As a person who was brought up and always lived in Perth I admire Noongar traditions and how Noongar people pass down this information. I would like to see this taught to Primary School children because it makes more sense than the many things taught today.

I first met this Gentle and learned man when I was posted to Fitzroy Crossing as a teacher and he was a Ranger..Took me and my two sons on my first Barra fishing trip and stated outright we would land 5 barras.WE hooked up with 12 but only landed 5. How he knew I'll never know. Taught me a new term for my guitar...An invitation for a BBQ at his home I was asked to bring my "GESUNDER" Huh? what is that? His reply; "You know what gesunder there (pointing to his armpits) OH! guitar goes and rests under the armpits..Thank you for your teachings and gentle ways Noel. You are a legend.

Thank you Noel for that insight to aboriginal spirituality. As an immigrant and being raised as a catholic I realised in my fifties ,it is a religion and like all religions professed faith driven doctrine and rituals.
Unfortunately truth is called into question with all these religions.
In search of meaning I discovered when I looked in the ground and saw my feet connected to the earth. If we are indeed of and from this earth and our feet constantly touch this earth then the answer must lie there. And who better to educate me on this. Our first nations peoples of this land. Our indigenous people. The traditional owners of this land
Today however I find I am drawn to indigenous spirituality of understanding and spirituality lies in the belief of a cultural landscape and the connection between the human and spiritual realms. Why? I believe is the truth in who we are and our purpose on this earth. You and your people help me achieve that understanding. Thank you and to the aboriginal people of this land past and present for helping me find understanding , purpose and the truth. BTW I recently was invited in the the Gidja Mob of the East Kimberely WA by a Gidja man. I feel part of the mob now .Hahahaha. Love your work.

I grew up down south and spent a lot of time in the bush. I'm not Aboriginal but we always knew to leave things as we found them, ever since we were little kids. I remember there was a spot we'd always sit by on rocks next to a stream that fed into a lake. One day, a new family moved into town and their kids went down there and wrecked the banks of the stream kicking in the delicate patterns in the riverbanks and generally trashed the spot. I remember feeling so angry that the place has been changed forever.
I guess that was a small taste, like 1% of how the traditional owners must have felt watching the landscape being carved up until it was unrecognisable. It honestly felt like evil had tainted paradise.
Well, just my feelings but I thought I'd share.
