      Trade and economic functioning is the most important thing on a global scale (I feel there are more important things but meh it is what it is).
      This is why large scale war is self sabotage.
      Big war = economic turmoil
      economic Turmoil = Angry people
      Angry people = Civilian uprising.
      Civilian uprising = end of the status quo and creation of power vacuums.

      @@phelanwolf6747there are lots of reasons why Russia is invading Ukraine.
      I read a UN report about how rising temperatures will cause lots of ice thaw in northern Russia which will create lots of flooding and bog lands.
      This is predicted to impact how Russia can farm. Ukraine on the other hand seems to be more fertile as temperatures rise.
      This at least one component of Russia invading Ukraine is to try and claim more sustainable farming land.

    Russian gas was paid for by Germany and other EU users. Russia paid transit fees to Ukraine. Ukraine used the revenue to fund its defense against Russia. Russia used the revenue from gas sales to fund its war against Ukraine. Russian gas supported EU industrial activity, which in turn, generated the revenue to fund its weapons supply to Ukraine. It’s a virtuous circle. Makes sense?

    EU buying russian Energy through 3 parties at higher prices

    • @lepetitroquet9410
      @lepetitroquet9410 2 дня назад +6

      Not exactly when it comes to gas. Russia doesn't have either the pipelines or the LNG facilities to ship all that gas they were selling to Europe to third parties who could then sell it back to the europeans. And the price is only higher when it comes to gas (around 200%-250% more), though in february 2024, it was back down to historical pre-war level. High gas prices are not to be taken as granted in the long term.
      As for oil, they had enough capacities, but the russian companies paid most of the price for that, as the europeans paid the normal market price for that oil, the third parties took their share, so Russia had to vastly reduce its margin to keep selling. Easy to see as once the discount disappeared, India suddenly stopped importing so much russian oil.

    • @PjotrII
      @PjotrII 2 дня назад +5

      Partly true, but you also left out one point... Russia get less profit from OIL, and more profit when they sell refined products. India for example, do NOT want to buy refined products, ONLY oil that they can refine and GET the profit out of it... so TRUE, Russian oil goes to India, is refined, and sold among others to the EU.
      This means that Russia (under the sanctions get LESS paid for the oil). So Russia suffers... India profits, and the EU buys the gasoline at NORMAL price... it is NOT to my knowledge more expensive than others.
      EU now imports less oil from India than last year. And it is an ongoing discussion how to face that problem.
      USA, EU and UK are planning to add more sanctions on Russian oil export (the shadow fleet), and possibly banks that help/finance them. So things could be moving.

Still there is not that much of a discrepancy between market and landing cost in Europe. @@HCqvintus First of all those weapons belong to EU nations, and as everyone knows the countries of the EU desperately need to rearm and build up their own militaries. Even worse, much of those weapons come straight out of the military warehouses of EU nations, thus depleting the little stocks they have. So yeah, if those Ukrainians want to close off the gas supply to the rest of Europe, fine, but then the EU needs to completely close off all the arms shipments and aid supply to Ukraine as well. Seeing as the EU/Europe is by far the biggest donor to Ukraine, that country would crumble in no time.

Yes, the EU has decided that good Russians live in Ukraine (and that is why they are called Ukrainians) and they need to be helped. Now it will be at the cost of the fact that the EU will have a shortage of gas and its price will skyrocket. States with access to other gas will save it for themselves and will not release it further. In the end, the EU will buy overpriced gas from ships. It is also expensive to extract and transport as it has to be liquefied....Oil running out by 9% a year now, so it is better growing food in gardens and being sustainable,As tractor harvest will become like the dinosaur soon = lockdowns ,electric cars which waste more resources .Gorbachev and Putin ( freemason ) Club of Rome ,depopul95% .They had to decommission the nuclear weapons ,to keep the nuclear power stations going in America ,But coal creates more Uranium ,mercury waste ,and aluminum waste than power stations .Mercury from burnt coal ,goes into rivers ,make birds transgender ( new scientist magazine )
      ..""" Gas to heat Europe gone > soon
      ..increase coal power generation to free up natural gas for export,
      Russia’s coal expansion is running out of steam
      ●Despite changes in domestic and international markets, Russia is betting on coal consumption as it moves to develop its eastern regions and pivot from Europe. Will it work?
      ●Coal was meant to help build Siberia and the Far East. The national energy strategy of 2012 aimed to match Soviet levels of coal production by 2030, increase coal power generation to free up natural gas for export, and expand coaling capacity at ports. Production increases have continued steadily the last two years despite economic headwinds in a bid to maintain market share.
      ●In 2010, Russia produced 323.4 million tons of coal and has increased production since. The Ministry of Energy projects this year’s production at 390 million tons. Domestic demand has been flat-aside from a temporary spike due to lower water levels in Siberia last year, which reduced the availability of hydropower. Exports have driven growth, but China also introduced import tariffs on Russian coal in 2014 and is changing its energy mix.
      ●As China and India become price-setters and coal’s prominence declines, Russia’s coalers are quite exposed to external price volatility. Prices have spiked because of underproduction in China, and Chinese firms are playing catch up to stabilize the market. Trends in China, India, and Asia, at large are negative, despite short-term demand growth, and competition from natural gas within Russia threaten numerous investments made by Russian coal companies in recent years.
      www.ft.com/content/6225ff10-ee9d-11e9-a55a-30afa498db1b
      In the Asia-Pacific region alone, nearly 2,600 platforms, 35,000 wells, 7.5 million tonnes of steel and 55,000 kilometres of pipelines will need to be decommissioned over the next decade across a region ranging from India to Papua New Guinea and China to Australia. The potential cost for this could rise above £78billion. Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia are collectively thought to have around 1,500 structures and 7,000 oil fields that will be either 30 years old or require decommissioning by 2038. In the Gulf of Thailand, Chevron is faced with 300 platforms and 6,000 wells that must be decommissioned over the next decade. India has a further 300 structures and up to 1,000 oil fields facing the same scenario. Australia expects 40 offshore fields to cease operations over the next decade.
      Closer to home, according to industry analysts Wood Mackenzie, up to half of the North Sea’s 600 installations - first installed 40 years ago - were due to be decommissioned by 2021. The UK government estimates the cost of removal at £20billion over the next 25 years in the North Sea. Globally, more than 4,000 such installations are scheduled for removal and 7,000 fields will cease production by 2022.
