hey Slim, you should get yourself a little visitors book that you can take along to those events so people can leave their name and a comment and that will give you something to reflect on and remember those who attended
Living in the land down under my apologies for not making it to your “ meet Slim Day “ I do have a suggestion... if you ever have a best of segments I think you should call it “ Slim Pickings” 👍 Also loved the intro 😀
I truly hope to meet you someday. I feel the people there were very lucky to have got to meet you..i didnt see your video on meeting up and i try to watch all of your videos. I dont know what state you did your meet up in. You have always been my favorite. You bless us all with your beautiful videos...Plus i appreciate how you detail with map how to go to the places you have been. Some of the boondockers act like they dont want to tell you whete they are at. Its like they dont want you invading "their" places. I am like you. I dont want to be a nomad, just want the beauty and solitude. You capture such such beauty with your cameras. No one else does it like you. Plus there is never any drama in your videos. Just peace and beauty. I thank you very much for your videos and your sweet spirit.
You're a star! I've often wondered about the solo youtube RVers that have enough subscribers to have a meet&greet and how they handle the onslaught of so many people in person! All of a sudden you're talking to the people embodied! And responding to questions, not just your own narrative of your videos. I would be overwhelmed, yet happy to have so positively inhanced so many people's lives.
The introvert in you survived the meet and greet! Congratulations. I was surprised that the snowstorm video has been your most popular because I haven’t watched all of it yet. I got hooked on your cold weather camping videos and in particular on the opening shot of the icicles.
Slim, I'm from the UK and find your videos really inspiring. Keep it up and would have loved to see you in person . Long may you share the trails you travel with us who can only dream of doing the same. Thankyou !
Great stories as usual Slim! Your snow storm story reminded us of one of our RUclips stories. We had just made three RUclips videos about the pros of the Scamp trailer. All the videos when they first came out got less than 10,000 views. Then to just not be too one-sided we made a video about why teardrops are better than scamps which fortunately and unfortunately got over 125,000 views. Boy we got a lot of strong comments from the Scamp community. but, we did meet a lot of new great people through the process. Thanks for continuing to inspire us Slim!
Thank you Slim for all the great info and teaching on the outdoors, it's majestic beauty, but also for taking us along with you especially since your videos are so beautiful and vibrant. Godspeed!
Love your channel! It appeals to the 'traveling nomad' inside of me. Found your channel in a roundabout way. I'm currently building a tiny house and thanks to RUclips and its algorithm's, its pulled up UK narrowboats, van/camper DIY builds and traveling videos. One of my first and favorite narrowboat channels is Cruising the Cut (he has around 60,000 followers too). This past holiday season he did a video of his favorite things. He loves your channel and encouraged his followers to look you up. And that's how I found you. Retirement is just around the corner. You give me much food for thought. Thanks for that. ;-)
Thank you very much for recording the meet-up. It was very kind of you to share with us who couldn’t attend. It’s raining here, so it almost felt like I was there.✨ Sending hugs. Safe travels!
I am looking forward to attending the meet next year!! I can't understand why someone would do a thumbs down on any of your videos. Your videos are kind of like a " Mr. Rogers" style of videos. They are clean, pure, without judgement, and honest. With that said, I am looking forward to more of your videos. eh by the way, Mr. Rogers was an icon for us 1960's kids. He was soft spoken and taught well, always informing and teaching us about new things along with morality, respect, etc. I understand that the culture of today seems to be less that honest and does seem to lack of integrity, you are a breath of fresh air.!
Very nice slim. A bit out of your comfort zone which tells me what a great guy you are meeting some of your viewer's in this way. Nice to hear your stories , travel safe.
A tip of the hat for being such a "down to earth" guy. I live in Central Missouri and would have attended your meet and greet, but had another commitment. Love your videos, and your willingness to meet with your subscribers one on one is absolutely outstanding!! Continued success, and if your travels ever take you back to Central Missouri (Lake of the Ozarks area), reach out to me and I will invite you to my favorite camping site!
slim, you have great videos...very humble, imformative, beautiful photography! I just missed you at Kisatchie NP; nice hailstorm...keep up the great work.
Great video and the introduction was hilarious! I am a former truck driver, and when I saw the swift logo on the tractor in the snow video; I already knew how that would play out. Then when you mentioned he wanted the grips on the front, I really started laughing. Thank you for helping them.
