    This turned out very pretty😊 I feel like patience is definitely key to getting the result you want, as you said developing more layers helps a lot :) I have to step away from a piece as well sometimes because I’ll have a warped image of it in my mind from staring at it for so long, a day or two break can really help you see it from a fresh and clear perspective again:)

    • @NaomiCoutureArt
      @NaomiCoutureArt  3 года назад

      Yes I agree so much, people want instant results results and want the work to be done with layer and it’s just not going to happen. I’m big fan of stepping away for a couple days. I have found something I disliked before I was actually pretty happy with when coming back to it 😃

    HI! So glad I found your channel my name is (babyboomer Newbie on discord) Very nice to see a artist from CAD. Its is great that you put U.S and CAD links .I just bought derwent water brushes and the watersoluble set of 6 wanted to try this out .I'm new at every medium so losts of catch-up to do to watch your videos and thumb-up! Please make a video to tell us how you became such Great mutli-media artist! Thank you so much for sharing your talent ! Cheers from Québec🇨🇦

      Yay for another Canadian! Thank you so much for the compliment 😍 but trust me I’m not great at everything lol. But a lot of it is honestly focusing on the values in your piece so this video is great for that. I want to do more basic charcoal and graphite like this because their fun and you learn the basics. Then transitioning into other mediums is easier. That might actually make for a good video topic! I’m so glad your enjoying my videos, thank you 😃

      @@NaomiCoutureArt I build up my studio with many mediums, but what I really like the most is photorealism portraits and dogs in graphite and colors pencils and pastels.....this is what i'm focusing on now and will later do other mediums. There is so many Fantastic Artist here on Y Tube I have been learning tremendously just in the past 06 months , also bought many course on UDEMY! the courses are on sale less the 20 $ very often Super Great Deals..... and So much fun! 😀

      @@fotoalive that’s great. If you see the recent art haul video I did I just got some pastel pencils and some oil pastels and pastel. I have used pan pastels with colored pencils on top. I love doing dog and cat portraits but I did 3 for Christmas so I’ve been doing other things lately. I’m thinking of doing a cat or dog eye study with colored pencils as a few have requested it ☺️

      @@NaomiCoutureArt I first discovered pastels with pencil Colin Bradly Art, bought his course UDEMY , then run into Pan pastels I just fall in love I have over 40 colors did not use it much so far,but I think we definately could use more tutorials with pan pastels , Portraits and Landscape . I love Julia Woning channel she is really Great at it!

    Just finish viewing the video . I wonder how do you make the water flow out of these brushes ? with the Derwent i have ,sometimes it seems to flow by itself then i try to press on the upper part of the tube where i put my fingers to get the water out and it does not do anything can you tell me what is the trick to get the water flowing out ? You deserve a lots more thumb-up for this video Great Job!

      Thank you so much 😍. That’s a great question. The ones I got off Amazon have a stopper on them so water won’t flow out freely. I have to push it to let some water out. Then it comes down to practice controlling it. And I find having paper towel near by to test how wet it is helps. Practice on a scrap piece of paper doing some swatches and blending them out starting with very little water and then using more and more. Once you get you’ll like them. However if I’m doing a large area that I need smooth blending I’ll pick a regular watercolor brush just because it’s easier. Hope that helps a bit.
