As a 54 year old skater who never took his foot off the gas so to speak, this episode spoke volumes to me. From the dynamic of ankle rolls while performing mundane tasks, the difference of skating at 40 to 50, & the magnitude of Bucky's accomplishments, this was all gold! Oh & thanks so much Tony for picking my 540flip footplant in your #tonyhawkweek at the berrics a few years back. Even though were the same age, it makes me feel like a little kid that You even saw my skating, let alone picked it to be featured. That's quite a profound effect you have lol Best of luck healing up & Thanks again for everything you guys-- Great episode!
Im watching this after having surgery this morning and you guys made me feel better.Thank You Mr. Hawk for being such an inspiration and Thank You Mr. Ellis for helping me bring some levity to my situation.
The fear of walking is so Real! People take it for granted. I've sustaiend many Hip Knee and Leg injuries, breaks, and tears over the years. When you can only walk a certain way and not be pain every step counts. My partner and friends have come to understand if we're out and I go super quiet it's cause I'm hyper focusing on my steps cause jagged, uneven, or poorly kept side walk is comming and I'm trying to preplan and then take every step along the way.
How are there not more people listening/watching this show!? Two of my idols growing up that are extremely talented and hilarious! Most underrated podcast out right now.
I've only got two words for Tony Hawk: Rehab United (Sports/P.T. clinic in San Diego). Rehab United is right in Tony's backyard, but I'm sure he has no clue they exist. They work with professional athletes as well as your everyday injured worker like me. They gave me back my quality of life after dealing with a lower back injury for years. This place is just different; super hands-on with stretches, exercises, and torture techniques that you've never even heard of. They watch you like a hawk (pun intended), so no cheating. I've seen clips of Bucky Lasek doing the kind of core/flexibility work that Tony most definitely should be doing at his age. The real question is: Will Tony surround himself with "Yes" men after a 2nd surgery? Rehab United, ask for one of the Hill brothers; Bryan or Sean. Do it, Birdman.
You can tell the birdman is feeling way better this trip around! No worries the goat will be back! With nothing to prove, because he's already done it! ✔️ 🔥
Good to see you back alright tony! We all wish you a fast recovery. Thank you for taking your time to record this episode right after everything. Congrats Jason for being such a nice friend. Cheers from Brazil!
You be sk8ing be 4 u know it. Y'all my favorite show . Y'all have no idea how much this show is needed. Much respect and love . Say Jason when we going get stand up special .
Watching Tony and Jason do the manscaped plug absolutely made my day. Clearly reading it for the first time and not a damn clue what they’re trying to sell you hahaha.
Jason, they call it a nail because they nail it into the bone like a railroad spike; when I got an intermedulary rod in a broken tibia the surgery was described as “brutal” by multiple witnesses.
Got the swelling where you can’t bend your knee to attempt a normal walk. My nurse calls it the peg leg walk. Shoes and socks (and tights for me ) is awful. I just got one of those sock assist things so I don’t have to ask for help. Shoes are hard. And Jason I love the sinead shirt!!!!!
I’m pretty sure that we’re talking about the legendary hipper milking Charlie Wilkins ,one of the Maximus locals in the Boston Cambridge Massachusetts area …He was amazing ,I’m pretty sure that he got sponsored ripping the park at one of the Powel demos as local killing it dude and then that’s how he got on Powel…the black pudding machine toothpaste effect was like The last clock never ending can of jellied cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving day… heal up Tony , you guys are awesome let’s skate
Late the party on this ep. but it's so good to see Tony's face smiling after the surgery. It was hard seeing him so bummed the last episode. Also, can I just say the friendship these too have and their chemistry make this podcast beyond top tier. So many laughs HvW crew keep it rollin!
Best episode yet Got injured by getting chased by some fake cop Ended up ruining my leg / body mad pain killing 💊 etc . Finally sober 30 years later No alcohol no pills no bs street garage Thank you for that this show is best when you all are just jiving Thank you again Great advice
Good work John. Opioids/opiates are no joke, a whole class of drug to stay the fuck away from. They tend to appear in people's lives around moments of doubt and pain (injuries being most obvious, but also other multiple, less apparent causes/influences) and they convince us, despite reason, logic and knowledge that we're benefiting from their use. Skaters beware. Sorry for the rant but good onya John, stoked for ya and inspired. Thanks Tony, thanks Jason you've both stoked and inspired another old Melbs skater to get back on board, on vert and generally lift his fkg game, addictions included. Legends. Thank you.
Good to see THPS seeming like he’s feeling alright after the surgery. Hoping you get back to the level you wanna be at, we all pulling for you! Had an ankle break after 15yrs skating and it ended my skating days. Lately I almost wish it’d re-break so I can fix it right this time and skate again.
Jason Declutter your mind. Reset. Empty your cup and fill it with receiving gratitude for the past, the present and what the future holds for you bro. Damo
I’ve found walking the opposite, I never get hurt rolling my ankle walking “normal,” all my ligaments feel permanently stretched from my younger years skating everyday(I’m 3 weeks from my 40th right now. I did however snap the neck of my femur hopping/tripping off my tall motorcycle in my driveway though, so I guess it breaks even, though the hip was blamed on celiac’s disease by my doctors.
I just rolled my ankle 3 nights ago walking at night. Ended up laying in the road.i broke my ankle years ago learning crooked grinds. I know that feeling
@@toddtwist Oh right i see. P.S Thanks for the skate gear you sell me, I'm still waiting for something signed off you 😁👍 Have a great Christmas and new year x
@jason I think it was Charlie Wilkins in the 411 video issue 27 1998 watch@7:40 👍 Whats that coming out of your leg Charlie ? Chocolate pudding ? Blood clot dude!! lol
Ankles. Talk about timing. I carry mail for the post office and walk a good 10 miles a day . Rolled my ankle on a sidewalk a month ago delivering mail . Still out of work #anklelife
I feel like not eating in the short term like the day of/ or morning of, gives you a bit of an edge, more drive, wonder if that helped him in the early competitions
Tony, you mentioned that you use to not eat before a contest. Was this after reading the “Skate Tip” in Skateboarder magazine? There was an article by Dorian "Doc" Paskowitz that suggested that an empty stomach would give you better balance.
Great shit lads I use to do FMX shows in Aus and yup stay on unless coming up short then bail out haha..I use CBD oil for all my pain Tony it's the best your not high but kills the pain....
I absolutely remember that video with the guy squirting the clotted blood out of his hip into the bathtub. no idea what video or what Skeeter that was but I definitely have that clip burned into my brain
1 of 2 things or both need to happen Tony & Ellis need to start a second podcast nothing but promos , informative , entertaining and funny as hell . #2 all other podcast channels HIRE Tony & Ellis to do the promos
I seen on reddit Jason is "having a meltdown" on his pod about Luis and him not fighting at Ellismania. Can someone feel me in on that because I don't listen to Jason's show much. Does he talk about it on here?

