I was 1 year old. Mom used to always listen to them on the radio growing up. Snail is a favorite I’ve discovered in my early teens. Kudos to lime wire!
My son ist 27, he listened to the album "siamese dream" again and again, when his mother was pregnant with him. Today, when he doesn't expect it, i play the album on the CD-Player... I'm always happy, when i look into his face in that moment... Sorry for my bad english, i am from austria
This show is from 09/07/1993 - Villeurbanna, France - Transbordeur This is the only known clip from it, and they only played Snail one other time on the European leg of the 1993 tour (earlier on 8/24/1993 - Stockholm, Sweden - Melody). Hopefully one day some more of this footage will be released. This is a particularly solid performance, and both the video and audio quality are outstanding!!
I was a child in the 80s but a young adult in the 90s and if I could relive those days I would. So much good music and not enough time to see all these bands.
Somewhere there has to be a version where you can see Jimmy Chamberlin the whole time during this song. It's such an epic song for drums. Enough shots of Bill Corgan, give the drummer some!
@@papadelta9485 yeah bat strat gets painted in 94. This is it. I remember seeing it on the video footage of them recording siamese dream before it was painted. I need to get myself a frnder 57 avri strat
@@tom1957 I hate to correct you but that is not true. Billy played the bat strat as we have known to recognize it in dozens of shows as early as August. Did you not ever see their Halloween SNL performance ? They played cherub rock and today for that guest performance. Billy played the bat strat. It was already painted silver by then.
@@kristopherryanwatson um no he did not use the bat strat painted in august. At the Metro, in August of 93, he had the unpainted bat strat. SnL was in october of 93 so there is definitely a couple months time for him to paint it. And if you actually look into his gear you will see there was only 1 strat that was that sunburst 57 Avri stratocaster. Every other guitar was completely different.
I am a big SP fan...but man, it seems like when William shaved his head the music and the ability to reproduce it live went WAY down. This here is an awesome performance!
They changed their style. Not in quality of music. If you look into some of their songs in MellonCollie they can get intricate and in Adore they really change. Every album they put out has been pretty different from the last and honeslty thats great. Otherwise you'll be like ACDC and putting out the same old thing every album
Some redditor posted a live Snail from 91 from RUclips here.... It was absolutely amazing.f Captioned it with the prerequisite "doesn't get much better than this!" Yet the first (and only) comment (I might add) Was a link to THIS. 😂 It made me .... I dunno. I love taking rhetoric literally online as much as the next guy But this is soundboard and their video was just handicam. It's like comparing apples to oranges. And give me oranges any day. Also I like the end solo here but
The most underrated song in SP's catalog of songs. My top 2-3. . . .
Damn me too ...
I 100% agree with you. Great, great, great song. Jimmy’s drums on the outro astound me. Somewhere I read it was a first take...
@@longlivetheabb that guitar in the end is godly w the drums backing it up
Love it. But I love almost all of their songs. This is in my top 30
Top 1 man…

Billy thank you. This is a masterpiece ❤

Their masterpiece. One of the best songs every written by anyone

Yes Jimmy C. dominates in this one. The thing about Jimmy is how effortlessly he plays. Amazing drummer

Snail from Gish - Siamese Dream era
Yo cuando Snail ☹️☹️☹️☹️

So you're saying Billy's baldness caused his musical ability to go down.
Greatest logic ever.
+Sadland Machines samson and delilah
thats super shallow dude.
Agreed. it's just a different time for music. it's more electronic, hip hop, dj crap.

Camera man showing zero love for Darcy 😅
He is gay
Doesn't sound the same without his Strat that was stolen. Still epic though 💪
Way more likely he’s using a slightly different rig anyway. Using a different strat probably wouldn’t be noticeable.

Sounds like a monitor mix.
He has been playing that song via Big Muff in video so sound too fat
"Bad Words" brought me here....Just sayin...

The epitome of Shoegaze rock
This yust proves the band no good without Darcy 😮
