ActiveTrack 3.0 looks like an improvement from the previous version. This is very nice especially when following kids around (but not in a creepy way).
Calling it now, DJI will be adding this same magnetic mount to drone remotes! It would be really convenient to swap between and they'll get free advertisment with every phone with a magnetic mount on it. Really clever move DJI!
Impeccable review.I have a note 9 it shoots in slow mo but im not able to find the option in the memo app.Is this feature only available for certain phones?
I got an older version of the DJI and was disappointed with it for my purposes. Seems to be very good for following people straight , or panning or just holding it stable. I shoot dancers which means I move in and move around them. But when you try circling someone the gimbal pulls and tries to keep aiming to the front. Am I wrong? Is there a better way to do it that I'm missing?
I've personally tried this out. The connection is quite good. Unless it's really ripped off the gimbal you'll have no worries about your phone falling off.
Hi, I bought a om 4 and Vivo v20 for to shoot, unfortunately the video plabacks are pixelated, cbat see anything, dji support says it's incompatible device, so what to do now, any solution you can say, pls pls
My only concern is the power button. I carried my Mobil 2 for two weeks in the mountains. I got very little use because it kept turning on in my backpack and died by day 3. I’ll still upgrade, but I hope I can solve that for future hikes.
Very well done! I was happy to see a very nice shot of my alma mater. In fact, I think that’s the entrance (on Jackson) I used the most throughout my undergrad years.
Just purchased this but the software is not working! I get a black screen but the camera is recording. New Motorola phone with Android 9, I will still use it but using the phone camera as normal.
cool review! it answered my question and you have shown the weakness of the gimbal since OM2, still the jittering is there and no sign dji will address this since most smartphones now have OIS
Anyone knows which mode I have to use when taking a video just walking forward and taking video of a city? I'm using lockmode but the arm move sideways very easily.
Joshua Lawson my standard case has a built on special magnet for mounting in the car and still allows wireless charging, but when I shoot I use a moment lens so I switch to their photo case.
I have the movi , Osmo pocket, & Osmo mobile 3 and I find the one that gets the most usage is the Osmo pocket. Lol. I hate removing my cases and also balancing my iPhone on the gimbals. Osmo pocket is perfect 👌🏾
I have one complaint. First, I love this product. I just got it yesterday. 99.9% happy with it. Just one thing, when I record vids and play them back, they are reversed. I really hate this. If I’m filming anything that shows words, they are reversed. I have to reverse it back on my iphone. I dislike having to do that. Is there something I’m not doing? Or will I always have to re-reverse them back by editing them on my iphone?
Unfortunately DJI has missed the real value of such a technology in our time: Why can't I use a gimbal with ActiveTrack as webcam in Zoom, Teams & co.? Is this only a dream?
Can Celik Indeed, this is why only DJIs developers can make it happen: They just need to add a webcam feature to their app. There are quite some apps available in the app store like Iriun Webcam and OBS Camera which show how it might works.
This review came across as amateurish with strange angles that actually put me off the OM4 even though it’s more due to the way it was used than the device itself. If you’re gonna review cameras and/or their accessories you should at least have some decent filming and editing skills.
ANDROID USERS BEWARE: Unfortunately Android users get a watered down version of the app. Half the features DON'T work properly if at all. And your limited to 30fps max. Worst even, if you're running on the latest Android 11 os than you're further limited to 1080p 30fps rear cameras and 720p 30fps front. I'm returning mine and warning other Android users. I have tested on my Note 20 Ultra and S20+. DJI tells me to get a different phone (iPhone) rather than address the their software issue lol. Shame.
Then it would need a bigger battery (at least twice the space for the battery), since it only has 2,450 mAh. To charge the phone it would at least need the same capacity on top. Oh, and of course the Qi-technology built into which isn't even compatible with all phones. So, no. Just put a powerbank in your backpack, if you need extra energy.

I hope they do as it’s a annoying to have to make adjustments to get the phone in the right position when connecting it to the remote control.

I felt disappointed by the demo shots :( But the production of the review itself was great.
What production? They clearly haven't prepared this video to make it more appealing. Pretty amaturistic
@@JaMai2134 that is pretty harsh. The product and overhead shots are on point.
I think that's the point, to showcase what the OM4 can do when it comes to "amateur" shots. Imagine these features in the hands of a pro!
The demo was amateurish. Sorry but I was expecting better quality.

Thank you for the video!! That dyna-zoom effect looks so cool
Mahalo for the video! Does it have a self leveling system of any kind?
This is really great.
Wow nice video thankssss💯💯💯👌👌👌👍👍
Awesome Work ✌️
Nice Chicago shots.
The inception shot looks cool AF! I can literally make a movie out of this without any additional editing to be done.
😂😅
Great vidéo 👌🏾👌🏾
Damn bro, I just swooped 1 up today. Great video and awesome edits, very informative and well spoken. 👏 👍
Nice video 👍
what happens when the magnet doesnt hold on to the phone
You are gonna get a new phone. Oh yeah...
I've personally tried this out. The connection is quite good. Unless it's really ripped off the gimbal you'll have no worries about your phone falling off.

Great video bro
Does this model rotate 360?
Most of the feature are there on osmo mobile 3
Can it mount to chesty for mountain biking?

Is there an adapter so a small camera can be attached? Such as a Fuji X100V.
The OM 4 comes with a stick on magnetic adaptor that could be stuck on a small camera.
Great review!
Can it track and live stream to obs and or some online service?
Mark O'Connell nope, only works in the DJI app.. I learn this after I get one 😒
rafniki420 while it can track with the app it can not stream to obs with the app. By extension it can not track and live stream yet to obs.
Just purchased this but the software is not working! I get a black screen but the camera is recording. New Motorola phone with Android 9,
I will still use it but using the phone camera as normal.
Tried the om4. Cant do low shots + crane up. Tilt lock is only marginal due to the design of the motors.

This system looks like a pain if you frequently switch cases...I think I’ll stick with my Osmo 3
Yeah but why would you keep switching cases in the first place???
Joshua Lawson my standard case has a built on special magnet for mounting in the car and still allows wireless charging, but when I shoot I use a moment lens so I switch to their photo case.
I heard that this OM4 not really good for Android Phones? some functions may not work on Android Phones!!!!

The volume for this video has been mastered way too low during the editing process.
I really don't get how the rotation feature is useful. I'd never know why you'd want the horizontal axis to be spinning while you're filming.
👍👍👍
So I guess with magnets in iPhone 12 you can just attach the phone on it without any modification
Nope, I have a 12 Pro and just got this in today, and it does in fact not have a strong enough magnet from magsafe to hold it while rotating.
Unfortunately DJI has missed the real value of such a technology in our time: Why can't I use a gimbal with ActiveTrack as webcam in Zoom, Teams & co.? Is this only a dream?
Peter Meuser isn’t activetrack a software feature? How does DJI going to control other company apps?
Can Celik Indeed, this is why only DJIs developers can make it happen: They just need to add a webcam feature to their app. There are quite some apps available in the app store like Iriun Webcam and OBS Camera which show how it might works.
Ngl the new system looks better the the OM3

airmax with adidas socks. 😳
Hate the colour tho.

The demo video isn’t well taken and well edited... 😓😓😓
Would be cool if it would also charge the phone wirelessly
