The problem with a lot of this i wonder is that you have outsiders who are not students who join the peaceful protest that are anti-Semitic and hurl threats and use language that is intimidating.
However, I could be wrong, and they are all students who don't know how to protest peacefully. But I get the occupying the building as those would be students that are not causing any harm to people that have access to the hall. I'd like to know what percentage of students are in the protest and if there is any documentation or proof of Antisemitism from actual students vs. citizens. Citizens cannot be held accountable, but students can and, therefore, the university is deemed liable. But you need solid proof of that hearsay isn't proof !
There absolutely are gonna be non-students there, as there tend to be at protests like this. I wouldn't be surprised if they're the majority of the criminal instigators, but the some students themselves would be just as likely to do stuff like that.
@CornyBum the main complaint of what the report is stating is that the university is failing to keep students safe. I'm trying to understand who in danger, and occupying a physical space is not dangerous.
But the story changes to intimidation behavior of Antisemitism towards Jewish people counter protesting. But I'm just trying to understand who is who ? Who are the students, and who doesn't go to the school? The people who are not students should be removed from the campus. It's still a public space, but the students should be more organized as it's their protest, not the publics.
If the public wants to protest they can in other spaces, only because this hurts the students and not everyone's perspective matches up.
So if the students don't feel safe becuase of the public coming to the school and sluring Antisemitism that would make the university liable, and they would have to prove that. Right now it's not looking good for the university.
@@WeylandLabs Yes, it really muddies the waters when you have a mix of different people, even different organizations or causes, mingling in a protesting group. I've never been in a protest but have observed this happening enough in videos to consider it a very common and almost unpreventable feature.
More specifically to your concern (or rather, the fearful students'), the university would basically have to set up gatekeeping measures for either the campus or the spaces sanctioned for protesting. Either way, it's likely demanding for their staff and will encounter lots of opposition from the protestors.
It seems to be the tradeoff experienced by nearly every protest: it gains visibility and power as more join, while those leading it, if they care at all, are losing control of sovereign citizens choosing to protest as they see fit, while rubbing shoulders with others doing the same--and some will commit crimes at some point while doing so. To try controlling this is to face the steep uphill battle of wrangling a mob, but the norm of not really doing much about it (if at all) is that the protest can switch to a mob very quickly.
RUclips wont let me post a negative comment on the protestors

The passion is understandable but conflict very complex, it has roots that span to even ancient history. A more comprehensive understanding of the issue would lend itself to a more effective message and movement. As opposed to fanning the flames of discord and unrest. That is what the authoritarian regimes that act as instigators want, to destabilize western democracies. They don't want a movement that applies focused pressure to those who can actually effect change and begin to diminish barriers to effective diplomacy. Young one's, you already have the worlds attention now. You also have minds with amazing potential lets use it to it's fullest potential that's more effective, that way when speak you can be heard. Not give it over to our baser insticts, it will be less effective.
