I honestly think this is my favorite formula from holo taco so far. Linear can sometimes be too harsh for me, so I much prefer the softness of scattered holo. Plus I love a good neutral shade, so this whole collection was an instant buy!

linear holos are SO gorgeous! and yes the microglitter formula is definitely a pain, especially with a skinny brush 😅 this formula applies like a linear (just not as opaque) but definitely lacks that in your face rainbow, but its still very pretty!! I’m glad you found my comparisons helpful 🥰
I'm thrilled that this collection exists, because having a wide range of neutrals to suit a variety of skin tones is objectively good. But I don't wear brown. I have choco holo and peach tea and magical moustache and burnt bridges already and I'm already not wearing them hardly ever. It's the first release in a while that I've sat out.

Even though it’s just 5 polishes they definitely got a wide range which I appreciate, though probably not intentional since they’re focus was on coffee lol :) and that’s totally ok to sit these out! I feel like it’s so easy to feel the pressure to buy just because its new, but yeah sometimes we have to take a step back 😅

I love the crushed holo formula, especially with Reflective Taco on top! I’m not normally super into neutrals or browns, but I really liked that these are neutral without being boring. I do wish they came with the wide brush but I don’t really mind since I can buy that separately (even though I know that annoys a lot of people). Thanks for the all the comparisons!! Yay, more swatches already! I like the new crushed holo, it's similar to Picture Polish's popular holo formula. I prefer it to linear and glitter because I don't go outside much and glitter is so annoying to remove (peely pops off too fast and I'm too impatient to soak), but I still want some holo sparkle. I'm surprised there isn't a "Crushed Holo Taco" since that would be more in the spirit of this brand, but maybe the formula isn't easy to perfect or it doesn't provide the same effect as the pre-blended formula.
😁 ooh I haven’t tried Picture Polish but I know exactly what you’re talking about! yes these are such a great alternative for having sparkly nails without the headache of removing glitter! & hmm, I think if they had a Crushed Holo Taco it would basically be like a more densely packed Flakie Taco if that makes sense? I do think it’s more of the latter; these polishes have an almost crelly opacity which helps with making the flakes look blended into the base vs just sitting on top. I would be curious to see if they do anything more with this formula though!
I put a top coat under my peely and it makes them last for days and taking them off is way easier than a non-peely base. However, depending on how thick the layers are or the formula, there might still be some minor soaking, but my removal is usually under 10 minutes even with the the thick layers/minor soaking. (Specifics, if you are wondering, Holo Taco's peely on top of Pacifica's Prime&Harder breathable top&base coat.) It's the only way I wear polished anymore since there is usually no chipping (just cuticle and tip wear,) it makes removal waaaay easier with less clean up (usually,) and my nails don't feel suffocated by the peely. Plus, my nails on average with the t&b under the peely lasts for like 3-5 days. ALSO, I found Wal-Mart's Onyx Professional Soak Off REALLY works! I was needing to change my polish the other day when shopping, so I decided to swatch some polishes on my old polish to test for opacity while checking out some glitters. I grabbed the polishes I wanted with some remover and when I went home to take off my polish, it came off like butter with little to no rubbing, including the glitter bits! Granted, I didn't do full nail of glitter with a full layer of packed on glitter, but the nails that had the glitter on them was actually easier to remove than the nails without, so take what you will! PS, I had some minor staining on my thumb by a rouge mishap of a previous removal that happened MONTHS ago (the polish came off, but there was still some on the cotton pad which when going back over, marked up my nail) and the Soak Off got rid of it and I didn't need to soak it off!
I’ve started putting a strip of peely base coat down the center of my nails and then regular base coat, but I also have problems with peely staying on my nails. Regular base coat normally pops off my nails after 5 or 6 days so I kind of have no chance with peely 😂

Yellow-leaning browns (or really, any yellow-undertone polish) just don't look great on me. But I recently bought Orly Glowstick, the neon yellow, and it looks great -- so cheerful and bright! I don't know what the difference is, maybe when they mix yellow with a different color base. But apparently just plain yellow works for some reason. By the way, I'm enjoying my mid-winter shades that I picked out for my winter polish rack, but ugh... I can't wait for summer weather and colors!!!

I really love the look of the crushed holo formula, but I'm not really a neutral nail polish kind of person. However I know people have been asking for neutrals like this, and using this formula over a basic creme was definitely a smart choice. If I were to choose which ones I like - Oat, Cappuccino, and Espresso are ones I would maybe give a try one day. I think because they are cooler tones while Blushed and Mocha are warm. But I really hope they are planning to release vibrant shades in the crushed holo formula!
aw yeah I totally get you, I’ve seen a few others say the same thing where they either like the formula but not the shades or vice versa (or not liking both lol). I’m curious though, what shades would you like to see in this formula? I feel like deeper jewel tones would be SO beautiful! and yes I loved those 3 too! Though I think I would call Holo Cappuccino more of a warm than cool shade.. maybe its neutral haha. but yes so excited to see what they’ll come out with next!

