all your seven dreams
are closer than you believe
as your things come undone
see you are the only one
flower, seize the hour, the day away
waiting, waiting for your way, away
when you wake up you're away
throwing your life away
someday, sorry coming home
sorry, snail
what you wait for
flower, the pain will wash away, away
when the sunshine climbs through your window
into your bed
when you wake up you're away
throwing your life away
someday, sorry coming home
sorry, snail
yeah, live in my home
flower, seize the hour
flower, away
what you wait for
flower, taste the sunshine
flower, taste the sunshine
flower

Too good of a song to have been written by kids, seriously, sounds like a band that’s already been together for 20 years…so damn good, I can’t fathom it
The crowd probably had no idea that they were witnessing history. I love this song, and the drum solo on the studio version is amazing. Gish is an absolute masterpiece of songwriting, performance, and production.
This clip is the exact reason why RUclips exists, not for the garbage that people post about their boyfriends, American Idol reviews, etc.
I remember hearing this album when it first came out my sophomore year of college, and thinking my God who is that drummer!
I love the old concert footage when the original band members where still together. Long live the Pumpkins.
I wish you all could experience this band when they were new - came out of nowhere and changed everything - the 90s were a blast if you loved music.
Most underrated song in SP's catalog of songs. My top 2-3 . . . .
Crush is my #1 Snail is my #2 from pumpkins
Gish is their best album, in my opinion
Gish and Siamese dream,masterpieces!
Borko Vidakovic: "Melon Collie..." was an exercise in overindulgence on Corgan's part trying to add Smashing Pumpkins to the pantheon of great Rock bands that recorded and released double albums just for the sake of doing so
@@shruggzdastr8-facedclown 1000 times like! I thought Mellon Collie was great, but it wasn't as cohesive as Gish and Siamese. Mellon Collie had a lot of great songs, but it seemed excessive. I agree with Chris Cornell when he said that an album really only needed 12-13 songs max. Even he stated that Superunknown and Down on the Upside was too much music to truly appreciate and that was his own albums.
@@christopherwho8566 I have to a lot of hate over the years, but I like the Pumpkins better than Nirvana.
@@christopherwho8566 That shit is fucking funny.
remember seeing them in s.f 1991 18 at the time. got in using my french cousins passport. hole opened up for em. small club on the height. billy and darcy just hanging out mingling with the crowd. the good ol days. great concert and stage diving!!!
I saw them play last summer, and honestly they are still a great show. I'm sure the feel is different compared to the 90's, but they do actually still have it- which is pretty darn rare.
Takes me back. Live Pumpkins,Pixies, and Jane's Addiction is all i need.
+Brian Bannish Remove Pixies and Jane's Addiction and it will be better
Leo B Juana's addiccion.....
That's a musical diet I could live on.
Wish I saw a porno for pyros show back then
Pixies, Sonic Youth
Amazing right out the gates. Didn't see them until 94 at Lollapalooza. Would have loved to catch a Gish era club show.
I love Billy's later work, but their early psychedelic phase from Gish/Siamese Dream/Pisces Iscariot will always be my favorite.
Pisces is such an unsung masterpiece .
You can just tell with this song that Billy had big aspirations.
All your seven dreams… are closARR than you believe ❤️
Billy just got this guitar back. It was stolen 27 years ago.
mindeloman crazy right?!!?! N there it is . It’s so awesome to have this era documented:D
I think that was his other Gish strat
Pumpkins have probably top 5 best all-around rock sounds ever. This song is a great example of that, another just for context...cherub rock...when it's hard, its Rock hard...and it doesn't stop til that last power chord...U2 is my fave all time but in aggressive sound and attitude distortion, there is none better for me than the smashing pumpkins...energy of amps is just crazy...
Jimmy just kills on the drums, such a phenomanal musician. Pumpkins would've been so different without him.
They would've been nobodies without him.
