@@bfit2bhit751 I'll trade you for the 4! That's the best deal you'll get out of me. You deserve a gimbal, but I would recommend not the 3 and maybe not the 4 given this company's history.
True. All I saw others was talk about the magnetic crap. Sure it's good but dude, I wanna know improvements technically so I can make a decision as an existing or a new buyer.
While it may look as if there's hasn't been a lot of changes in the OM4 aside from the "magnets', that's only scratching the surface. The design has actually been revamped to make the entire device more lightweight and compact without compromising durability. It also has standby mode that can be activated by simply removing the phone from the gimbal. Of course, the software has been updated to cater specifically to the OM4, so no compatibility problems will arise. Plus you get a cool phone ring to boot. Not a bad trade in my opinion.
DollyZoom, CloneMe Panorama, and Story Mode are the three features that I’m most excited about in the DJI OM4. I think that even newbies can create some amazing clips from these shooting modes.
Just took mine out to the park and had a ball with the DJI! Great device! Didn’t know why it would just go to a neutral position. When I realized it was designed so you could answer your phone, I just SMILED! Great thought and design has gone into the further development of this product! 5 outta 5 Stars!!!
That Dynamic Zoom shot looks really easy to do! This effect can also be done on the Zhiyun Smooth 4 but can be screwed up very easily. I really like how easy it is for the OM4 to set up this type of shot.
Thanks for the introduction, Jake. Just simple and honest to goodness showing on how the feature works for the first time user. I'm sure a lot more ways to max the features and anybody can do it.
Received mine 2 days ago. Purchased an off brand but it was wonky and returned it for this. So this is my first gimbal, I don’t really have much to compare it to but I do like it, still figuring it out. Only complaint is I love the case included with the off brand. Thank you for actually talking about the limitations DJI has for Android users!! Not a lot of reviewers did this. Was wondering if you would recommend the OM 4 rather than the OM 3 for a first time gimbal buyer?
The one thing no one that I’ve heard ever talks about that you have to use the front facing camera when your doing the clone me pano. It’s no secret that the rear facing camera doesn’t have picture quality as the front facing one does
Indeed! This gimbal is controllable with the DJI Mimo app (available for iOS or Android devices), supports Bluetooth 5.0, and features a number of different modes to help simplify whatever you're trying to capture, such as Sport and Inception modes. Advanced features such as hand gesture control and body shape recognition help round out its ease of use. >Mark
I've bought a few recent gimbals from DJI and returned them all. Their drones are great but the gimbals suck. They never stay stabilized and the stabilization isn't very good. This one looks cool but don't think i'm gonna fall for it again.
Can we control the Mobile's native camera from this Gimbal's buttons (for example, Picture clicking...Video start/stop/zoom in-out etc from the Gimbal's buttons/joystick) .. Please let me know.
DynamicZoom produces the famed “Hitchcock effect,” which rotates your shot in a somewhat zooming motion as you follow your subject. The only effort required on your part is to just press the corresponding button in the app, and the built-in algorithms will take care of the rest. >Mark
I have the om3, and there is nothing game changing about the om4, it's the same except the mount. In my opinion the om3s mount is better, at least you know your phone's staying put, not on a magnet.
Why don't they build the clamps to fit most cases. Most people don't want to have to remove their case. They have it on for safety. Now you remove that line of safety to now make it even more unsafe buy using a magnet for attachment. I don't get it.
@@gosman949 Having used it for two days I find the stretch band allows the phone to shake more and add vibration. The clamp did not fit securely on my Samsung a51 with slim case. Also, when I first turned it on the gimbal did a violent shake back and forth like it wasn't balanced (though it was) and flung my phone of into the floor. Luckily it was on the carpet in my home. I just don't trust the magnets. After that I did my testing on one of my older phones that I was less concerned about breaking.
Technically, there's more. There's an additional sensor in the roll motor to allow for even more precision during movements. Also, the materials have been slightly upgraded and more metal has been used as well as increasing motor strength all around. The magnetic mount may seem like a simple thing but it's the refinements and speed that makes OM4 better.
I think that is more a question dependent on your Smart Phone and App it is using and if those allow for it. The DJI Mimo App does all you to switch from the front and back cameras, but not sure that is really something you'd even want to do in this case while in the middle of recording.