Nice to see you connecting with your community Slim. It's also good that this video came out today, because I just finished watching EVERY Slim Potatohead video and enjoyed them all. The stuck in a snow storm 1.5 Million view video got me here and now I'm hooked. I would have never though of getting an A frame camper, now I want one and am looking at getting a used one just so I can modify it. I also have a Jeep that is almost the same so now I know it will pull the A frame just fine.
I’m really glad that you feel revitalized and inspired, I know people were so happy to gift you with things. It may seem overboard or too much to you but think of all you give us, the hours upon hours you spend creating your amazing videos. You have great viewers because you are great, like attracts like. I’m happy to hear you might do another one in the future. Take care.
Don't worry about resale value, just donate it to the Smithsonian. Your comment about not being a nomad, but a traveller, stuck Ricky Nelson's "I'm a Travelling Man" stuck in my head.
Thanks for doing this! It was fun to watch. We're from your home town and this past few months our travel got as far as Big Bend Texas NP (terrific!), before heading back through NM, AZ, UT and north. While camping outside of Bluff, UT we met a man from Colorado who was waiting for the delivery of his first brand-new AFrame any day. He visited us to do a walk through of our small Starcraft Comet. He was so excited to share what he had already learned from watching 'SLIM's videos'! Thanks for your work in helping people get ... and stay outdoors! (And for encouraging limited use of generators! Thank you! Thank you!)
Slim, what a great meetup! A tribute to your and your viewers. Maybe I’ll see you next time! Safe travels my friend. 😊 -Mark PS, St Louis tomorrow, late again. 😂
While you're near my hometown of St. Louis, I'm glad to have met you in Texas. Almost 1000 views in 50 min. Great video, Slim. Please keep them coming!
That was great, thanks for sharing and as with the others would love to have been there but in N Z so not very likely :). In saying that I have lived not far from Cochrane, Alberta years ago and I have ridden my motorcycle across the US and Canada and thoroughly enjoyed my travels there. Looking forward to more interesting travels from you.
😂Great intro! Looks like your meet-up was a grand success! You have more followers than you thought! Your delivery and editing is amazing along with your personal touches of nature. Such relaxing and entertaining videos! Love your channel. 👍🏻👍🏻
It's good to see the great response from your viewers. I know that I probably helped spread the word to other channels whenever you did something inventive like your wood stove or folding shower. Your beautiful videos and your appreciation of nature has a universal appeal.
Awesome you got through the meet and greet Slim. Hope maybe one day you will do another one maybe. Enjoy the rest of your trip. I look forward to your ideas and improvements that will come. Cheers Slim.
I was so disappointed that I coudn’t be there. I live in the one state people almost never go to - gorgeous Washington State. If you ever get up that way (kind of like Canada though) i would definitely come to say hi - with a beer! I really enjoy your videos - just fun. Hope to come out soon - I would be fine in an A frame, but I have pets. so probably class C. I love your stove!!!
It is great to see that you were able to get together with a few fans. We are always watching for you on our highway in southern Alberta. Hopefully we will cross paths here someday. Travel safe ..The Christies!
That was awesome Slim. People just bringing a little joy back to you, thankful for what you give to us. The voice over is amazing with the new gadget. Keep on travellin' Slim!
Would have loved to be there SP. But we had 4 family birthdays around that time! Four! Maybe next time. I love your quiet, grateful appreciation of nature in the films. It’s wonderful.
Slim I think guestbook is awesome, good way to have memories, also it has to be hard as an introvert being open and leading a discussion of your travels. I really love your videos and vast information shared. Thanks!
Guilty I think! But that "snowstorm" started a beautiful relationship! I'm a huge fan and tell all my friends. If you're ever in WNY contact me! I'll show you around the area.
Its so great to see someone living their dream... your energy is magnetizing ... I'm new to your chanel so a little late coming in. I'm sooo inspired watching it as I've been slowly working on my Van be be able to do some off roading. Your ideas are brilliant. Although our motor home is very comfortable, it's limited. I need to get up to speed with solar, power storage and it's principles... as my aunt always said "Batteries don't die they're murdered"..my claim to fame 🙄!
I've been waiting for Monday morning in hopes of seeing the meet-up in St Louis video. Happy to see the wonderful turnout and you were charming as ever. Personality aside, you do have informative, interesting, beautifully executed videos sprinkled with humour (case in point the 'Judy, Judy' bird. Priceless!
Awesome video, Slim. Must of been a real joy to met all your traveling fans. If you ever announced coming to the northwest in Washington state, I'd definitely come for a visit. I really love and appreciate your videos. Thanks for sharing. I look forward to seeing more videos of you down the road. Safe travels!
