Thanks for your soft approach to bring him to life... I needed to hear this message today. My mind is worried about not having a job, and it is hard to just BE. Thanks
Thanks for sharing this. I really am only just getting into Montaigne but I really resonate with what little I've heard of him and I am hungry for more.
Good job! Thank you very much for introducing Montaigne ! He's a real noble and gentlemen. Your voice and citations are great. I've been reading Sarah Bakewell's book, A life of Montaigne. Enjoy it and learn a lot of insights. Please continue to introduce good books and authors. Thanks again!
enjoyed this - just started reading the Cohen edition of the Montaigne's essays, and finding some a bit hard to get through. Any tips on the best ones to read? (will definitely read 'on experience' next!)
Thanks! Some of my favorites are "On friendship," "On experience," and "On some verses of Virgil." Take it slow! Montaigne is worth spending time with.
Then edited by someone and there were ancient essays burnt down by genghis Kahn, there's Anselm.. aquinas... I threw them out, his essays. Then they stopped writing philosophy.