Fuckin’ Jimmy. Studio version was one take. That’s how good he is
THIS.....will forever be....." smashing pumpkins"......
Simply JC, no words for that idol
this is the coolest shit ever
Yea
I love old school Pumpkins :(.
All your seven dreams. hahaha
Saw them twice on this tour, and three times on the Siamese tour....and yep, they effing smoked!
Watching this carving a pumpkin, I have had the honor of seeing the Smashing Pumpkins this young age, and last tour. Rock On!
My favorite SP song; The story of my Life. :)
One of my fav songs of theirs.
Wow. Amazing performance
Saw these guys open up for Pearl Jam and Red Hot Chili Peppers in like 90 - change your life type of show. Gish is their best album by a lot!
I enjoyed watching this.
I wish these people would film more than just billy. I wanna see some drumming!
I was at this show and got in for free and drank for free
Good for you!
Where was it?
@@ddd1hhh Cabaret Metro in Chicago
damn this is really fantastic
still lovin it
I bought this on cassette at Virgin Records in Amarillo, TX in 1990 or so...
This and mayonnaise my two top favs!!
Absolutely! I might add Hummer to this...
cheers for upping
@flipingsweet779 they were awesome... Seen them this year.. lalapoloza Dallas TX front row... Billy is still awesome...
Chills
Hey I have a live recording of these guys off the radio and during the first song the power went out for a long time! I was living in Atlanta and I think the show was in Chicago.
crazy!
dead actually...dead was the word i was looking for. amazing performance!
What are you waiting for, Flower?
Make the sun shine.
The flowers make the sun shine?
It's the flowers!
man ill never forget i saw this the first time on shrooms literally changed my fucking life
Very underrated song, if you ask me they should stop playing today's current music on the radio and play stuff like this all over again, it's stood the test of time therefore it is timeless we are all witnesses to this, I miss the 90's :(
Wow this is the oldest clip I've seen of them. I saw them summer before this with PJ and RHCP. One of the top tours of all time and I won the tickets!
Snailed it!
This song is a classic, there were not many bands who could compete with them back then, Shame it's not like that now.
Yeah, we got the blues...
I'm not saying you're wrong, but in my opinion their first album, "Gish" is their best!
I'm not saying you are wrong but it's a draw between GISH, SD and MCIS. Then comes Adore.
I say Mellon collie, there are so many b sides tracks that are just magical..
🐌!!❤️ Watched Mr Corrigan perform at live at a bar with a point of beer acoustic 2 years ago and had to see it live/brought me here👌
@flipingsweet779 there's still time. but I know what you feel, I would've loved to have seen them before they were big. I only saw them on the Sacred and Profane Tour (2000). I was 14 at the time.
One of the most difficult songs to play on drums, look for it, it doesn't have a drum cover! Jimmy Chamberlin teacher
top 3 albums in order: GO!
Siamese Dream, MCIS and Gish.
We saw them in Hawaii, back in 91' ish. Jimmy didn't wear a shirt, he was HUGE! Billy wore a dress, and I never saw him be more wild and aggressive in any video. He was like Curt Cobain, just ALL OVER the place. It was AMAZING!~!!
On his life journal.. by the way I'm aware you wrote this 12 years ago so sorry that I'm late to the party but I like sharing knowledge
But yes remember those live journals?
Insid Billy's live journal he said that he and Darcy often took LSD and /or shrooms before they get on stage for this tour so I'm going to take a wild guess...
And yes it was really his live journal it's been authenticated and it include the story about how Jimmy chamber and temporary went blind from doing too much cocaine when they were recording Siamese Dream in atlanta... how he drove a car into the swimming pool at the villa he stayed at during adore, but Darcy was a crackhead by then... oh and how he snorted sea monkeys with Marilyn Manson ...man I can't wait for his book to come out!!
i love it when people say in my opinion! it cuts out a lot of bs comments!
this is fucking top notch on top of top notch
i turned 3 during this concert
Flower chase the sunshine
Jimmy Chamberlain was a beast. Probably the most skilled of the bunch.
