So I ended up making a large one with 4 sides instead of 3. My idea behind trying it that way was due to the fact that I only had white and green bugles and also because I found working with 4 sides to be much easier to hold onto as I was working the pattern. It does use more beads and take a bit more time but it turned out really nice so I thought I'd offer up my alterations so everyone would know that it's possible to do so. Also, I used some cheap 6/0 seed beads as fillers because I just don't have enough round metal silver beads and figured this was a perfect chance at making use of the cheap beads I have lying around. I love this candy cane ornament and am going to hang it on my tree as soon as I get it up. Gorgeous pattern so thank you again.
So very cute-and just in time for those little, quick accents you find you always need as the holidays get closer. Thanks, Juliet, for providing the free pattern, and for showing us how to create these beauties.
Oh my heavens those are just absolutely stunning, thank you so much for doing this video and sharing the Beauty of these candy canes, you are so Beautiful 🥰
Greatly appreciate the new project. I like to make Christmas gifts as often as I can. Grandma's Christmas tree will be filled with my beaded ornaments before long. 🤗 Thank you again for so generously sharing another amazing pattern for free.
I'm sure she has shared one but there are lots of videos for the style of earring she's wearing available as well. You should be able to search youtube for a Native American style earring. Be sure to use a silk or nylon thread on the dangles so they hang loosely. Fireline, Wildfire, or monofilament will absolutely not hang right because it tends to curl too much. You can use any of those on the top portion as the triangle is just a basic brick stitch which naturally decreases as you go up. I hope this was helpful for you and not imposing on Ms. Juliette in any way.
I should probably also mention that she's used a miyuki delica or aiko style bead for the top triangle portion and seems to have kept her dangles all the same length and color as well but you can vary to suite your style. I sometimes forget that details are important when trying out a new pattern.
Thank you so much for the tutorial! They’re so pretty and fun to make. I’ve made two so far. Thank you to Lauren, too, for creating the lovely design!