What fun! That was really nice. It's weird how we feel that we know you well, yet other than an occasional comment, you don't know us at all. This balanced the scales a bit for at least some of your viewers. Cool.
I really enjoyed watching you with all your fans 😍 i would had been there too but i live about one hr away from Shelby Idaho we're u had to pull over and spend the night on the day of the storm i was surprised how close you were to us i knew you were passing thru but not that you were right on my back yard lol 😂...i hope one day you stop by Pocatello Idaho so me and family get too meet you ...your a big celebrity !! anyway great video 👍may the Lord bless you 🙏 on every adventure you go thanks for share it with us ...can't wait for next episode 😁
We have been following you over a year now. I remember when your Jeep back window came off the track. When you released that video, it also happened to our Jeep. Our Jeep is exactly like yours. Your video content is amazing. Your storiy line for each video wonderful. Love your sense of humor. We are just 400 miles morth of St Louis. Would loved to have seen you. Hopefully we will meet you someday. We spend our winters in the Palm Springs area in Nov thru March. High winds out there hit us like they did too. Keep up the excellent videos. You inspire us in ways you cannot imagine. Thank you.
Stranded in a Snowstorm was my first Slim video. Happy I found it because it led to all the rest! Love your thoughtful videos and your camping philosophy!
I look forward to your videos more than any others! They are so skillful and imaginative, and full of respect for the wonders of the wild. I'm glad your meet up went so well, it was a brave thing to do! Greetings from England.
Hey Slim we had the exact same experience with our solar this winter. We where in Texas and New Mexico. Both considerably colder and cloudy. High cloud gave the illusion of sun but cut our amps in from the solar panel by half. First time in 5 trips over 7 years. Enjoy your real videos of you being you. Good on you to meet your viewers. If you are back in Louisiana sometime check out Fred Lounge in Mamou. Every Saturday morning they have live Cajun music.
wouldn't it be cool if there was a meet up in central PA in a campground where all the RUclips RV players from a far can have that same thing you just did in this video... Slim potatoe head, Eric and Jax, Pippi, Nathan from Class A Living, RV Prepper Wayne and all the other awesome RUclips RVr's meeting up to have at least one day for our kind to just hang out, eat, drink, be merry and learn first hand all the things we do to enjoy life...??? that's what I'm wanting to try to do this year right here in my hometown at Weimers in Duncansville PA... I really think it could be awesome...
Really enjoyed your viewer meet up event ... thanks for posting it, Mr. Slim👍 I hope someday to meet you on the road. Safe travels and happy adventures 💕
I've never heard a Judy Judy Judy bird. Very cool. Listening to you talk a bit reminded me of what Tom Hanks said in the movie Castaway...."You never know what the tide will bring in." Stay safe my friend :)
You're awesome! I love camping with you and you're beautiful videos of the natural environment. I'm a vet not capable of doing what you do. Unfortunately lost my leg in combat. THANK YOU SLIM!!!
Fun idea for a meetup; really hilarious introduction - your videos always provide great stories and fantastic images. Greetings from tropical Chiang Mai.
I live in Missouri but almost 4 hours from SL. I would have loved to meet up with you. Going on the road June 1. for the whole summer. Maybe I will run into you. Be safe out there.
Very nice video. Great idea to give your followers a chance to meet you and ask questions. I would go to one if I ever had the chance. I enjoy watching you
I wish I could have come to meet you. It sound like you had a great time. Glad for you, you did a great job with all the questions and comments. Keep camping and having fun with nature. I really enjoy them.
Your videos are almost always enjoyable. That 8 hrs you spend editing on your laptop every day is much appreciated. Anyway, when my cargo trailer conversion is done me & the lady are hitting the road for a few months to do what you're doing. It would be cool if you started leaving a little mark or something everywhere you go that says 'Slim Was Here', a Mr. Potatohead sticker, or something we can identify if we (meaning all of your viewers) stumble across them during our own travels. Then we can say: Hey look, that Slim Potoatohead guy was here! Maybe it's a goofy idea but I thought it would be fun.
Great get together. A little disappointed no one asked how you came by the moniker Slim Potatohead. Curious to know. Thanks for all your terrific videos and as always, safe travels.
Glad you had a nice turn out for your meet up. Nice of the folks who gave you some nice gifts . Hope to meet some day so I hope you come to the west coast of Florida . Don't come now it's suppose to get up to 90 here today .
hey Slim, you should get yourself a little visitors book that you can take along to those events so people can leave their
name and a comment and that will give you something to reflect on and remember those who attended
Nice idea!

