After listening to all of Rachmaninoff, all of Brahms all of Chopin loads of Debussy and all else, The Lark by Glinka is still my favourite piece. I can’t quite place it, even above my favourite Rachmaninov works it has something most dear, some form of exquisite beauty mixed with deep sorrow, and thag ending 😮❤

@@GTXTi-db5xu nope, he doesn’t seem to play many virtuoso encores anymore sadly. But he blew everyone away with his flawless Prokofiev 2 rendition.
