I'm really impressed by this performance ! But I'm also wondering what happened in the history of karate because I practice Shotokan and Bassai Dai is really different from this ancient version. This is so cool to see all this difference between style : karate is extraordinary ! 🥋
That's because this is not Bassai Dai but Tomari Bassai, if you watch the regular Bassai Dai you will find more similarities between Shotokan version (the one you learned) and Shito Ryu.
She is just fantastic. I love this version.
That was fantastic!
Amaizing! In Dento Mabuni Shito-Ryu, this is Oyadomari no Bassai, Tomari no Bassai is another one, pretty similar, as all the "Bassai Kata Family" (Ishimine, Tomari, Matsumura, Oyadomari and, of course, Dai and Sho)
This is not shotokan or shito-ryu like most of yall think, its Jyoshinmon Shorin Ryu
Tomari Bassai is literally my favorite kata ever :)
Bravissima
Super super super wonderful kata kata beauti nice way of karate
It's pretty similar to Oyadomari No Bassai.
She is fast
かっけー!👍👍👍👍👍
She is like robot I love her style...
She's the next World Champion! No doubt about it!
Impressive...
anyone else notice Mr. Antonio Diaz in the background lol?
Very nice performance. However, I question that the combination front kick / side kick is part of an old-style kata.
I have seen a lot of Bassai / Passai and have never seen that.
Anyone?
This is not a traditional Tomari-Passai. This Kata is heavily modified by Jyoshinmon. Jyoshinmon is originally came from Shorinji-Ryu Renshinkan. Shito-Ryu has same Kata that also changed and add flashy act like motions. They don't practice real original Okinawan version.
yes. i recognize jyoshinmon influence here. but in jyoshinmon some movements are done differently
good
うつくしいw
Bravooo!!!L
Sensai iam training in uechi ryu karate
woowww
Oyadomari no Passai. Ni Shitoryu ni Shotokan
👍👍👍👍👑👑👑👑👑
Out of curiosity, what is "practical" Karate to you? I'm just seeking clarification to the point your making.
What was the name of the other Japanese girl, who she met in the final?
Pretty? youre only saying that because she is a woman, that kata she did took years of hard training to look that great. There was nothing pretty about her kata, It was intimidating and her form was very good. What are you talking about practical karate? Do you train???
Shito Ryu
Old stayel valu but new besi valu
Looks really pretty but I prefer Karate that is practical. This is why Karate is great. The art can be interpreted in so many ways. This style would certainly develop your body physically and with a good Sensei provide a path for self improvement.
she modified two "Slides" going foward in her Kata so she ended up so far ahead of where she started, this is not even my style and the first time i saw this Kata, but it is obvious what happened. ..... good speed and movement for her though.

Funakoshi Karate it is the Shorin style way a bit different from Shotokan, a bit a cat style Okinawa originated by Anko Itosu ans Matsomura
That's not old style, that's just shotokan!!!! It's true is an old kata but as old as the shito ryu version.
Not Shotokan at all ;-)