Also loved the intro 😀
Clever
John Grant Haha...good sense of humor. 🤣

Though you may have felt awkward at first, you did a nice job with your meet-up.

Judy Judy Judy bird is northern cardinal
the trilling bird during the rain was probably chipping sparrow
great videos!
Thanks for posting bird ID!!

Great to see!! Nice to see the generosity of people!! Touch to accept sometimes, but, I feel its important to accept the kindness of others. Cheers!!

You did fine. Thanks for sharing. if you are ever in the Hill Country area of Texas, that is Central Texas NW of San Antonio and Austin, let us know!
Very cool video! It's great that you made yourself available for a meet and greet. So fun to watch.
Thanks for posting your meetup video, happy travels :-)
Great video looked like fun. Would love to meet you sometime. Never miss any of your video,s . They are all great.
You did well Slim. Good job. Thank you for being the person that can take time for their fans. As always, thanks for taking me along on your journey!

Great to see your having fun. I know how hard it is to make and edit good content. 🇨🇦

Subscribing to your channel has made me realize what i REALLY always wanted to do in life: to LIVE it! Thanks, Slim.

So sorry we missed the Meet and Greet, but we're traveling in the opposite direction, close to Canada.
wouldn't it be cool if there was a meet up in central PA in a campground where all the RUclips RV players from a far can have that same thing you just did in this video... I stumbled upon your "Stuck in a Snow Storm" video and that is the reason why I now follow your channel. Another great video. Keep em' coming Slim!
Really enjoyed your viewer meet up event ... thanks for posting it, Mr. Slim👍 I hope someday to meet you on the road. Safe travels and happy adventures 💕
I wish I could have met you. Your videos are wonderful and I too love the outdoors. And people love you!
Fun! Too bad I didn't know about it until it was too late. Maybe one day.
slim i love ur content its very well made and warm hearted keep it real u old fart
I've never heard a Judy Judy Judy bird. Very cool. Listening to you talk a bit reminded me of what Tom Hanks said in the movie Castaway...."You never know what the tide will bring in." Stay safe my friend :)
you generate a lot of love, Slim! Wish we could have come to your gathering -- do it again at random times -- who knows, we may be able to come!
I enjoy watching you
My brother and I watch you religiously from two different states. Could not make it to St Lou but will see you on the road someday!
I wish I could have come to meet you. It sound like you had a great time. Glad for you, you did a great job with all the questions and comments. Keep camping and having fun with nature. I really enjoy them.
Hey, that was really enjoyable - wish I could have attended! Thanks for sharing!
Some day, I will hopefully get to attend a meet up. Keep doing them. :)