Half the reason I watch this show is purely for Tony’s laugh ❤ it’s infectious and I love seeing/hearing it every time!
Glad the surgery went well; rooting for your recovery!
Watching Tony and Jason do the manscaped plug absolutely made my day. Clearly reading it for the first time and not a damn clue what they’re trying to sell you hahaha.
Out of all the podcasts that I have seen the manscaped advert, this was by far the funniest

Love that Jason is famous now still remember the 411’s with Jason been famous to me for a long time
Heal up Tony, we will be here . Happy Birthday Riley!! Saw you on tour with Acid King, good times!!

I got to meet tony at the show he preformed at right before this uploaded, will never forget it love you guys
bullet train is a really fun movie to watch
Fear of walking is 100 percent! That was a conversation I have had with my wife and she thought I was crazy!
I glued rhinestones all over my wheelchair. Super cool that Tony painted his crutches.
I slipped on the ice the other day walking my dog. I bounced up quickly and felt fine but thought how many more years if this I have left.
Take the time to rebuild your body like Stevie Williams did and come back fresh. Don’t Rush it!
1:02:00 much like the shirt Jason nothing compares to you. Keep pushing forward. 👏
Shout out to these legends.
absolutely phenomenal episode, had me in tears laughing, and those ManScape reads are brilliant.
I love y’all’s banter
25:48 "the game was out and you had a fu*kin Honda?" 😂😂
46:00 the ankles!! 😄 🤣 yup I know that too well

Got me googling civil war crutches
I just rolled my ankle 3 nights ago walking at night. Ended up laying in the road.i broke my ankle years ago learning crooked grinds. I know that feeling
I had that same car in brown!! Fuqin loved that thing!
Thor, he is the reason it’s called thursday.. comes from Thorsdag or Torsdag.
Pretty sure you're talking about Charlie Wilkins with the hip blood clots. Although I believe Frankie had something similar.
I want to see a channel where Ellis reviews movies. Just the way he started explaining Troll, it would be hilarious.
Honestly I don't know how Tony doesn't know Thor and all that I mean even just names
Still the best ad read duo in any podcast
Talking about rolling your ankle..."fear of walking is real" 😂 I know this feeling
The hip injury Ellis was mentioning is the one and only Charlie Wilkins! Boston's finest
Matt Hoffman needs to be on the show!!
best show!!! You guys rule.
Pretty sure that hip thing was Jeremy rogers in a toy machine video
Jason - That blood clot thing was Buckys elbow... Unless there another !
I think it was Charlie in the 411 video.
Whats that coming out of your leg Charlie ? Chocolate pudding ? Blood clot dude!! lol
@@ExploringwithCarl Yeah I think Buckys one was his elbow, not his hip.
@@toddtwist Oh right i see.
P.S Thanks for the skate gear you sell me, I'm still waiting for something signed off you 😁👍 Have a great Christmas and new year x

Fleecy short shorts - yep. Same here.
I thought most people, especially older people, knew that Thor was a Norse god.
People are more likely to know now than ever, what with the last 10 years of movies with Thor in.
I feel like not eating in the short term like the day of/ or morning of, gives you a bit of an edge, more drive, wonder if that helped him in the early competitions

That Honda... 👌
"We were in the back of the car on acid and we touched crystals and the sprinklers turned on." Haha that would have blown my mind too Jason.
Thanks for making the Monday and most hilarious intro ever 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
Much Love 🇿🇦❤️🤘🏻🛹
Jack Syphilis 😂
Isn’t that Johnny Depp’s character in Pirates of the Caribbean?

Jack Syphilis is actually my name.

On walking: as a tall guy i'm always certain i'm going to bonk branches and low hanging infrastructure
Close call ankle rolls 🤣
Fiberglass splinters are so damn painful. Picked up my buddies old fiberflex one day and it filled my hand with splinters. Don't recommend.
im sure you could change a set of spark plugs in a car thoe right tony....easy as a kick flip
Think it was Jereme Rogers with that hip injury that had him leaking blood clots into a bath
Wat happened to tonies room ? Budget cuts,? They re held up in some bunker somewere
So liquid death just pays people to talk behind their cans these days ? Great content here guys thanks
Sitting here listening to these 2 talking about being 50 and skating....and realised I'm now 50 and skate. Wtf.