And you are probably right about Holo Cappuccino, sometimes its hard to see those tones on a computer screen, plus lighting as you showed can influence how it looks. As long as it doesn't lean yellow or green, I would say I would like the colour.
Love love love the first 3! 😍 I picked those ones up. I’m with you on Need I Say Mocha? That one had way to much yellow in it for my liking. I am kicking myself for not picking up Espresso Your Holo. But I have Burnt Bridges…so I wonder how close those would be.

Yeah at first I thought they had added gold shimmer or something to Need I Say Mocha bc it looked so yellow to me 😅 I think Burnt Bridges is pretty similar to Mooncat’s Boa Constrictor, I don’t quite remember which is darker, but iirc Burnt Bridges isn’t as deep as Espresso Your Holo. I’ll see if my friend can compare them so I can share to my stories!
I want all this bundle and the scattered holo never brought from them shipping to Australia is a killer. I love all of the colours especially the lightest and darkest ones.

Now you have me curious so I just checked some swatches…. The base color of Highest Bidder is definitely less metallic than the BLK lion siblings I have, but very similar holo distributions. Also similar to the Rogue winter prisms polishes if you’re familiar with those. All beautiful for sure!
i sadly don’t have any of the BKL lion formulas to compare but I think they are similar with the irregular holo flakies, i would just say theres way more in the HT formula! and maybe they’re a touch smaller too.

Of course, that could be the way my iPad interprets color! We all know what a pain that can be sometimes! But, all in all, great collection and the holo is amazing. Way to go Holo Taco!!!♥️🤎

They’re all nice but I’m not super crazy about them to be honest. Espresso Your Holo might be my favorite but the darker ones also just remind me of chocolate lol. Also, I appreciate you talking more at length in your intros and outros. So many people on RUclips heavily edit when they’re talking or you can tell when they’re only trying to say one sentence at a time before a cut. It’s very refreshing to see you not having to rely on edits every other second!

However I know people have been asking for neutrals like this, and using this formula over a basic creme was definitely a smart choice. If I were to choose which ones I like - Oat, Cappuccino, and Espresso are ones I would maybe give a try one day. I think because they are cooler tones while Blushed and Mocha are warm. But I really hope they are planning to release vibrant shades in the crushed holo formula!
aw yeah I totally get you, I’ve seen a few others say the same thing where they either like the formula but not the shades or vice versa (or not liking both lol). I’m curious though, what shades would you like to see in this formula? I feel like deeper jewel tones would be SO beautiful! and yes I loved those 3 too! Though I think I would call Holo Cappuccino more of a warm than cool shade.. maybe its neutral haha. but yes so excited to see what they’ll come out with next!
@@PolishedYogi Yes, I'm with you on the jewel tones! Would be so pretty. And you are probably right about Holo Cappuccino, sometimes its hard to see those tones on a computer screen, plus lighting as you showed can influence how it looks. As long as it doesn't lean yellow or green, I would say I would like the colour.
Love love love the first 3! 😍 I picked those ones up. I’m with you on Need I Say Mocha? That one had way to much yellow in it for my liking. I am kicking myself for not picking up Espresso Your Holo. But I have Burnt Bridges…so I wonder how close those would be.

Yeah at first I thought they had added gold shimmer or something to Need I Say Mocha bc it looked so yellow to me 😅 I think Burnt Bridges is pretty similar to Mooncat’s Boa Constrictor, I don’t quite remember which is darker, but iirc Burnt Bridges isn’t as deep as Espresso Your Holo. I’ll see if my friend can compare them so I can share to my stories!

I want all this bundle and the scattered holo never brought from them shipping to Australia is a killer. I love all of the colours especially the lightest and darkest ones.
aw yeah i’ve heard they recently had to change the shipping too so its even more expensive than it was?? i don’t remember the details but it sucked to hear about :( maybe one day you can do a big order for like Black Friday when everything is on sale, so it can somewhat offset the shipping cost 🥺

Comparisons are soo helpful! I'm wondering if this crushed holo is similar to BKLs lions formula but not shimmer hmm
Now you have me curious so I just checked some swatches…. The base color of Highest Bidder is definitely less metallic than the BLK lion siblings I have, but very similar holo distributions. Also similar to the Rogue winter prisms polishes if you’re familiar with those. All beautiful for sure!
i sadly don’t have any of the BKL lion formulas to compare but I think they are similar with the irregular holo flakies, i would just say theres way more in the HT formula! and maybe they’re a touch smaller too.
I love every shade of this collection! These browns are so classy! I think I need to disagree with you this time, Stefanie! I really do think these shades look great on you! Of course, that could be the way my iPad interprets color! We all know what a pain that can be sometimes! But, all in all, great collection and the holo is amazing. Way to go Holo Taco!!!♥️🤎

They’re all nice but I’m not super crazy about them to be honest. Espresso Your Holo might be my favorite but the darker ones also just remind me of chocolate lol. Also, I appreciate you talking more at length in your intros and outros. So many people on RUclips heavily edit when they’re talking or you can tell when they’re only trying to say one sentence at a time before a cut. It’s very refreshing to see you not having to rely on edits every other second!

@@mmay9082 ooh thanks for the suggestion! After watching some of simply’s stream last night I saw that peach tea is a good linear match of blushed ice so I will def be getting that at some point (it was already on my list) but those ILNP shades look really nice :)