...you can't get over it hollowpoint? EVERYONE did that in the 90's, and it shows they were having a good time....not to mention this is about 17 and a half years old this video, so I don't think it's something to be annoyed over...it's over seventeen years old...
@ragtopdodge Siamese Dream was the peak for me.
I haven’t even begun to peak
What's that stuff on Corgan's head?
franberry his hair.
The same stuff that used to be on my head.
1:57 almost....
7 months before I was born
Top 3 SP track for moi.
Sna..ai...ai..ail!
I'd give a limb to have been there
Wtf don't look back in anger at the start in 1991 wow
metro, chicago
@flipingsweet779 Same here.
SEVEN DREAMS OK
Billy Corgan with long hair lol
codythegreat21: ...remember when both Henry Rollins and Michael Stipe had long hair, too?
It was all gone by 1997
@@johnedsel late '95 but close
The lyric is “When you wake up you’re all weak”
That A sus chord made me think of champagne supernova for a brief second
lightest shove ever lol
Is the guitar Billy's playing at this gig the same one that was stolen from him and only recently recovered a couple years ago?
Yes
This full show used to be on youtube now its gone
This is amazing.
I've always loved this song too, but regardless, pls correct me if I'm wrong but it's never sounded this good to me either.
Now I have a theory, Billy was griping (I mean joking) about no one having the album... so I'm assuming it was brand new at this time they performed....
My friend just saw SP for the first time ever in Tampa, and he said even though he doesn't like ATUM, he couldn't deny the three ATUM songs "beguiled , empires + Spellbinding" sounded way better live than the others in the set.
Knee-jerk response is, technology, the new songs probably have backing tracks or something synched up maybe?
Or Hardware in the studio for its recording may have very well been employed at the Florida show.
Maybe billy just sucks at "covering" his past LPs?
Thoughts?
He's saying Bugg as in James dog.
guy leaning back at 2:45 looks like a doll or something.
@Caligamecock But he's older and getting older like you and me. People change, that's life. You can't expect the guy to stay the same.
I had crushes back in the '90s on D'arcy, Sonic Youth's Kim Gordon, Concrete Blonde's Johnette Napolitano, and White Zombie's Sean Yseult (sp?) -- all four women bassists for their respective bands.
@DanBL0N00
In their early 20's and pumped full of drugs?
I wish they were still like that too =P
last moicanos
Bang the fuck out of those drums dale I mean jimmy!
The ending is always awesome to listen to, because of Corgan and Chamberlin.
And he just found the long lost gish guitar. I will be at the Dallas show. Will be the 3rd SP show in a year. And I'd go to more if they came. Oklahoma
@majunior000 Chamberlin is king. :)
D'arcy must have been so nervous! She does have severe stage fright ):
Also its so weird seeing James have energy on stage XD
Pre too-much-drugs
What did Darcy say at the beginning?
lorenna tuter that she was nervous because her dad was at the show.
How the F did Nirvana get all the credit? These guys were 500 times better
No they should stop playing crap on the radio and start playing the good music that's made every day by great musicians.
Im really glad Billy has his favorite guitar back just restrung my 1997 Strat and its like an old friend And the seventies Strats were not very good so that one is special a very good and unique Strat and d'arcy was cute im nervous cause my dads here .
why do they all have to 'mosh' during a slow, tender track ??
Shout out to Mr. Wreksty
I think the date is wrong
No Pumpkins without Jimmy Chamberlin
Gish is the only Pumpkins album that matters, and it is a must-own.
Sorry, not sorry.
I saw them in 2000 and it was actually a bit of a letdown.. They only played a couple songs from Siamese Dream, nothing from Gish, and closed with 1979. I know it's a popular song but not my favorite by a long shot.
The very beginning sounded like champagne supernova
If a Chicago alley cat transformed into a human...then was run over...then came back to life as another human, it would be Billy Corgan.
