Curiously, I didn't experience the interference between the claw and the slide wire until my third day out on the bindings. The problem was obvious once I could look closely with the ski on the bench. The fix worked exactly as described, though getting the spring tips back into the holes in the claw was a bit tricky. Thank you for posting a clear description.
Great tutorial. I was having this issue with my outlaws. I didn’t have the torx bit or a file handy, so I found that you can instead depress the claw with it still fully assembled and carefully wittle off some of the excess plastic with a small knife. Takes a little more dexterity, but it can be done.
Thanks!
I was lucky, a tiny spritz of silicone got mine working again, but I’m glad I came across this (and Coleman’s above comment) for future reference. I’m only one season into mine, I’m sure it’ll happen again.
Any ideas for the opposite issue? - claw releasing under small amounts of pressure while skiing?
Hi Liz. I had the same issue. I rotated the grey cylinder clockwise a couple of turns and it does not release anymore. It was a real pain
Thanks for the reply Antonio. I ended up having the heel parts replaced. Haven’t skied them yet though! So if it’s still an issue I’ll keep this in mind!
