Glad you like the mounts! For installation though it is MUCH easier to leave the main bolt in the mount in place (just tighten to ~20ftlbs so the gap is taken up, don't overtighten) when installing the engine. You can rotate the mounts up, drop the engine near in place, then flip the mounts down and wiggle into place. That is why the holes are oval, to allow the engine to wiggle into place on final install. Once the bolts are tight it wont move at all, although locktite on the bolts is probably a good idea. Installing like you did will be much harder trying to align the main mount bolt. As far as vibration, on the 99-06 trucks the VAST majority of people can't tell the difference between my mounts and stock mounts. Even my solid mounts the vast majority of people dont notice any additional vibration, so I think you will be fine there. The 07-13 trucks are a little more susceptible since the harmonics on that body style are less forgiving, but the 99-06s generally never have issues.
instead of ordering a thread chaser, just take one of your old tork-to-yield head bolts and cut a couple slots down the side of the threads with a cutoff wheel. It works great to clean out the threads.
I installed those motor mounts on my truck in 2018 (2010 GMC sierra z60 full bolt on) best thing I ever did I got to where I had to replace mounts once a week even with limit straps
My 03 Z71 started loosing coolant like mad a month ago. A careful exam found no external leaks. Oil is clear, no foam on oil filler cap, no white smoke out of exhaust. I lost a gallon in 200 miles. I gave up and “stop leaked” it. It stoped. I’m going to pull plugs and look for an “outlier”. I’ve seen the videos about porous head castings. Pondering an LQ9 swap with long tubes, AFR heads, mild cam swap. Thanks for sharing your experience and expertise. Stay warm. Dave in Omaha
Check your auxiliary heater lines. Mine started leaking randomly only in very cold weather, in the rear end half near y pipe flange. I think there's quick connects that are giving up the ghost for me. Never saw coolant in driveway. Seems to only leak while driving.
Any bets on if Matt is going to have to loosen those mount bolts on the frame to get them to line back up on install. That was a super tight fit. Those are Nice Mounts!
Would you recommend rebuilding the bottom end or just leave it be and build the top end with cam, new gaskets, lifters and etc to make it reliable? I also heard of installing a Dunbar something like that it's like a dog bone shape to project oil and reduce failure. I got a 00 suburban with the 5.3 and I got 215k roughly. I'm only looking to make maybe 460 to 500 HP tops. What would you recommend?
Matt. I have an 05 Tahoe LT with the factory air ride. I want to take that common body role out. What do I need to do and do I have to delete the air ride if I add sway bars?
Ever heard of cam ground pistons, made in a certain way so when they heat up they seal up the cylinders. They do it on General Aviation Otto Cycle Engines
Hey LsxMatt are you familiar with this youtube video on the head unit. I remember you install a new head unit some time ago. Did you run into any issues. ruclips.net/video/-OVwmQx8Slo/видео.html

Done this 100+ times works great
Cut a slit into one of the old head bolts to make a thread chaser. I've been doing this for years, works great. Love the videos.
I need a set of them mounts, I think they will be a must

Brake clean and paint the engine Matt!! It will be satisfying!
I enjoyed your bucket of bolts / nuts, felt right at home. LOL
Been running a set of those mounts for nearly 4 years daily - hands down worth every penny
they are good?

Do you have 706 heads? They commonly crack around the head bolts. Pop off the valve covers and see if there’s milk residue slung all over the covers
Thanks Jacob. Dave

I would check the transmission fluid if it's an automatic....

I would have used some rust converter on it. Great video!
AFP make's great stuff. I need to get my motor mounts put on also, hopefully this spring.
Great video and happy New Years Matt
Cheers 🍻
Got to get me one of those air tools

Matty, how come you didn't "Tank" the block?
Matt you're going to want the bolts a little loos when you go to drop the engine in with how tight the mounts are.
i want know how did your 2 battery set up do on her ?
What year is the back Cadillac glass and taillight that's on your Tahoe you never mentioned year
Just did mine but stock should have got these
Just use a old head bolt and take a dremel and make to lines on each side and run it in the block and that will do the trick.
Maybe the next video will be on the Firebird 🥲
Keep up the videos! Always get excited when I see you’ve posted.
Boss, what is the thread cleaner called for the head bolts? I’ve been trying to search for it. LM7
Arp makes it, you can get it on amazon. ARP 912-0011 11mm x 2.00 Thread... www.amazon.com/dp/B004PLCKEO?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Coming back as soon as the Tahoe is running👍

That's a lot of piston rock... good luck sir lol
Crazy thing is it'll pry run another 300k regardless

How can one of your RUclips viewers gift you a DIY vehicle lift?
do it!
You think he might have so.e for a 08 silverado
Damn last time I was this early my wife got pregnant with our fourth son
I have a set of those. Unfortunately they didn't pass the wife test. Too much vibration in the cab
this engine mount cause engine vibration?
ah the wife test, making men unhappy since the dawn of time
I would paint it white that’s just me
