast (i got "only" three Empire thematic armies lol) i hope you'll accept a humble tip or two in the assembling and painting of your GREAT Marienburg themed army. - Start to paint the most basic unit to study the color theme, the heraldry and the positioning. - There are NO error in painting your army. Actually, its YOUR painting history on display and you should be proud of seeing how good you have become through every unit, from start to finish. - An empire army is characterized, like many, from it's centerpiece. If i understood correctly you are planning to put a friggin' Landship in it, so when it comes to that put extra effort in both modelling and painting, it will be the first thing that catch everybody's eye when you show your army. - If you don't feel confident enough, you can always commission the painting of the centerpiece to a studio. But ONLY for the centerpiece! - Variation is the key to spectacularization. But judging the roster you've picked you are a-ok in that area! The only thing i might suggest would be a GW Black dragon and a Elf Lord on it to make an nice version of Asarnil the Dragonlord, wich is perfect for a Dogs of War army such as yours! - Paint, if you can, _every day_ . Just for a hour, just for half-an hour even and maybe just priming, but do it everyday, trust me. It will get esier and less of a chore! - Hot pockets should be left to rest 5 minutes before eating, the cheese is like lava. Sorry for the giga comment but i amrelly thrilled to see haow it will all come togheter. For Sigmar, brother!

So I'm happy to see a video about a concept army on RUclips. I appreciate you showing it to us and I look forward to see how it turns out. This is an awesome journey. Back when I had aspirations of building my own Warhammer army I wanted to go very thematic too, less about winning strategies, more about tying the units together in a story. Also the same way I built Magic decks back in the day. That meant I got trounced a lot, but for me the fun was in building the story and the deck. And I really don't blame you for your hesitancy, back when I first got into painting minis the hardest brush stroke for me was the first one. Once I had color on something I was committed, but actually getting started? I was so afraid of ruining things.
It’s such a fun way to build an army to me, just follow the inspiration. Though I’m sure I’ll be cursing myself when I get to the table! My in universe justification for any bizarre army lists is that Ponsard Trudot was just enlisting whichever mercenaries were available and that he could afford, even if they don’t make for a well considered force!

@@jordansorcery A lot of the Empire Miniatures have either feathers in their headwear or have tied ribbon bandages on their arms, which is a nice way to tie in everyone as belonging to one regiment, your paint the core hand to hand troops and the your two Detachment's (if that rule's still a thing?) with the same spot colour feather/bandage.

Great project JS. Love the old hammer models. For Marienburg, I would go heavy gunpowder and low cavalry. Sophisticated artillery as the city is rich and they have lots of ships and cannons etc.
Back in the days I started the project of raising a mercenary army based on Morgen Bernards troops from the old Dark Omen Warhammer PC game. I had quite some of the different units assembled together before I finally repainted most of them for a more standardized Empire army.

During an attempted druchii invasion of Marienburg, no less.
